I’m just here to say that silsbee made it further than Jasper... that’s is all 😂

I would like to commend the Mustang players, band and fans, although outmanned, they gave it their all. They never gave up and fought to the very last play. The Mustangs and community are winners.

Moment of clarity... Silsbee didn’t get consistently better until they brought in Coach Smith, who I don’t believe anybody is comparing to Surratt.... the consistent athletic talent level in Silsbee camouflaged some subpar coaching for years, in my opinion. I think Jasper is possibly in the same spot.

It's not hard to contain or stop the run game when its known your pass game is Weak... CS did a great job at stopping the run..Jasper is a one damental team.

I think that is what was lost in Carthage moving down. It was "Oooh, Region III is so hard now that Carthage has dropped to DII!" And I certainly am not trying to discount Carthage's effect on Region III but they are not the only stout team that moved down. And, yes, one of them is China Spring.....the same China Spring that had some recent pitched battles with La Vega before moving down. I know there is at least one WO-S fan and alum that doesn't see the Mustangs' road to a date with Carthage being any easier due to what happened tonight in Crockett. In fact, with due respect to my Jasper friends, it may have just gotten harder.

China Spring has an excellent quarterback and tailback that we couldn't stop. They were up 3-0 after the first quarter and it looked like it was gonna be a good, low scoring game and then our wheels came off. They were faster than we are on both sides of the ball, no question. I'm looking forward to seeing how they measure up to WO-S. I love good football and that's gonna be a fantastic ball game.

This news sucks! Coach Babin was a great coach and a better man. He did a lot of little things to keep the kids involved in the community and groom them into good young men. When I graduated high school I didn’t follow football at all anymore (mainly cause Lumberton sucked lol) but as soon as I heard the news of Babin being back I started going to games. And now I’m a High school football fanatic like the rest of you crazy people on here. I’ve followed Lumberton, Silsbee in the playoffs, seen WOS play in the state championship 3 times along with Newton. A love for high school football all started with simply hearing about a coach I loved playing for being back. While I saw this coming from several conversations I’ve had with him in the past, it still sucks. As a raider fan and former player I know what we are losing. My only hopes going forward are that we can make a good hire, and even more importantly that Coach Babin can land a good coaching spot near his son. Best believe I’ll still be keeping up with him!! oh, and Lumberton, please don’t screw this choice up and end up 0-10 like the old days!

It wasn’t a shot at PA. Talking about how the wheels fell off late in the game with their main guns going both ways. I was rooting for Memorial. 🤷🏾‍♂️ But let me ask you a question. Did Memorial win like you wanted them to? Did you have anything negative to say about them or the coaching THIS week like you do every week?

Really thought HD defense looked the best it has all year. There are several plays that come to mind but two big plays that stand out that really hurt HD was the 1Q fumble when HD was inside the red zone of WS and the in the 3 Q when HD fumbled inside the 15 of WS. Those were game changing plays that should have resulted in points. But regardless these kids played hard and WS got the W. So congratulations and good luck to WS.

Like I said last week, kind of expected a little more from the district? I hope we’re just THAT good? I don’t expect PNG to provide much resistance next week either.

@RaiderGirl2010 broke his heart by going to Silsbee games this year and the ones she showed up at Lumberton cost him bad luck!

I always marvel at those who wish a coach who has built a program to be much more than it was before he got there to leave. It is like they have memory loss of what the program was before. This is not directed solely at you, Pho because there are many who seem to follow that path.

From AD/HC Chris Babin: Sixteen months ago, my wife and I made the challenging decision to move our son to Houston in order to allow him to pursue his gifts and passion for dance. We made this decision for our son, putting aside my personal needs while prioritizing our son’s future. My son is flourishing; however, as a devoted father and husband, I must reunite with my family. With this being said, I have resigned from my position as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Lumberton ISD. I step aside at this early point in the school year to give LISD the opportunity to find a new leader of the Raider Athletic Program. I do not resign under any pressure; this decision was mine alone. Dr. Tipton has served as a great mentor and means of support through this challenging year. I write this letter to the community of Lumberton to issue a sincere “Thank you”. I became a resident of Lumberton at the age of ten. As a Raider athlete, I played in 55 football games, ran in 40 track meets, and lifted in 27 powerlifting meets. As an employee at Lumberton, I coached in nearly 300 football games, 100 softball games, 60 powerlifting meets, and 60 track meets. When I became the leader of the Raider Athletic Program in 2015, my ultimate goal was to create an overall athletic program that the Lumberton community could be proud of. With a focus on character, class, work ethic, and toughness, I approached every day of my tenure here with intensity and passion. I can proudly state that my time as the athletic director in Lumberton has forged countless positive relationships with athletes, parents, and community members; I value these relationships most of all. I depart this district grateful for the opportunity to have impacted your son or daughter. Raider colors will always run through my veins.
