Parish Episcopal beat LBJ handily back in September, and also beat Aledo, then lost a close one to SOC, also in September. So that's sort of a comparison using high school football logic. I've seen recent press articles that indicate SOC has some injured players now, particularly on offense, but apparently it's still the same old defense. LBJ was very athletic, undisciplined, and played a sandlot style of football, and IMO was the dirtiest playing team PNG has seen to date. But I think the toughest playoff game was with FBM. With all due respect for Liberty Hill, last Friday was sort of a vacation for PNG. IMO if PNG can beat LBJ, then they can beat SOC, but everyone has to be on top of their game, including whoever plays center. No bad snaps, no turnovers, Crippen has a good game, along with a solid defense, and PNG can win it. I think that if this team really wants it, they can take it to SOC.

PNG Football Throwback Thursday

FW Chapter is one the better chapters in the state minus the crew that did last night's game.

Mitchell is great! However, the team just isn't quite as talented as a few he's had in years' past. If they even make the playoffs this season, it would be one of Mitchell's best coaching jobs.

I can agree with your first paragraph, but when CT a took over as HC he didn’t try and change everything that had worked for 3 decades. Also the ones after him weren’t after him because of his coaching abilities or football decisions.

#5 for Albany can really run. He’s a heckuva athlete. Big kid too. He could play for just about any program in Texas. #4 is a brute too. Mart needs to stop being cute, and just run #2 between the tackles. Then occasionally get #4 the ball in space. You can tell they have never had to sustain drives. They probably just big play the hell out of everybody.

PN-G/SOC is getting a Fort Worth Chapter crew but not this crew. No crew will do multiple state games. There will be chapters that do multiple games but not crews.

How in the heck did that officiating crew call that a fumble recovered by Mart?!! Not a single Mart player got his hands on the ball. Good thing that replay is in play or that would have been terrible. Had this game been played in semifinal, that would have gone down as one of the worst calls ever.

Would agree but we've faced speed with. FBM and LBJ. Faired pretty well. SOC has played stronger teams I believe so they do have that advantage. Plus, SOC D backs are the best in the country, that is gonna be tough to over come. PNG is playing good ball right now so I am hoping we over come the disadvantages. Tenacity 'til the end! Go PNG!

Feeling good about PNG Football right now. From what I have seen starting the year to now, this team has peaked at the State Championship game. There will be a mass of people at this game.
