I'm taking Anahuac in this one 42-7! My Anahuac Panthers will start the season playing with heavy hearts and emotions Friday Night, they will be playing for their fallen teammates #82 and #6 all season. Please keep the Anahuac Panthers and the community of Anahuac in your hearts as the season goes on. Again thank you to the SETX Sports Family for the thoughts and prayers for the families of these fallen Panthers!

IDK. Coach talking about slowing the game down by using a four headed running back committee doesn't sound too promising. That's not winning college football in 2023. Our sister schools made investments into their football programs and are now FBS. Lamar continues to half-qrse things. I quit writing checks a few years ago because I'm sick of the less than mediocre results. Lamar, like the Beaumont area, just continues to get left behind while the rest of the state continues to move at warp speed. I still hate the move back to the SLC. What's Lamar gonna do when McNeese moves up? So disappointing...

You remember last year, when PN-G took the worst season opener loss in school history to Memorial, 50-15 in Port Neches, and then turned around and beat United 49-0 at BISD’s [insert name here] Stadium the very next week? Apparently nobody in 6A does.

For LCM, it's a win win situation - even by losing. If they lose, at the very least they get to play a (generally) quality opponent that helps them prepare for district. At the very best, if they win, David gets to knock Goliath right between the eyes for an historical win. I like the match-up. Fun for the community.

I've always said that wb and bu should be 5a. If both schools were we'd be in the playoffs every year. One or the other. Brook has some talented kids still there. Coaching has to get better. The kids have to get better. The community has to get better. whether they have one school or three schools, the kids and parents have to step up and do better. Kids getting kicked off teams, smoking weed and vaping, parents knowing about it and cant control them. It's alot that makes a successful program and its not just at the 50 yard line.

2nd time in a month or so that Mitch has a stroke while answering Q&A.. Is it time to enact age maximums, the same way we require age minimums? I think it’s time. 70 and 80 year olds, including Biden and Trump, have obvious and severe mental issues and are a threat to this country. Last time this topic was posted - I did recall all the 80 year old dinosaurs here being vehemently against it (they are the smart 80 year olds, duh, and not like the rest) while the relatively younger crowd agreed with me. @Reagan @LumRaiderFan - what do y’all think? Should we ban your classmates from running for office?

What do you think on the age minimum then (for president, at least)? Age 45-62 is the sweet spot in my opinion, but fine with 35 for a minimum. Old enough to have real experience, and young enough that your brain is still functioning properly

Indians should always play local talent in the pre-season. It allows the players to prepare for quality football teams without the worry of long travel prior to the game. This said, I will always support our Indians playing the Beaumont schools. You are more than welcome to "The Reservation" on Friday night. Great game for both teams. I am truly excited for this one. Hope both teams give their best effort every play. "INDIAN PRIDE FROM SIDE TO SIDE🏈"

Back to predictions... It's hard for me to judge what I saw in attendance at the Brazoswood @ BU game last week. Whether BU has improved or Brazoswood is just that bad. I'd like to lean to Coach Colbert having the Wolves heading in the right direction. If it wasn't for a 2 big plays given up in the 1st and 4th quarter, along with a FG being taken off the scoreboard and Wood punching it in for 7 on the next play, BU is 1-0. Some would say it's an upset but like "alwaysright" has stated, a 6A school should beat a 5A school. Wolves get their first win of the year Friday night...

I've been gone for a while since my oldest 2 graduated from BU in 2019 and 2020. The football program never had a chance when R. J. decided to make his buddy A. L. the first head coach of BU and follow that up with M. G. There was too much talent on that team, in 5A, to go 2-8. If the right coach is given the reigns the first year, I think we're talking about a different BU football program today...

Heard it was a pretty lack luster game for the eagles of BH. A win is a win though. Lets see all in the last week. BH 3- Atascocita 1 Atascocita 3- Huffman 0 Huffman 3- PNG 1 BH vs #11 PNG = ? Mom care to fill in the equation for us?

