PNG and growth?
prepballfan and 3 others reacted to Austin1985 for a topic
[Hidden Content] I use to work with maps while working for the Jefferson Co apraisal district back when it was off 39th St in Groves many moons ago. My understanding is it was the county lines, then the school district lines. Un-incorporated areas became cities and that's why you have city boundaries not matching the school district's lines. Also, neighborhood developers just build in an empty field not really paying attention to school district lines unless they will use it as a selling point. But to your initial question: that whole area between 365 and Jimmy Johnson is a cluster but I remember when all of that was rice fields4 points -

They watched Orangefield play our second game on Day 1, so they brought in players that were not on their original roster for our game against them. At least three players on Day 2 were not there for Day 1. I was told they promised the Director they would be bringing only their local team or what they would refer to as their JV since they were a "Prep Academy" that recruits. Apparently they feared taking a loss in 3A/4A tournament, so we were told the other three players were from their National Travel Team, which consists of 3, 4, & 5 Star Recruits. The cussing, chirping, and tryin to start fights started even before tip off. (I've seen teams like this in AAU, but never in a UIL Sanctioned Game) This is typical when these kinds of teams are afraid of losing to a small school team, they try to scare players acting like they want to fight and pull all that mess. Our country kids aren't scared of anything but God and their Daddy's and Momma's though, lol. Their coaches were jawwing at our players while on the floor, and their players were goin at Whitmire as well. Their players were making sexual gestures at our players and fans in the crowd during the game, which was brought a step further when one of their coaches made the same sexual gesture at one of the Moms in the crowd. Cops were brought in, and Im honestly not sure why the game wasn't stopped unless it was a UIL need to let it finish. They were hands down the most classless and poor representation of a high school program that I have ever seen. I feel sorry for the parents of kids that are having to pay to go to school there. There Head coach was in the news and convicted of embezzling over a million dollars from his company just six months ago. (the players were showing me pictures from the news.) He is on probation, coaching his son's high school team, trophy hunting in a small school tournament. I'm biased, but I believe we still beat them if my son doesn't pull his hip flexor in the 2nd quarter. They were already getting in foul trouble and sending him to the line, which was the plan.2 points -

Rhodes (9700) holds more than Randall Reed (8200). Also Randall Reed is not nearly halfway for both teams like Katy. Really the only other stadium that would be a good fit would be Cy-Fair FCU Stadium at Cypress or Legacy Stadium at Katy. Both of those are taken. Maybe Tomball ISD or Ken Hall or Mercer in Sugarland or Freedom in Iowa Colony. Pretty sure Sinton would not agree to any stadium east, southeast, north or northeast of Houston. That takes out several stadiums. Best fit for all is something west or southwest of Houston. That keeps travel pretty even.2 points -

The thing is that Port Neches is truly landlocked. Nederland on one side, refineries, Neches River, Port Arthur…. Where is the growth going to come from? I must say, I do see Port Neches-Groves schools buses picking and dropping kids off in Port Arthur zones and apartments…2 points -

First of all, again, these are not your words. You need to state the source and give them credit. Second, this is no doubt a really bias hit piece. You can tell because of "environmental justice" part. What the heck does that mean anyway? All these supposed things that are being released into the air, "Daily Exposure: Residents report constant chemical odors, affecting daily life and increasing illness" I think was stated here, drive around any refinery and let us know if you smell anything. Also if you see any flares blowing? You might see a little fire but that's normal with no smell.1 point

Cards were 2-27 4 years ago, 9-22 the year after that. 19-14 in 2024, 20-13 last season. This year they're 5-3 and probably should've beaten a big 12 opponent.1 point -

AS I said before, Per the law congress passed DOJ had 30 days to redact and release what they can.....and every Democrat agreed. I'd get in more detail, but you won't debate, so there is no point... DOJ requested Grand Jury files released and Florida Judge granted.... DOJ also requested New York Grand Jury Files, but they have not responded...... There is a school house rock video on youtube that explains the separation of powers, and that should help you understand why Trump (who is NOT a King) cannot make the courts release sealed documents....1 point -
It's impressive that SV reloaded after losing 9 offensive starters. They also have a DE commited to SMU. #4 could play at any D1 programme in the nation imo. They will present a 4-4 look with a sound defensive line. They will run out of the Pistol with or without #4. #22 is equally capable. Special teams is sound across the board...... #4 also is their number 1 receiver...... This school handed PA their first loss in school history. They also gave PA a loss in it's 2nd season with J. Charles running wild. This is a full circle game and like finally beating Hightower after several tries, a program defining game......1 point

Definitely a winnable group. Need to take advantage of that first-game excitement and put Paraguay away early. Australia will be a war, whether we want it to be or not. Most likely Turkey in the 3rd game and take care of business1 point

I wasn't told that they had to forfeit their win against us, but I do know they were told that they were not allowed to come back the following day due to multiple incidents involving their players and coaches.(I would think UIL would have to get involved for their win to be changed to a loss, correct?) Their removal from the tournament did put Orangefield back in the Championship Game against Jim Ned though.1 point -

Scales pulled his hip flexor at the start of the 2nd quarter in the Semi against Austin Prep. Austin Prep won that game but was told they were not allowed back due to multiple on court incidents involving their coaches and their players. I was not told that would be a forfeiture of their win against us, but rather a removal of them from the tournament, which then put us back in the Championship Game against Jim Ned. Yes, great win for the Bobcats with Scales being out of the lineup.1 point -

I’m guessing it’s got a lot to do with zoning because some areas are inside Nederland and PA city limits but considered PNGISD. I lived in a apartment complex on Jimmy Johnson, not far from Twin City Hwy a long time ago which is PA city limits but a couple of the sections up front were in PNGISD and the others were PAISD…CRAZINESS!! They did some rezoning in that area years ago so that one is all PAISD now but I think a couple of the complexes closer to Twin City are still PNGISD.1 point -

What else are we supposed to say honestly? You guys (I love your stuff, no kidding) but you promote and glorify teams along with the UIL who gain advantages. Everyone knows what's coming and it's extremely difficult to compete with it. And somehow it's "racist" to bring up recruiting? Still haven't figured that one out. It is what it is man. The rules are there that allow it currently but it doesn't impress me. They have the most transfers in the state. That should not be allowed OR the school should be able to do it if they move up to a much higher classification. It's common sense to most but not all for some reason. Crown them. We are still coming, and we are bringing hell with us.1 point -
