  1. Think about this. What in the name of hypocrisy is this by the Atlanta DA’s Office and the Mayor of Atlanta: ~ A TALE OF TWO INCIDENTS~ * Just last week, 5 Atlanta Police Officers were fired for using a taser to remove two college students from a car. Officers were fired because the Atlanta District Attorney's Office deemed the officer’s use of the taser in this case constituted DEADLY PHYSICAL FORCE. * Last night, a suspect who failed a field sobriety test and deemed Driving While Intoxicated resists arrest, fights with police, steals the officers taser (robbery) and escapes. During the pursuit, the suspect turns and fires the taser at the officer's head and was subsequently shot and killed. The Atlanta Mayor calls for the officer to be fired because he used unjustified deadly physical force against a taser. BURNING QUESTION: Why are the same people claiming that using a taser is considered Deadly Physical Force when it was used BY a police officer but not Deadly Physical Force when it was used AGAINST a police officer by a suspect? 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐

  2. This guy failed a field sobriety test and should have went to jail. But he fought the police, stole a stun gun, ran, then turned and tried to shoot an officer with the stun gun. How is any of the above considered OK?!? The media is trying to make it sound like he was shot for sleeping in the drive through!

  3. The first time I saw this story yesterday, there were 2 videos. One from a car parked on the side of the action. Those people didnt seem to mind until shots were fired and they said "hey we gots kids in here." The 2nd video started as the man broke loose and began running. Then 3 shots, and the cameraman began screaming something like this. "Why you shot him? That's fd up. He wasn't doing nothin. Killed him for no reason. Yall are fd now. Yall just lost your career. Cold blooded murderers." I wish I would have posted that one. I think that the man should have taken the L and went on to jail. He was obviously wrong for trying to fight the police. Fight them in court, the justice system is still in place. Live to fight another day. Now someone will put a flower on his grave. Its sad that this had to happen.

  5. The folly of her statement, like in many such situations, is the claim that some minor crime shouldn’t end in a person’s death. That is the classic straw man. The police didn’t shoot him because he was sleeping in a drive-thru. That is silly. Sure, we can all agree that sleeping isn’t justification to be killed but that isn’t why he was shot. He was shot for attacking an officer and taking a weapon. Whether we agree on the use of force, he wasn’t shot for sleeping. That is an outright lie for political gain. We have seen the same kind of statements like for a person who the police were trying to arrest for misdemeanor marijuana. I was reading a case like that a few years ago. The guy reached for a gun and was shot. The article was titled, man shot for marijuana. No, he was shot reaching for a gun. It doesn’t matter why the police started talking to you, it is your actions that determine the use of force, not the reason for the interaction.

  6. I think you’ll see more of this, not less. When the lefties made sure that you can no longer restrain a person around their neck, they guaranteed that more of these fights will have deadly endings. Either one of those cops could have taken the guy’s back and locked him down.... except now they can’t. That tool was taken. I think the police should do a little protest of their own. Just a public announcement that “due to our systemic racism and uncontrollable oppression, each and every one of us has decided to suspend ourselves for one week without pay, effective now. May the odds be ever in your favor.” And cue the Purge siren.

    Defund, or abolish?

Let’s defund welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, and free healthcare. If we can take care of ourselves without police, then we should take care of ourselves in every other aspect. Personally, I am locked and loaded and need none of those government handout programs to survive.

  10. Since we all are waiting on football like everyone else I thought maybe we could mention the best rivalries in this area or other areas you have attended... For me it's a hit or miss due to the fact Shepherd is our chief rivals especially since they have won a lot against us during the past decade (prior before the 2004 season they only won 10 I think against us) and we do have Cleveland but now they are 5A D1 now but outside our area the best rivalry I've witnessed was Longview and Marshall when I stayed in Longview for 6 years but what are you guys opinion is?

  12. I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong PG is SOLID defensively, but I think they have some questions on offense. They lost some key offensive weapons.

  13. I don’t think a Taser is deadly force but did the mayor use that as a reason for terminating officers and then in a different situation a couple of weeks later, use the opposite reasoning? Either you think it is or it isn’t but it shouldn’t be deadly force at 2pm but not at 7pm.

  14. They looked dangerous in predistrict. They couldn't hurt a fly once district started. They were senior heavy, with a very weak JV team. We'll have to see what in store for them with the drop down to 5A.

  16. Cool. I have a vested interest in Silsbee because I promised the QB Foster I’d make Some games. I guess I can skip out on that game. Son is in United band and I’m a volunteer for the band booster. It’s possible for me to kiss a game, so I’ll see. Been wanting to go to a MCM for years..

