Lamar made a field goal to tie it at 23-23. During the field goal attempt they called a leverage penalty on East Texas so Lamar took the points off the board. They had a first and goal at the 4 but I think only about 11 or 12 seconds remained. On first down they had an incomplete pass so it was 2nd and goal with 7 seconds left. So it was score on the next play or do the field goal attempt again. So they scored with 3 seconds left to take the 27-23 lead. Then on the kickoff they do all the lateral plays and Lamar picked up one of them and ran it in for the final 33-23 score. I listened to KLVI and also watched the stats scoreboard. They had different scores for a while to where even the Lamar announcers didn't know if they counted the last touchdown. Then they confirmed it was a score.

The enrollment at the high school is 1700 according to the athletic director!!

Has several D1 offers. Made 1st All District at 2 positions his sophomore year (unanimous at both and beat out Armstrong last year). Also was Offensive MVP of the district in basketball as a sophomore year. 310 lbs and dunking basketballs. Maybe someone else is a better athlete but he is on the short list. I can tell you flat out that there is no DL/OL type in the district on his level.

After watching those highlights: did Woodville forget how to tackle properly???

Silsbee in the trenches remind you of bigger classification OL. They will win a ton of games with their two fronts.

A team who hasn't beat anyone with a winning record still has alot to prove. I dont think Shepherd beats WOS, Silsbee or HF. There only other win will be vs Jasper.

I sure hope they don't drop. Need them to stay in order to have at least a 6 team DII district since BC, HJ and Liberty (who are DII enrollment) chose to opt up. I expect them to do the same in this realignment. (even though BC may have DI enrollment this time around) A 5 team district is not good. Have to schedule 6 non-district games which is virtually impossible. Be better off playing each district foe twice, eight games, then only having 2 non district games but that won't happen. If HJ and Liberty would just stay DII, then no issues.

Johnson is an athlete I would not say he is the best QB in the district. Walker is most likely one of the best Dline man in the district

The kid is good but, kelvy Jefferson and the QB from silsbee are to best players in this district easily

They built to out score teams. The game was close before his injury.

WOS had two hall of fame coaches that both believed in the 50 defense or to say the least a defense minded team. The new coach got the job and did away with that tradition, ask him why. All I know is for 35 plus years of following the Stangs, the good days are over for now and doubt they will be back with this coachin staff. To many it is the coach, not so much the talent.

Word is Daytons rb Foster went out the 2nd quarter against LC. and will be back for Huntsville.

RB or no RB Daytons problem is clearly it’s D. giving up 50+ in back to back games versus teams that struggle to score!

The boys and girls stats championship basketball teams received their State Rings at half time. Pretty cool - delivered by helicopter.

Shepherd has improved this year, but their schedule has been 5 3A schools without a winning record amongst them and 0-6 Tarkington. It’s kinda hard to know how much better they are until they play a good 4A squad, so we’ll find out this week. I’m gonna say WOS 48, Shepherd 21.
