Nederland and PNG generally have the same type athletes. Not a lot of D1 guys walking the halls of either school. It’s all about system and culture for both schools. That’s coaching.

I have tried to explain a million times. It’s not arrogance, cockiness, or disrespect. It’s simply SWAG. I started out my school days on an election year. The teachers gave us a choice to be republican, democrat, or independent. I chose Independent simply because it allowed me to wear an I on my shirt all day, of course it was crayoned purple. It’s said we are taught Cherokee day 1. That’s actually a myth, we all knew it by heart before the alphabet. Most will never understand, I have even heard of us being called the “The Purple Cult”… once again, it’s just misunderstood. Ironically, our rivals understand it the best. That’s why you see all of mid county supporting our games. I grew up in the 80s, hearing about the 70s, in a time we were led by a great guy, just not a good coach. That all changed in 89. In came Danny Malone. And he brought that SWAG back, Burnett carried it on, Fairclothe carried the torch, now Joseph continues the tradition. So what started out as playing football at recess, dreaming of being an Indian, ends with a shot at a SC this Friday. We are no longer a powerhouse, we are not a place people want to move or transfer to, we are just PNG Indians. Not the biggest, fastest, or strongest. Just a team playing with heart and support. These kids are dogs, they come to play and don’t quit. Always the underdog, yet playing week 16. A proud community, wanting a SC and that attendance record back. So for all of you who don’t understand us, we don’t expect you too. But we will say this, come be part of the family Friday night. You won’t regret the experience. A big joke on this board is ATMOSPHERE…. Come be part of it Friday, and make history. You won’t regret it. No matter what team or color you represent or bleed, we are one big ole family this Friday. Peace…. love…..

I want to make the trip from Orange up there but not sure if it will work out, may have to watch at home. Either way this Mustang will be pulling for you! I’ve always had tons of respect and admiration for PN-G. The history, the culture, the die hard fanatic fans, it’s everything that Texas high school football should be. Please don’t ever change anything. Go Indians!!!

I would like to say a BIG thank you to all of our SETX family for your support. Please join us and be a part of the PNG family next Friday night. We appreciate you all and those who can make it. My buddy says leaving Houston at that time on a friday... expect 5-5.5 hours. They actually go thru Waco and ft worth. I always preferred Waxahachie, Midlothian, then straight up the toll road to Arlington. But we always left the day or night before, then had a short drive to the stadium that morning. Whatever you do, be safe. Arrive Alive! That goes for everyone from around the area and state. Safe travels and be sure to stop at Buc-ee's

Pete Ragusa is a top 5 player in the area and should get more love, kid put a lot of work in this summer , keep showing em’ soon enough they’ll come around !!!!

Most talented part of the country IMO. Throw in SOC and Cedar Hill which are very close. Couple that with loose restrictions on where kids go to school, or even worse, people turning a blind eye to where kids go to school, and you have loaded rosters.

Obviously the L-Train would have taken a big L against Boerne if they would have played them. But I can't help but be happy that Chappell Hill got B-slapped last night. Sometimes you get to see fan bases get what they deserve. Not always, but last night was one of them.

I looked at the 10 year forecast. With the growth going on in Texas, especially with the numbers pouring through our southern border, this just looks like numbers that would keep pace with the upper limit of 4A D1. Maybe if this turns out to be true, they squeeze into 5A D2 in or around 2030. Maybe! This doesn't show the growth at the exponential rate that say, the Austin area or even Barbers Hill has seen in recent years.

Same amount of time. Aledo has been able to beat most of the 5A D1 schools and a lot of 6a schools for a while now though. No surprise here.

I'll say this, if UIL ever starts determining classifications based on# of houses built or population growth, Lumberton is in trouble. But because UIL only looks at enrollment in grades 9-12, Lumberton will rain in 4A for the foreseeable future.

Listening to the guys from Austin, Westlake lost their starting QB, three Olinemen, and that WR was playing hurt. I don't know if it's a testiment to Westlake's depth and or the weakness of the region overall......

What it once was… As in winning state 3 of 4 years… well yeah probably not lol but competitive and making good playoff runs yes.

SOC will have an elite defense, and a subpar offense. If PNG can eliminate the big play, they can win. They won’t score much against SOC. SOC will be very fast and physical. IMO, they are very sound on defense. Couple that with great players and lots of speed, and they will be tough. On offense, SOC is it very good. Huge up front. College sized kids, but over weight, and lazy. Their QB is not very good either, but at any point, with their speed, they can make a house call.

Why do these ADs try to make hero hires? An O Line coach from New York? If they passed on Barbay for this guy O’Malley needs to be fired immediately. I understand Lamar isn’t the most enticing job, but we could’ve done better. This will be no different than Morgan.

Thank you for confirming moderates have no core political beliefs that they hold to. They can be swayed by the smooth talkers or vote against the best candidate simply because they don’t like them. The party platforms are vastly different and how someone can flip from one to the other can only be explained by them voting for who they like or against who they don’t like, policies never enter into it for many. It’s a very powerful low information voting bloc.

I would say a more PREPARED group of kids. Lots of kids back from last year, but the defense is 100% better. This years team is a TEAM. The DC has done excellent preparation for each game. The kids are in the right places at the right times, but all that is nothing if they can't tackle, and like Chief Joseph said, these kids are playing with great effort. GREAT EFFORT. You can see it, you can FEEL it in the stadium. Every struggle in every game makes them better. This team has FIGHT and they don't give up. I think that's a credit to the Coaches, the players, the parents, and the community. But you know all this. You're a PNG Indian. Has anyone noticed that there are no names on the backs of jersey's? I like it. They usually have them on for the 1st playoff game.

Png kicker has a d1 future. Just went a watched some highlights. They were damn near all him. Qb and wr have nice connection too. 45 yd FG in high school is 🔥🔥🔥
