Anyone with half a brain could tell you that HD will not beat any evadale team by 3 TD’s ever HD quarterback and running backs carry them but evadales O/D line will eat y’all up just wait till 7 Friday night

I figure the Rebels are the true winners no matter what the score is this week. They get to play on the "best grass field in America", heck they'll probably tell they're grandchildren about it. What a privilege. 😂

One thought is that Jacksonville is not a good gauge of where Nederland is. Nederland should have scored 100 on them, as bad as Jacksonville was.

No smack talking, because there is no way I can be at the game! And, no, watching on internet, or listening on radio is, in no way, the same thing. PNG will execute offense, score points & compete, as usual. Nederland will put up points, play defense & compete , as usual. That is as excited as I can get without season ticket holder access to tickets. This is the first MCM game I will have missed in 55 years. The only guarantee I can make, on the outcome of this one, is that my presence at the game will not be a factor. May God bless both teams & keep everyone injury free!!!👍

Evadale by 6, HD has not been impressive at all. The two teams they have played and won are bad. One was a Christian school and was the very first game. The loses they have are from teams that only win so far this season have came by beating HD. I think someone is a little overly hyped about HD this year. I guess because they have been dominated by Evadale in the past and it hurts!

The feedback I have heard was that practice was much better this week. I think that has a lot to do with how well the teams perform. Defensively, I don't think Lumberton scores a lot on this defense but they probably won't get shut out. Offensively, I think Huffman is focused on execution this week. They aren't scoring at the same rate as last year and they know it. The defense and special teams (punting has been outstanding) has overperformed and that won't last forever. If the offense has figured some things out and scores quick, this could be a solid win. And I'm gonna say it, the officiating has been better this year than last year. There has been a couple missed calls but overall, it seem like the officiating has been fair. Which means, this game is probably where that luck runs out. The best quote I read was either here or on the Friday Night app: "I have never not been disappointed by the refs." Of course this is just a worthless observation.

Yeah that must be it. Evadale has won 3 games out of the 16 total matchups all time. It’s hard for us to sleep at night knowing we’ve been dominated by Evadale and only have a 13-3 all-time record against them

Piggy go back to your hole you crawled out of, DV and HD actually have good teams. I agree the rest of the district is weak. But it is 2A D-2 ball, not gonna have the WOS or Jasper play lol. Just look at teams in District 9, like Detroit, Clarksville, Cumby, Sims Bowie and Quinlan Boles they are terrible. Frost is terrible in District 10, these bad district 9 and 10 teams are probably as bad as Burkeville and Sabine Pass. So it's not just our District that has bad teams.

The loss means Vidor is running uphill instead of downhill. Friday we’ll see if they have heart.

The Q, the RB and even their H back #9 are all extremely dangerous. There is no arm tackling that big dude and when a linebacker actually gets in his way the kid dishes out pancakes with or without the ball. I feel like this could be a long night for the Indians. And I am a big Bost fan. I just cannot see him being able to outscore Nederland this season. Big Ned has a big physical Defense like most Nederland teams in the past. This year they happen to have some horses and physical players on Offense to go with it. good luck to both teams. Always an exciting fun game to attend.

Excellent point. A coach does not just stumble up on 760 wins. If it was that easy every coach would reach that level. A coach can't just roll out the ball and let his payers run then go into the office & mark off another day toward retirement. Sigler had to manage attitudes & egos, on & off the team. In the stands. He took what he had and adapted his talent to his system. He sells his teams on playing defense. He gets a team full of relatively short runners he gets them to trap and press. Defense is consistent. Kid rolls in with a good but streaky jump shot. Homemade shot developed on the concrete at 21st, or Waldo Matthews, 9th street, when I was a boy. Mom ain't got no $thousands to hire a shooting coach. The player hits his open shots beautiful. When he is missing, defense. Trap and press, all the way to regional finals, all the way to SA. All the way to back to back state championships. I'm watching a APSU game early in the season last year. Player on the opposing team throws a cross court pass. Jay Adams breaks on the ball and takes it the other way for a lay up. The player from the other team hadn't watched Silsbee basketball video. Probably never heard of Silsbee or their coach. Adams gets loose the rest of the season, hits jumpers. Runs beautiful lay ups. Makes a name for himself. The influence of his high school coach played a part in all that.

If Neds D can slow down the QB and passing game I like thier chances. Ned has shown that they can put up plenty of points.

Update: Dogfighting ring squashed. Reports from CBS affiliate KWOS and the Jasper Sheriff's department confirm a brutal dogfighting ring exposed earlier has been shut down.