Both coaches have about the same perspective for their offense, don’t sputter. Coach Peevey believes that the Mustangs will try some “ trickeration trick play” I hope our coaches will expect the same from LCM

Don’t post much on the board anymore but I still come in from time to time. I moved (work related) but I always supported BISD sports and still do! Not going to lie I don’t remember Beaumont being this bad (Football wise) ever I don’t think. It was always at least one good team in the city. Now the season is still early and things could change but even last season it was something different. When Stowers left Central after going 4 rounds in 2009 I knew something was wrong. Central was going to be loaded with talent by a JV and Freshman team plus the ones already on varsity. When I talked to him he didn’t go into detail but mentioned how he had seen the writing on the wall from the admin of BISD, and I think the same could have been said for Stump when he left after being very successful at Westbrook. BISD was not willing to invest into the athletics like other school districts and when it came to Coaching hires, they always did the back door hiring the “friends” instead of the best candidates. Lord knows I loved Coach Andrew Washington but I think we all knew that was a comfort hire. Central won those games off talent, and when they played a better coached team it was never close. Westbrook with the talent they had starting in 2007 should have always been a powerhouse specially in this area Talent will never be an issue in Beaumont, don’t believe look at how many players are in the NFL just based on the last 10 years from Beaumont. It’s now on the Admin, Coaches and Parents. We need to invest in these kids. BISD Admin is more worried about doing things the cost efficient way, hiring coaches and building facilities, while letting great coaches leave. There is no way WB off a state championship game appearance should lose their HC to LCM (No offense). Parents are also imo a Huge factor in all this, (another story for another day). so in all it doesn’t matter if BISD had 1 HS or 5 if things don’t start getting better at the top and working it’s way down you will never see the success. There could be Beaumont HS and still be mediocre because we have an incompetent coach, sub par facilities, plus everything else that makes a successful program. That Athletic period must have changed within the last few years, in 2011 when my nephew was there he always talked about the athletic period. Smh Just hope a few kids get seen and get out individually. Sad to say

Third week in a row I've know about the film that was sent over because this is my 6th year having a son who plays varsity football at Crosby. My sophomore nephew got moved up to varsity and my freshman son will be up there next year. So for at least 29 more weeks in a row I will have HUDL logins to view the scout film that is sent over from opposing coaches and posted to the team account for the kids to study. I post things for the Crosby fans that are interested in their team. The reason people see me around town ask "So what do you think about this week?" or "How we looking?" is because they know I do stuff like get up Sunday mornings at 5AM to go sit in the mancave and watch film for three or four hours before I get on here posting what I think about a game.

You don’t understand football or coaching so I don’t expect you to get it! Your non district schedule isn’t about winning or losing you schedule to prepare you for district/playoff competition. But of course you wouldn't know things like this…playing PNG does nothing to prepare you for 21-6A level talent! If you can’t comprehend that then you should probably stick to your day job & stay off sports forums.

I think the majority of the athletes in all sports is at Lake Creek. I’m picking BH by 17.

I believe both teams are better than they were last year. BC will have a tough time stopping Buna’s run game. When they stack the front their QB will burn them. It will be a good game. I do not think BC wants a shootout.

I conceded the point of playing the PN-Gs of the world doesn't help. Playing Alvin and Brazoswood doesn't help you either. And like I said, the current coach was hired late so he had no say in the scheduleing. So you would schedule 3 Houston area teams plus have a Houston area district schedule in spite of possible budgetary constraints. Aight den..... Sorry for the highjack pn-g fans

Who cares about your current district. Nobody cares, I’m talking about United and West Brook if they drop down to 5A. we got plenty of state championships my man. Open your eyes up past football and basketball. We can compare overall state championship in a number of sports if you want to go that route. Heck, we can even talk about education too if that tickles your fancy, but I don’t think you want that smoke.😂😎

Yes. I am product of BISD. Ozen should've never been created. It opened my senior year at WB (Fall 1997) That was Thomas' decision. Things were fine like they where. Clearly someone was in his ear, as he was not a Beaumont guy. The wanted to bring the old Pear orchard high back.

Agreed bmt severely needs one school, a purge of the coaching staffs at every level (middle schools included) & adequate administrators that knows how to lay a foundation to build a successful athletic program. The weight room at United is literally still the same one I worked out in & I graduated in 2009 smh. Also BISD is literally the only schools in 21-6A that doesn’t have block schedule, why is block scheduling so important? It allows you to literally get two practices in per day if you use the 90 min athletic period properly. There’s literally no way possible to have a productive athletic period with you only get 50 mins to practice. Even worse when you’re the only team in the district that doesn’t have a 90 min athletic period

HJ to Anahuac? SETX baseball is a tight-knit world, I heard there were some other issues as well. Hopefully he leaves the alleged stat-padding, offspring-privileged approach in HJ. To be nice, I did say alleged.
