I want to apologize for the delay in getting scoreboard and game threads updated this week. WOSGrad did most of the updating of the scores. That job now is on me and my wife. We were not able to attend those duties due to our son getting married this weekend. We hosted the rehearsal dinner Friday night and the wedding was Saturday evening, all down here at the beach. We were very busy to say the least. I am just now getting the scoreboard updated. Will attend to the game threads and pickems later today or tomorrow. I apologize for this inconvenience. We are doing the best we can to try to fill those big shoes Grad left us. Please be patient with us. Again, I am sorry.

That’s really sad, especially with them being in the medical profession. One would think they would be in lockstep with the Gestapo, but they stood up and look what happened. There will be lawsuits.

Dayton will score more than 6. If you were at the Crosby game then you would know why I say this. If Dayton had our coaching staff they would be a top 4 seed in the district in my honest opinion. They look like trash on paper but the proof is in the pudding. They have the size, speed, skill level to compete but where they lack is in the coaching staffs ability to put together the rest of the pie.. I agree that PNG can and probably will beat Dayton, but nowhere near the drumming that Crosby handed them in the first half. I'd expect a 14-21 point difference, no more.

I knew Crosby would start rolling. when Carthage played Crosby, after the game I knew that front 4 on defense would be the best we would see all year. The Crosby QB just needed time and games and the running back is the real deal. I think Crosby will be playing deep into the playoffs.

Adam has completed 85 of his 128 passes for 1177 yards and 10 TDs and rushed for another with 5 ints. His Reddies team is 4-0 and scored more than 50 points in the last three games. Before tonights game his QBR was in the 180s and tonight it was 127. He has turned into a very good QB for Henderson State setting up a huge matchup between them and the only other undefeated team in conference. The Reddies were ranked number 18 in the nation before tonight, Congrats to Adam on what looks to be an outstanding record breaking s3eason for his team.

I think Crosby needs to play as good as they did against PAM. I don’t think you can go off the performance against Dayton, just because Dayton played so bad, they made Crosby look good.

Absolutely, I believe it 100% And anyone that knows me outside the board knows my dislike for Dayton, but I had to be honest and lay it out. If Dayton can figure out the wrinkles in the coaching issues, then they may be on the rebound.

Like BHfan alluded to, if Crosby brings pressure Holdren is probably going to throw it to us multiple times. If Crosby shuts down the run game the way we have on everybody except Manvel I don't think he is the Jamar Sanders type player that can beat you by himself. One thing I like that Crosby did was to adjust to Dayton going quick in the passing game after Dayton initially adjusted to Crosby's pass rush. Womack's pick was due to Dayton's QB forcing a bad throw with pressure in his face but three of the other four picks were guys jumping routes after our defenders started to realize Denton didn't have time to look guys off. Without the escapability of Manvel or PAM's QBs you may see a similar performance from BH's QB this week. The kids heard a lot of chatter over the Summer about what they weren't supposed to be able to do. I think they have a huge chip on their shoulder and are out to prove people wrong this year. I've probably seen Crosby and Dayton play 25 times and have never seen either team get handled like that. Only thing I remember close to it was the 49-7 game in the playoffs.

All the yards except for a little over 20 was by their qb.There defense was a little stingy though.I think every one is in it except BC,HJ.

Well I respectively disagree with you because strength and conditioning has a lot to due to football success. Orangefield isn't one of those schools that has the luxury of not having players start both ways but their intensity is the same in the 1st qtr as it is in the 4th. AND if yall need a trailer house moved over there just come to our fieldhouse 😉

Vidor has one kid who maxed out at 640 I believe at the regional meet. That kid happens to be a pretty good DT. Not every team has that either but it’s even less common to have 2 kids squatting at least 650 on the same team. Especially one of those being a RB lol. This is at the 4A D2 level btw.

I believe he was referring to #32 Hunter Ashworth which is their FB. If he gets untouched for 3 yards then it is going to take half the team to take him down due to his strength. If you seen him play you would understand the statement. He is also explaining why the blocking is effective this year. You did ask what's up with OF. #40 Dischler has greatly improved and he is awesome to watch in the backfield. Not to mention the passing game has greatly approved.

I agree and I said the same thing last year that I would like to see it happen especially with this Sr squad. Our coaches are friendly and they like this Slot T Mafia theme but it would be an interesting game to see this years teams go at it. Maybe we can make it a Slot T Bowl game? Meanwhile do us a favor and avenge us by beating Livingston 😁

Their preseason schedule was very weak. Manvel was a tournament opponent, who appeared to handle them. Summer Creek is currently 3rd in their district and if the season ended today both CL and Taylor would not be in the playoffs. The 29-3 record looks good at face value, but when you see that a lot of those wins are against low-level teams, it takes a lot of the luster off.

The big question for Crosby at the beginning of the year was would they be as good only returning 6 starters from that great team one year ago. Still not sure if their as good, but they are more balanced not relying on a couple of superstars to take them to the next level. The Big question for BH of course was will Abseck have the Eagles competing in time for district? I think he is close adding new wrinkles to the offense each week. Crosby will be a huge test and I still give them a 14 point edge going Into this contest. BH will have to come in with the perfect game plan to offset the stingy Crosby defense and play great defense to hold them at bay. In other words Crosby is the better team on paper in all facets of the game and BH will have to be nothing but perfect to win.

It is not technology. It is because there is no one there that is paid to do it. The local news media now is almost nonexistent compared to what it was. That is from regular news to sports to whatever. You can go to any of the local media Facebook pages and see dozens or even hundreds of comments about an incident. Then someone will ask, what about the details, which way did they run, what do they look like, etc. and why wasn’t that information in there? more than likely the reason is, the story was not from a reporter. It was likely from a news release from a police department and sometime copied word for word or it is rewritten saying the same thing. A reporter probably did not show up at the scene although I do see them on rare occasion. I have brought this up before usually in another forum. As a police officer when I used to show up at some kind of major incident (house fire, shooting, robbery, etc.) 30 years ago, once the scene was secured, one of the next steps was to set up an area for the media. They naturally wanted to get close to the scene where they could take pictures or talk to witnesses. I could show up at a large house fire at 2 AM and within about 30 minutes I might be talking to reporters from the Beaumont Enterprise and Port Arthur News and also from the three local television stations. So I would have at least five reporters asking questions and wanting to know details. I think they used to have at least one junior reporter listening to the police and fire scanners at night. I have had a few reporters called me and tell me that they just heard something on the radio and wanted to know if it was worth showing up at the scene. I would not be surprised if any officer that has less than 15 years of experience, has ever talked to or even seen a reporter at a major scene. They surely would not know what I was talking about if I walked up to one and said, where is the media area going to be. I believe it is the same way as sports. At one time the papers had full staffs of reporters for all kinds of new stories. I would not be surprised if newspapers have lost 80% or more of their reporters. I think the technology is what killed it. The news media no longer depends on hiring several persons to drive to locations to find out what is happening. That includes local sports. They have not completely vanished and there are still reporters but they have certainly been cut way back. In my opinion.

LCM looked really good last night. If the oline blocks well they will beat Jasper. LCM rolled up almost 600 yards offense last night. I expect the D1 prospect to have a big game too.
