I live in Port Neches, but I send my kids to SOC.

PAM was the best defensive team in the area.Holding teams to around 15 pts on avg. Saturday was the first time in awhile they gave up that many yards and points since game 2 of the season. Also this year, as a team, they did not get penalties like Saturday. Idk if the refs was calling ticky tack holding or actual holding. The false starts and offsides are very uncharacteristic. IMO, PAM run defense is one of the best in the state. Shut #22 down and we got a real shot. Also rb’s like him don’t do well against PAM defenses. He’s one of those bruising backs that you can’t let him gain momentum. Not saying he’s a Derrick Henry, but runs similar.

DePauldrick was on that team and he's now the RB Coach.

Just one little bit to add that most wouldn't know.after a few descent runs by randy simmons. CT moved Quinton tezeno from safety to LB the rest of game.he and Jeff knox absolutely got after him !!

After watching some games, PAM HAS to play clean, and they're going to need some explosive plays. I don't see either team being able to sustain long drives all game. SV has more speed than people think. This game may come down to who makes 1 or 2 breakout scores. If both play to form, this should be a very low scoring affair. Games like this magnify Special Teams. I could see 21-24 points being a magic number. Just don't see either team scoring more than that.

There is a good chunk of area north of I-10 (goes about halfway up to Mauriceville) zoned to WOS. There is also part of a neighborhood south of I-10 that is zoned to LCM, which I didn't know about before looking at the map Austin1985 posted.

I watch them play NB unicorns 😂 last night I believe if PAM secondary make the tackles in open space and don’t give up the deep ball when they take shots when they get a reason to of course. Wouldn't shock me no matter the result. SV has experience and is the defending champion, but this PAM team has proven they can beat very good teams. If it's close in the 4th I'd take SV but I don't think it will be . PAM earns the right to play in Arlington.

Congrats to WOS coaching staff. One of the best staffs in the Region at planning, adjusting, and properly utilizing their players.

Yep, along with Pasadena. If it somehow drops to 2200, then Angleton, Baytown Sterling and La Porte would go 6A. In the past, UIL has always had at least 245 schools in 6A. Sometimes 250. These numbers are not looking good for some of our schools remaining 5A DI.

Seeing the official numbers, projections now have 6A cutoff at 2205 (245 schools). If that is the case, West Brook would be going back to 6A.

You're correct. One was certainly there, the other was there playing, I think. Both those coaches are glad to be where we are right now. They'd play Sinton in a pasture if they had to, I'm sure.

So if a team doesn't win the Big 12 that makes them not any good? You don't beat the teams they have beaten this season or have very close losses to some highly ranked teams and not be good. Who said anything about Lamar winning the SLC? You can be a good team and not win your conference. If that were the case, the NCAA tourney would only have conference champions play. If memorial plays a clean game and the trenches play well they’ll have a chance. Secondary gone have to do better as well. SV plays good sound football without all the mistakes. They have experience going this deep but we have some speed that could surprise them.

It's impressive that SV reloaded after losing 9 offensive starters. They also have a DE commited to SMU. #4 could play at any D1 programme in the nation imo. They will present a 4-4 look with a sound defensive line. They will run out of the Pistol with or without #4. #22 is equally capable. Special teams is sound across the board...... #4 also is their number 1 receiver...... This school handed PA their first loss in school history. They also gave PA a loss in it's 2nd season with J. Charles running wild. This is a full circle game and like finally beating Hightower after several tries, a program defining game......

[Hidden Content] I use to work with maps while working for the Jefferson Co apraisal district back when it was off 39th St in Groves many moons ago. My understanding is it was the county lines, then the school district lines. Un-incorporated areas became cities and that's why you have city boundaries not matching the school district's lines. Also, neighborhood developers just build in an empty field not really paying attention to school district lines unless they will use it as a selling point. But to your initial question: that whole area between 365 and Jimmy Johnson is a cluster but I remember when all of that was rice fields

WOS by 21..Sinton has not seen speed like WOS all year

This is what I do know. There are certain people in this fan base that don’t have any knowledge of football and no school spirit but just show up to cause confusion. This may be the case here, however, there seem to be belligerent people like this In all of our local fan bases.

I will say this. For the most part, PNG fans on here or the ones I talk to in real live are great fans and will support other area teams. However, I did see little jabs here and there by some PNG fans toward port Arthur going around social media the last few months. Started off about talking smack about the rankings that PNG was higher all year. Then it quickly went to comments about neighborhoods, demographics, and race . So I’ll say a little of this rubbing in your face is warranted… But I’ll say heck of a season as I hoped yall spanked SOC. I have a personally little beef with them that stemmed from several years back.

Man, HH must’ve woken up this year and learned how to coach. They wanted this man run out of town last year and now he’s in the state semifinals? Crazy how quickly things changed. Congrats WOS! Finish the job.

Barbay had a good season this year and last. Nothing wrong with his results in Jasper. Had to deal with Carthage and some tough outs in the playoffs.
