We actually have 4 players coming from football. All very solid players too! My son is Aaden Bush and I know he will be thrilled to have all of those guys back with him for sure. I’m partial to him so you can imagine how I feel about him. Mungy creates a whole different dynamic on the team, and in my opinion, the best point guard in the district. It actually might be a fact. I think we will have a great showing from Denison, Smart and Silveira, our big man, this year too. Denison is great at the 3 but can also drive to the basket. Smart is second to none on defense and is a great role player. I look forward to a lot of dunks from Silveira this year. Those guys have been playing travel ball together for 10 years and their chemistry is incredible. Other players I expect to see good things from are Nelson and Jennings. Nelson is big and athletic and can get his head close to the rim. Jennings is a freshman and although he doesn’t have the experience most of these guys do, he’s learning quick and I think he’ll be a great asset for the team as well. He’s got some great guys to look up to for sure. All in all, this is the year these guys have been waiting for and they are hungry for it! Thankful these boys have Coach Daspit and they want to make him one of the most winningest coaches to come through Bridge City. Once the whole team is back together, it’ll be very interesting!

When your defense has given up 5 TDs, it’s hard to call the TD lucky.

If God does smile on us tonight and we do pull off the miracle that no one is expecting, why not just play us at our home field in Beaumont again? I mean you all did beat us there a couple weeks ago, 62-0 right? I'm quite sure Coach Dre would even let y'all sit on the home side this time...😄

It's really not a BISD thing but that plays a little into it. Lamar just doesn't care to host high school games. Maybe that thought process has changed with new admins but they made it clear a few years ago that they wanted no part of that business. Was charging a very high price for rental of stadium and then supplied really nothing as far as concessions or security.

They gave up some points and didn’t look to great defending the pass but the run defense seemed on point. Offensively they did what they wanted to. Ranked to high? Maybe maybe not… but no question who the better team was last night

Game day. Key to this game for BU to pull off the upset. 1. Come out passing to open up the run. Make them prove they can tackle our WRs in space. 2. No 3 and outs on our initial drive. Points will need to scored early and often. 3. Sustain long drives. This is key to keep the defense rested. Which leads to… 4. Defend cannot give up big plays. This seems to be a trend all season. Need to not have this. 5. Need big plays on special teams. I feel this is the glaring advantage that we have in this game. 6. And this may be the most inportant. No turnovers. We’ve had games where we’ve turned the ball over multiple times. The games that we’ve won, the it overs were at a minimum. Let’s keep it going, Wolves! #findaway

If it's not their team having success, then they're going to be negative. They always find a reason to be negative and that's just society today. But I'll say this, if your coach chose to opt up to Division 1 for WHATEVER reason, then you should back him 100%. If other people don't agree, so be it. It's what Bridge City decided to do and in the long scheme of things, they were successful doing it. BC is now the 2025 Division 1 District Champions and Bi-District Champions. So it's working for them. If you're on here and you not from Navasota or maybe Kilgore, then beat it or support a SETX team that is successful. There are plenty of schools loaded with potential in this area that can't figure it out. Go back to the miserable thread about your team not making the playoffs or losing the first round and figure out a solution to excel! Bridge City did! Congrats Cardinals!

Non-district opponents 6A and 2 5A-1 My point was Bridge City's competition was average this year in response to your statement of "dominating." One would hope with the talent they have this year that they would be winning like they are and continue their great run all the way to Jerry World. I was simply questioning your standard of "domination." Also, you put an * by their record acknowledging they're 10-1, not undefeated. Curious, but what was their reasoning for opting up to 4A-1?

Missed calls will happen, that's part of the game. As an official, clear and concise communication with players and coaches is key. Brief descriptions to coaching staff are key. Many times, officials will sit there and try to have a full-on conversation about a call with a coach. This always leads to losing span of control of the game. Hope the young man recovers. Looking forward to the remainder of the 5A DII playoffs.

The video I was able to find didn't specify what orders they were being asked to disobey. It was also a stupid request the video participants themselves wouldn't have followed while serving. I am providing the Code of Conduct and consequences. A Servicemember gives up many rights. They knowingly do it when they choose to serve. It doesn't matter the circumstances. Active protesting by a Servicemember is disallowed, and disobeying a direct order will immediately send you to an Article 32. When a Servicemember decides to disobey an order, they darn sure better make sure the order isn't legal. Very few orders qualify, and their entire life will be ruined if they're wrong. POTUS hasn't ordered DOD personnel to do anything illegal or unconstitutional--regardless of this stupid video--and the DOD personnel know it. So do those on the video. Theater. Trump calling the people's actions on the video 'seditious and traitorous' is also theater. He has no idea what he's talking about. Hyperbole by all.

I’m so over hearing the opting up to avoid certain schools in the district. BC has done well and being 10-1 is not easy know matter who you play. It’s a grind throughout the season and having to deal with injuries and still be able to finish where we did in district is great. Now that we beat chapel Hill and pretty much everybody said we would lose BC still getting hated on. This is SETX where when your school gets eliminated you start rallying behind the schools moving on in the area.

I fight fire with fire. Not the biggest. Just the most honest with the biggest spoon. Unlike most im rooting for a BC win. Im not sure a single thing I've posted about BC is fictional or non factual. Doesn't mean im hating im just pointing out the facts some or most are clearly turning the blind eye to. 🤣🤣

10-1* Should be 11-0, except for the game for which LCM coaches were disciplined by the UIL for cheating. It’s pretty hard to be much more dominant than that. What else could we have done? Win harder?

Since everyone else is picking Franklin. I'm gonna say Orangefield 34-31. Franklin goes in over confident plays a few back-ups trying to stay healthy for the game against Columbus. Falls behind and cant catch up. Orangefield and Hardin meet back up for the regional championship. LOL

If Crosby went for two and got it....would everyone still be mad about the call?? It very nearly worked, took a great play by the Consol defense to hold the QB out of the end zone....I dont mind a coach trusting his kids to go win the game there, espeically as a road underdog....same thing for Friendswood who was in the exact same scenario except they were on the 3 and not the 1.5 yard line.. Seems like Crosby has gotten better each of the last 3 years....4 of the 6 losses this year were by one score...

BC Defense will show up like every other week, BC needs some of the other offensive players to step up. The last 2 weeks BC has been plagued with dropped passes (unless it's thrown to Munguia)

Bridge City could win this one. Navasota will be similar in athleticism, but they won't run as vanilla of an offense as CH does. Bridge City plays hard...and that gives you a chance to win every week
