  1. This has gone long enough. When folks start talking about race of the coach, that ends the thread.

  2. Hey anti-American libs, where was your outrage over this? As usual, never heard a peep. I guess oops would cover it for you. Google search: The Abbey Gate bombing on August 26, 2021, was a suicide attack carried out by an ISIS-K member, Abdul Rahman al-Logari, that killed 13 U.S. service members and more than 100 Afghan civilians. Days later, the U.S. military conducted a drone strike targeting what they believed was an imminent threat to troops at the airport. This strike, ordered under President Biden's authority, mistakenly killed 10 innocent civilians, including seven children and one aid worker, Zemerai Ahmadi, not at Abbey Gate itself but a few kilometers away in Kabul. Key details regarding these two separate events: The Abbey Gate Bombing Perpetrator: The attack was a suicide bombing conducted by an ISIS-K militant. Casualties: It resulted in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members and approximately 160 Afghan civilians who were attempting to flee the country during the evacuation. Biden's response: President Biden vowed to hunt down those responsible and ordered a counterstrike. The U.S. Drone Strike (August 29, 2021) The order: Following the Abbey Gate attack, the U.S. military received intelligence of another potential attack and tracked a white vehicle, believing it to contain explosives. The mistake: A U.S. drone strike hit the vehicle, but it was a "tragic mistake". The driver was an aid worker with no connections to ISIS-K or threats against U.S. troops. Civilian casualties: The strike and subsequent secondary explosions killed 10 members of the same family, including one man and six children (along with three other adults). The U.S. Central Command later concluded that the drone strike was a "tragic mistake" and apologized for the loss of life, stating none of the victims were connected to ISIS-K or posed a threat.

  3. This is what I do know. There are certain people in this fan base that don’t have any knowledge of football and no school spirit but just show up to cause confusion. This may be the case here, however, there seem to be belligerent people like this In all of our local fan bases.

  4. Smithson Valley's defense is very, very good..believe they brought back eight starters from the state title defense a year ago...they are sound, dont do much to beat themselves...you've got to beat them...... Offense isn't flashy, but they are efficient... Their special teams are outstanding

  6. Because BISD runs this tourney and it's a money maker for them? Tournament is not terrible. Are there better ones? Yes. But this isn't terrible. What tourneys this week should United and West Brook have played?

  7. Well, when you say elite, I assume you mean WB and BU? If so, they’re the host. What did you expect?

    My apologies

If you don't see updated scores or schedule updates from me today, I apologize. Battling the flu. Will be in bed most of the morning and afternoon. I will try to get caught up with results from most of the tourneys later this evening. Hopefully folks will post todays scores in the tournament threads. Thanks for your understanding.

    PNG and growth?

I think my main question is how you have families living in port neches but having to send their kids to Nederland. It’s never made sense to me. Would that be a zoning issue?

    PNG and growth?

The thing is that Port Neches is truly landlocked. Nederland on one side, refineries, Neches River, Port Arthur…. Where is the growth going to come from? I must say, I do see Port Neches-Groves schools buses picking and dropping kids off in Port Arthur zones and apartments…

  16. Will the 3rd time be the charm for Port Arthur Memorial to beat these guys? (Met in 2002 and 2003 1st game each season)

  17. I can agree with that now that I think about it. They both have the Katy model as far as style of play.

  18. Aledo's a nice place. Get some retired pro athletes come settle in that area sometimes also. I think Diboll's JerMichael Finley, who played TE for the packers, moved there after his NFL career to be a trainer. His son's one of their top receivers now if I'm not mistaking. They got a lot of resources 💰 to make things happen there and tend to attract the right people to keep things going.

  19. Your 5k number is misleading. Like many school districts, Aledo ISD serves more than just one town. They have around 34k people living within the Aledo ISD area. this is not an argument for or against what you’re saying. I’m just adding clarification.

  20. Ok this makes a lot more sense…but this tourney has went down hill since I was in school.

  21. If you are going to host, you want the host teams to play. It's their facilities being used and it sells tickets. That's just good busines. As for other tourneys, you only get to play three tournaments in a season. Have to have them played by the end of December since all the districts will be into district play by January. So you really only have this week (Dec. 4-6) next week (Dec. 11-13) and then the Christmas time to play your tourneys. So in their case, they have to not host a tourney (YMBL/BISD) which is a money maker for the district, and go play elsewhere in order to play better teams for just that one week. I looked at tourneys for this week and really the only one that stood out for competition was the Mansfield ISD tourney. It had several good teams in it. Also Conroe Grand Oaks was good. But it's just one week. Like I stated earlier, United will be playing in LaGrange La. tourney this coming week and then play in Dallas ISD tourney during Christmas break. West Brook is playing in a tough Cypress Hoops tourney this week and then play in Conroe ISD tourney at Christmas, I think both teams will get their fair share of competition in those tourneys. Therefore them hosting a tourney for this past week is not that big a deal on the competition level. (even though Cy Springs and Angleton took each team to the brink of losing). It's more important to keep that tourney going for all involved. I know about why some teams don't come to YMBL but that's old news. Things have changed from a few years ago on how it's run. I do agree that the tourney could be better on the competition side of things. Also hate that Lamar no longer hosts the tourney but I am glad they decided to not have a girls tourney at the same time. Allowed to get more boys teams in.

  23. Name me some tourneys that were played this week that you think WB and BU should have played instead of hosting a tourney? Maybe what you should be saying is YMBL/BISD should get better teams to play in the tourney outside of Cy Springs and Angleton. Simply put, you can't have a YMBL/BISD tourney without the BISD teams participating.

  24. Going with PAM, but like everyone else is saying, better watch the penalties in this game. BTW, I saw in the PA News last night that TCU did some good recruiting at PAM this season. Also TAM, UofH and others. Congrats to the 5 players getting some good scholarships.

  27. Congrats Titans! Great season BH…losing sux rocks, I know, but you proved a lot of people wrong this season. 4 rounds deep is nothing to be ashamed of at all, and it certainly wasn’t the 30-40 point blowout many were predicting. As for as the game goes, if you can’t contain the edges; especially with a QB like Amante, it’s going to be a very long night! That kid is very fun to watch!

  28. I predict PAM’s gonna’ need to be a lot more disciplined. I don’t think they’ll be able to get by SV with all the penalties. I do think I read somewhere where one of SV’s RB’s (#3) was dinged up. Don’t quote me on it though.

  44. I think PAM folks have been agitated over the fact that they beat PNG both years that PNG went to the title game and they didn’t. They poke at PNG fans about PNG not scheduling PAM again and some purple folk can’t take it and say stupid schlitz, but I think most of us would love to play them again if it means another trip to State 🤣. PAM has the speed that SOC has so getting an early game with them probably helped PNG when they got to the SOC matchups. Good Luck to Memorial. They should make it to the title. Then they will find out what it’s like facing one of those DFW recruiting teams in Aledo. And I will be cheering for the Titans in that matchup.

    West Orange Stark vs Sinton

Mustang Nation focus on the task at hand. WINNING and the combination that got us here. The whole village!! Now from what I remember about Sinton football is that in the past they tackle by flipping ankles, they travel with a big crowd, and they wear their colors proudly. We need to get after whom ever has the ball, bring the chain gang defense 2 X and get the win.
