Coming from a former band parent, and football parent, I hate watching halftime.

Considering they won by 9 its a mathematic impossibility that one TD won them the game

I agree, everybody looks like world beaters against this HJ team. We have a LONG way to go regardless of how we looked against a down HJ team. We still have WAY to many penalties and we are WAY too undisciplined. We still MUST develop and work on our passing game because we are not going to line up and run over teams with equal talent. We have a good line and great backs but a talented team can game plan to stop the run and force the pass and we have to be able to mix it up. Big difference in passing when you want and passing when the run isn't working. You won't beat the Carthages of the world without being able to force them to respect the pass.

The hail mary before the half was a kick to the nuts. Again there is no way with 8 seconds left you can complete a pass and have the runner round for another 15 yards and there still be one second left. The clock operator should be fired today ,you absolutely can not leave a second on the clock. On top of that the DBs have to knock the ball down, not go for the TD or try to tip it up. Terrible. #2 played a great game until the fumble with 4:30 to go in the game and that was the opening Crosby needed. He got hit from behind by a DB if I am not mistaken which was a great play. BH's D needed to step up instead they let Crosby got score a TD in less than a minute. The offensive series after the recovered onside kid was bad. #2 came off with the game on the line needing a first down during gut check time that would have sealed the game. I'm not sure why BH was shocked the ball was either going to 14 or #10 was going to keep in there on the last few plays. I would have sold out to stop both of them and if someone else beat me then so be it.

The Crosby High School Facebook page has a video from that corner of the endzone. Their was actually another ref just to the right of the pylon that looked at this ref and they both agreed he made it in. If I knew how to post the video, I would. But to answer your question, no that is not 14.2. He is atleast a foot shorter and 50 lbs heavier than that ref.

😄 Sad but true. Vidor plays best as the underdog. If they can learn to play when they are favored then that would be nice. I think they get one step closer to clearing that hurdle this year

Yes, will be the premier game of week one of district play. The Bears are so improved most (myself included) slept on them earlier. I’m now convinced they’ll be somewhere in the top three. IMO, between HH, Liv, LCM & Vidor any of those teams could beat the other three. Parity with a capital P.

LCM at Huffman next week will tell us alot

Why does BH put their band in one of the end zones ? They had room in the stands. I’m just glad our coaches picked the opposite end during the overtime. Smart move. And by the way, all those deep balls that BH completed the first half, they never went back to that in the 2nd half. NOT a smart move.

Watching it on Texan Live in real time it looks like he’s in. I’m just trying to figure out why nobody is pointing to Hagler fumbling and then BH giving up two TD drives prior to that though? Line Jude on the BH side was horrible. Called back Kirkwood’s TD on a phantom hold. Definitely the worst officiated game I’ve see in quite some time at the varsity level.

That was our most uninspired performance of the year. Didn’t execute very well, turned it over, ridiculous amount of penalties and acted like we were surprised BH wasn’t going to just let us win. We usually have one of these a year in district play, I hope to God this one was it.

It's HJ Liberty beat HJ last week 49-0 Mustangs are still the top dog in the district, but again, it's just HJ.

Coaches jumping up and down on the BH in the middle of the field is trash.

We're not gonna win much if the coaching staff doesn't get the offense figured out. We haven't consistently struggled like this in years. Gotta give the Bears credit, though. They're playing very well.

Don’t get me wrong. The Hagler fumble ended up being a killer. We may could have scored that drive potentially putting the game out of reach. The ensuing drive after was the real killer for BH. That whole drive by Crosby was assisted by at least 40 yards in BH penalties! Crosby came back and wasn’t going to be denied. Best game I’ve witnessed in a long time though. It should have never come down to that call, but it did and hate for any team to lose on a call. Congrats to Crosby on the win👍

One of those ironies I pointed out in a previous post. Vidor beats WOS when they shouldn’t, then lose to the Houston HS for Pygmys.

Silsbee will have to do something different at w.o.some of the things they run want work against w.o.cant just run the stretch play with dodd and then try Play action over the top with miller.they have athletes that matches up with that.dodd and Miller are studs.but they have too mix it up if they have any chance.and Brisbane want have the time to throw the deep ball.let him throw short passes they have gud athletes.and Silsbee has to stop the running game with Zeigler coming back.all abt controlling the line of scrimmage

Dayton is getting closer to being “back”. They probably needed to win this one to get into the playoffs this year but what I will say is that they’re definitely not the easy out they have been in recent years. I think coach Ware has things going the right way over there.

Man that second half was ugly on both sides. The field was nasty. But Jasper coaching appeared not to care at the end game to get in a 2 min offense. Illegal formation and delay of game is on the coach just my IMO

Most games are decided by the big uglies in the trenches. This is true in high school ball, college and in the pros. PAM lost to Crosby because their O line got their butts whipped all night and they gave sanders absolutely no time to throw down field similar to Mahomes in the superbowl last year. Barbers hill has a much better O line and they're holding their own so far which is letting Barbers Hills Qb take advantage of a horrendous Crosby secondary. Still lots of time left but Crosby won't stop those deep passes unless they put more bodies out in coverage but ofcourse that'll open up the run game so we'll see who wants it more in the 2nd half.

I just love HS football. I used to be an unrealistic Nederland Fan. Crosby is not a dominant team. They are a good team. So is BH, So is TC, So is PNG, So is Nederland. IMO Nederland is WAY overrated this year. I hope I'm wrong. I just don't see us as the #7 team in 5a D2.
