What you can’t put a number on is the character the kids learn from playing for Matthews. Believe it or not, there’s more to HS football (sports) than winning or losing. I love those arguments that's its only one player. Take away that stud RB or that great QB from Crosby that season and they wouldn't have even been in the game against PNG. Its all the same. Rochon was a PNG Indian. I will never understand an argument that says well if you wouldn't have had that guy. If Matt Burnett was our coach he would have been a RB. Faircloth designed a great system around Rochon to make it to three third round trips. I would say you are doing a disservice to our receiver in Preston Riggs who was all state in 3 different sports. That's 3 different sports. He went on to college in another sport with coaches still reaching out to him years later to come plat football. This is also the same group of kids that won the State Championship in Baseball and combined with some of our fellow Nederland players to win the world series in Babe Ruth. The 2017 PNG graduating class won more games than ant other graduating class in our history. Ever. Across all sports. Remember Coach Faircloth was the AD over all of them on the boys side including deciding to hire and outsider in Coach Carter in Baseball.

When I am teaching the Penal Code at the police academy, I actually make up a scenario like this to distinguish between Murder, Manslaughter and Criminally Negligent Homicide. If you shoot and kill someone, it could be any of those which range from two years maximum to 99 years. One of the scenarios is that you were shooting a gun and accidentally hit someone a good distance away that you did not even know was there. Fortunately this girl appears to be suffering from a minor injury but it could have been a lot worse.

I honestly think so too, but it goes for any team. Its hard to win games when you get one dimensional. I mean look at LSU last Saturday, Auburn sold out on the pass cause they knew the Tigers had no run game in the second half, and came back and won. You have to be somewhat balanced in any type of offense, if you want to win.

That's the only thing bad about run heavy offenses, once you get behind those sticks, it's basically a drive killer.

I would not automatically discredit a well renowned cardiologist because he is not a “pulmonologist”, but that’s up to you. He presented very compelling data directly from the CDC and other’s websites. I’m not going to relay or translate the information just to continue a debate. One fact that he did point out though, on December 10, 2020 the Trusted News Initiative was established which was basically a collaborative agreement from most of the news and social media outlets in the world that they would squash any “covid misinformation” that would hinder the vaccine effort. My question to you, who within the media is qualified to determine what is accurate? Would it be their staff pulmonologist? 🙃

My take..... There will always be something that affects a football roster. Back to football if we can. If rosters stay the way they were, I don't care of the situations. The difference in this game would be whether or not Silsbee Offense can find it's rhythm. The defense will do it's thing and create opportunities. Can Silsbee sustain a 4th Qtr now? Can Silsbee gain its identity? They are a young defense, but 6 weeks in it's time to put that excuse to bed and make the adjustments. Can WOS survive its own bite? Is this that year? Crazy district shakeup? Every team has it's challenges. I for one am looking forward to this game. Time to ball.