  17. Way back in the day, one of the funnest rivalries in my opinion was Charleton-Pollard vs. Hebert. It was always a good game held at Lamar because the High School stadium wasn't big enough and it featured easily the best half time show in Southeast Texas My dad refereed the game a few time and my family would go with him to watch. Always exciting. I miss those days.

    Drew Brees’ Apology

I was really looking forward to watching the NFL this season. A respite from politics, stress, strife and the daily grind is what we need. All of the coaches and players are already talking about the protests they have planned for the season. It looks like I might get to watch one game - and see how much it is inundated with something other than sports. I can’t protest on my job and “stick it to the man”, but I don’t make millions to play sports. I used to really enjoy ESPN and Sportscenter before MSM talking points took the place of sports. We shall see, and perhaps I’m in the minority with my stance.

    Defund, or abolish?

No, they would not. It doesn’t work like that. They have age requirements, different standards, different academies, different laws and so on. You can’t just transfer to another agency. I saw a guy on a Facebook forum (when they thought that Minneapolis was about to lay off all officers) say that there was no big deal because that state and county would just take their place. Okay, Minneapolis loses 800 officers. So the state has 800 troopers sitting around waiting for something to do? Nope.... I looked up MN state police and they have only 591 troopers in the entire state. Do they could completely strip the entire state and cover just over half of ONE city? The county had very few actual street cops but mostlt runs the county jail (which is pretty much the standard). ...,,and again, that is one city. The federal government has completely different laws. They enforce the US Code and state/county/local police enforce their state Penal Code... which are all different. It would be like if all doctors quit, couldn’t veterinary assistants take their place? They are both in medical fields. Then.... let’s assume that you could simply have the state police hire all local officers immediately and forget all of the stuff I just mentioned. You would have the exact same officers patrolling the exact same streets but now the city council who is mad at then would have no control at all over them. All that would do is to stop their own authority and have another government have complete control over the same area that you used to control. To say this isn’t well thought out (by people calling for it) might be the understatement of all time.

Smashmouth...........Really its not about living life in fear. Its being conscious of our surroundings and making good sound decisions. I totally agree we must move on and athletics has and will be a big part of my life til i leave this earth. What is great about this conversation and everyone's opinion is its keeping me, you and everyone else on the board AWARE. I go to the gym each and every day since its been open, and I see people making efforts at returning to some sort of normal life . I see people taking the time to wipe equipment before and after and social distancing is definitely in place. God lets just pray this virus dies down and we have no tragedies to speak of in a few months. Dont live in fear but be aware! Everyone take care!

I want football as much as anyone on the planet! We must move on in life and pray for the best with our young kiddos and supporting community. This virus is going to continue to spread. SO CALLED EXPERTS say another 100K Americans will die from the virus. COVID does not discriminate. It can sicken the healthiest athlete as well as the many people with underlying issues. I saw where there are college athletes that have the virus now. This is scary! I am at a complete loss here. I officiate HS football and wonder how we will protect ourselves as well. I am not a young man by any means. Here is the article i read this morning about college athletes and the virus. Man it takes one and the chances of another catching it highly likely with all of the contact! What in the world do we do ? [Hidden Content]

THIS! This is what I told my college kids they want to go hang with their friends and go to the beach and such. But you go to work. I HAVE to go to work. You don’t have to go party and hang out with other irresponsible college kids...

  28. I’d have to go with LCM vs BC. It started in the early 1980’s. It’s usually heated a lot of personal fouls. Both student section chanting back and forth and someone usually damages some school property during the week. LCM leads the series to bad we don’t get to play them this upcoming season.

Guys, this is a real sensitive matter. People have their own opinions. People will do what’s best for them and their families. But let’s not belittle or be insensitive to someone that don’t show your thoughts. Also for whatever it’s worth, I think there are bigger things at play here besides football. Put the safeguards in place. If it’s PROVEN to keep ALL the kids healthy, then press forward. If not, don’t start football yet. And ummmmm.... its call the COVID-19 or Coronavirus, not China Virus (IMO, very insensitive and disrespectful to Chinese Americans and Chinese people in general)

    SETX Sleeping Giants?

If Vidor comes up with a defense that can defend the pass consistently, they have a chance to go deep in 4a this year. I think it is extremely difficult for Vidor to prep a pass defense because they can't simulate a strong pass offense in practice. So it's an uphill battle. The players can do it if someone will teach them.
