    A prognostication

Moderna Corp announced this morning some very favorable results regarding antibodies for the corona virus. The tests were done on a relatively small group and more testing will be needed. I am suggesting that if more positivity comes about from additional testing, the left and the mainstream media ( actually one in the same) will initiate a campaign to either discredit the drug or plant the seed of doubt in peoples minds about its safety and efficacy. It will be no different than the hydroxychloriquine study. They discredited it and made people think that they could die from it and it had no impact on the virus. The drug has been around 50 years, is cheap and obviously pretty safe or would not be around that long. Even CNN recently indicated that the drug was an effective treatment when used properly and at the right time.

  8. Many of the more intellectuals are against Sports of any kind. Could some kids playing football get Coronavirus? Sure. Could they get it anyway? Sure. And who’s the least likely to have adverse affects from it - a teenager in good physical condition. If I thought HS football would be more dangerous from a Covid aspect, I’d be against it, but I don’t see it. But hey, I’m just another Yahoo with an opinion. Kids are going to be around other kids.

While the UIL has not postponed the season yet, I see local school districts forcing their hand. Several school districts have pushed back in person school openings and have dictated that no extracurricular activities will occur until their schools open to face to face instruction. Fort Bend, Austin, Pflugerville and Houston have already done this.

  13. He has a point. If I want to start looking at my genealogy, I can hit up ancestry.com or familysearch.org and go as far back as I care to go. There’s a history and an accountability associated with that. Those chains of succession were smashed for so many black families during the time of slavery. Instead of birth and death records, the slaves would be cataloged like the livestock instead of included in census records. It’s hard to complain that there’s not a great big sense of ancestry if slavery was part of the reason that sense doesn’t exist like it does in white families. If you believe that the criminal justice system is racist, the the fact that so many young black fathers are racially incarcerated and keeping them from being the fathers that they could be. Lastly, the black guys here posting ARE family guys. Most of them are here because they’ve been actively working with their own kids... but we’re griping at them about the problem of single parenting in their community. How do you explain to a young man w/o a dad in his life that the best day of your own life was when your kids were born? There aren’t any easy answers.

  17. I seriously don’t blame whites for our problems on the day to day. I believe we have the tools to do for self if we let go of bad habits and pick up good ones. But I am aware that a lot of these bad habits were created through oppression. I am aware that systemic racism still exist. No it’s not as strong as it was long ago but it can go back that way if you get too relaxed. You teach people how to treat you by what you allow and we can’t allow the system go back to its old ways. As a matter of fact we must push it further away from its old ways. And yes we must also be self accountable

  19. Systemic racism is not the major problem facing the black community today.... not even in the top 25, probably Slavery existed. So did the Ice Age.... and it has nothing to do with why my beer in my refrigerator says cold. Most black communities are former white communities that were destroyed after the whites left... go figure. Before you start crying about Tulsa, do a little reading. the death toll on day one was 10 white, 2 black. If you ask me, I'll quote you and say that those blacks "started a confrontation and found out they picked the wrong white boys." At the end of the firefight, 12 people were killed: 10 white and 2 black.[21] As news of these deaths spread throughout the city, mob violence exploded.[2] White rioters rampaged through the black neighborhood that night and morning killing men and burning and looting stores and homes, and only around noon the next day did Oklahoma National Guard troops manage to get control of the situation by declaring martial law. About 10,000 black people were left homeless, and property damage amounted to more than $1.5 million in real estate and $750,000 in personal property (equivalent to $32.25 million in 2019). Their property was never recovered nor were they compensated for it. (32.25 million in damages in today's numbers... by comparison, the damages caused by BLM in Minneapolis alone this year are over $550 million. So cry me river about ol' Tulsa). MLK, JFK, RFK..... all killed in the 60s. All Civil Rights Leaders? Nope... but let's cry over black ones. They're special. Yup... Whites just dropped off pallets of coke in black communities and they had no idea what to do with it. Those poor blacks were forced to sell it on the corners in a vain attempt to rid their neighborhoods of the poison. Still ongoing, btw. That's the bull that I'm talking about. Black people destroy their communities with drugs use and sales, and STILL try to blame white people Every black kid out there can sing song after song by "artists" who glorify drug abuse, but it's still the fault of racism. Like I said.... it's not racism that holds the black communities back... it's a victim mentality that ooze from every direction in the black community.

  27. True, true, true..... and slavery had an affect on that. The number of young black dads in prison even more so. I don’t think that dismantling the justice system is the answer, though, and as a white dude I don’t know what I can do to help. I don’t have a voice in the community that needs the message.

