Carthage belongs in 5a.. lol

Have you seen 'Welcome to Wrexham'?  It's on HULU.  I actually think it's pretty good.  Anyway.. I didn't know this beforehand but in this setting, soccer teams actually move up "classifications" or down depending on the previous year's season results.  The premise is that this particular football (soccer) club is trying to be promoted into the next leagues up.  I like it.

I said that to say this.. That's soccer European Soccer.  This is Texas Football.  Even if Carthage is clearly dominant in their classification, it's still their classification regardless.  I understand what you're saying, though.

Anyone else wondering how this team beat Cuero?

I don’t know if Region 3 isn’t as strong as we thought, or what?!

But you would think that Cuero, Silsbee and a few others would be able to out athlete and have much more speed than Wimberley.   I feel Wimberley is fairly well coached, but seem to lack athletes.

That said, I’m not sure anyone will beat Carthage next year either.   They have said for years that the current freshman, and sophomore classes are great.

    • Tim Erickson from Orangefield….
    • Lucky for Orangefield there’s only 3 games max to play.    Someone said they had a pitcher or 2 throw 90’s but I don’t know that for a fact.  Rumors.   it appears that Orangefield will see some faster pitchers this round. Generally speaking I haven’t been too impressed with Orangefield opponents pitching. Only pitcher so far that was fast (92 mph) was vs Woodville in first game & Orangefield got several runs off of him.    Looking for a good series with no injuries for both teams.
    • Apologies if this is a stupid question, but why would they just not renew his contract for the 24/25 school year if he had multiple write-ups? I know teachers and paraprofessionals don't get their contract renewed if their performance is bad enough - are coaches' contract situations different?

    • It’s very difficult to fire an educator.  It’s not difficult to reassign them and put them in a situation where they’re likely to leave on their own.  I’m not sure of the legality of exposing an employee’s work records, but it seems likely it’s not allowed if nothing criminal took place.