It will be interesting to see how different the HH team is this year. More athletic at QB, younger RB, smaller O-line. Lost a lot of experience on D-Line. Praying for a season.

  30. It’s totally true. He hasn’t said so explicitly, but I’d bet a small sum that Santa had a legit father figure. It’s been proven over and over that a kid’s best chance of being raised above the poverty level and all of the problems faced by people living in low socioeconomic situations is to be from a nuclear family. From the BLM mission statement. [Hidden Content] ”We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.” I guess that’s what young black kids need.... less father figures and more “it takes a village.”

  31. Excellent points, the only problem is conservatives find it very difficult and distasteful to play by the rules liberals play by. It does work, Trump is living proof of that, he makes them look foolish at every turn. They can't handle it when someone turns their nonsense back at them.

  34. The question is: Why are they not reporting correctly. Is it political? Is it money? From the article: "“Countless labs have reported a 100 percent positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive,” Fox 35 News reported. “Other labs had very high positivity rates.” Orlando Health, for example, reported a 98 percent positivity rate. Lee Memorial Hospital Lab, PanCare of Florida, Inc and Advance Medical of Naples all reported 100 percent positivity rates; no negative results were included. Fox 35 News said it investigated the numbers by contacting every local location listed in the report. Orlando Health confirmed errors in the report, and its positivity rate is said to be 9.4 percent, not 98 percent as listed. Similarly, a VA spokesperson told Fox 35 News that the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center’s positivity rate is actually 6 percent, not 76 percent as seen on the report. Fox News has reached out to the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center with a request for comment on this story."

  40. They don’t care. Concern for Black lives is just a ploy. They want our current social, financial and political system to be upended. Certainly black lives are as important and precious as any. But the actual BLM movement is a sleight of hand. They only care about their anarchistic agenda. Truly if it were black lives that were important to them, they wouldn’t be promoting things that are putting black lives more at risk.

  41. Merely more evidence of what we all knew. Even a moderate liberal is labeled a racist & Nazi. Ironic, but that’s the same tactic the Nazi’s used. It was a hostile work environment. I’d think she could file a lawsuit about that. Where’s her protection? News organization? No, a propaganda machine.

  45. 2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS RUSK EAGLES 2019 Record: 3-8 Overall; 3-1 District 7-4A-II Co-Champions 2019 was a tale of two seasons as the Rusk Eagles. The pre-district slate saw the Eagles go winless. However, when district play came around, Rusk took 3 of their 4 district contests to tie for the district title. Although the chances of a repeat seemed long given the inexperience of the returning team (4 starters on each side of the ball) and moving to an extremely tough district, they received a boost with the hiring of Thomas Sitton, who earned a state championship with Tyler Chapel Hill in 2011 and comes off of 3 years as the defensive coordinator at Converse Judson! COACHING Head Coach: Thomas Sitton Assistant Coaches: Hunter Ramsey (Defensive Coordinator), Clint Harper (Offensive Coordinator) OFFENSE Four starters return to the Eagle spread offense in 2020. Senior quarterback Landon Gates will again by counted on to lead the Rusk offense. Senior running back Alex Jones (2nd team all-district) will join him in the backfield with senior back Camdon Hudnall and sophomore Tarrant Sunday also getting carries. Senior receivers Joseph McGowan (1st team all-district) and Isiah Ward (2nd team all-district) join junior wide out Chris Lawson to form the core of the Eagle receiver squad. Senior center Lane Gilchrist (1st team all-district) will lead the Rusk offensive line. DEFENSE Four starters return to the Rusk 3-4 defense in 2020. As with the offensive line, Gilchrist will lead the defensive line. Junior linebacker Caleb Ferrera (2nd team all-district) will lead the linebacker squad which will also get contributions from Jones (2nd team all-district), Gates, Hudnall and Sunday. McGowan, at safety, and Ward, at cornerback (both 2nd team picks) will patrol the Eagle secondary along with Lawson. SPECIAL TEAMS While the kicking duties are yet to be determined, Lawson (1st team all-district) will do the punting. 47. Regardless. The movement is very much needed. It didn’t just appear for no reason. Fatherlessness is real problem but fatherlessness is not what got Zimmerman off after murdering Trayvon. That’s the system. The system must be held accountable for things like that. If things like that happen more idiots get comfortable with killing black people. “Aye if Zimmerman got away with it maybe I can”. You can’t allow people to get that comfortable
