I would like to say Thank you for all the support for the Port Neches-Groves Indians. You have been amazing on here. Several Indian fans have commented to me at the number of area schools supporting this seasons run. Last week I spent most of the time standing up between the two decks.I saw so many people representing their respective SETX schools. This past Friday night I saw someone from every school in SETX. A group of what look to be LCM football players, many from PAM, folks from Beaumont, WOS, Silsbee. Vidor, BC, Orangefield, many from Dayton, a guy from Crosby, several from Brenham, and a large contingent of Nederland Bulldogs there. I am in know way saying thats all these are the people I personnaly saw. First please if you make the game we welcome you, we thank you, and though I cant speak for everyone. I have been to many other teams games in my life. I remember driving to Houston to watch Central play in the Dome. Many years ago. I say all of this to say Thanks for your support not only on the game but the support from staff and members of the SETXSPORTS.COM site. You have been most gracious and covered us well. Thanks for the love and suppot.

Just an observation on the last 2 semi games. Last year when the clock struck 0, the players went wild celebrating and rushed the field. All that work and they achieved their goal to get to state. This year when Shea took the knee in victory formation, there were hugs and handshakes. A lot more subdued and businesslike celebration. They expected to win and expected to be back at state. They have unfinished business to take care of. It may take a near perfect game to win, but I don’t doubt they can pull it off.

This will be the biggest test for the Indians. We must play fundamental/Disciplined ball for 4 quarters.

SETX Football is a family! Like any family we have our individual disputes. However, rivals or not, we support any team going to the playoffs to do their best. Thank everyone for your support in the Indians run to state. God bless everyone through this Christmas season, in their travels & that it may be a blessed time for all this year! God made us all.

I could not even count the number of Nederland people there. Way to many to count. They were all around where my family sat.

I also forgot that I spoke with two men who drove over from east texas one from Hemphill and the other Shelbyville. They drove over together.

I saw a lady in a Nederland shirt at NRG. I passed so fast and the crowd was big I didn’t stop, but I wanted to stop and thank her for wearing her shirt, and for coming. I thought that was really cool.

Zero Clue? Here is one simple clue, He is a OF alum and coached there already years ago under Flanigan (his mentor) Money isn't that much less than what he is at now at LCM. The OF job is still over 100k a year. Peevey is a simple man (NOT an insult by any means), he isn't greedy and looking for a huge payday. He would rather spread the money around to get good quality assistants and to have money for facility upgrades. Money isn't everything when you have a chance to "go home" Peevey to OF. Wheels in motion already If Peevey doesn't go, Chris Pachuca, Brandon Prouse, and Jeff Breaux are the front runners

Was there 12 seasons. Not sure how many district championships were won. They were 4A for most of those 12 years.

Made the mistake of going and reading the smoaky thread. Somehow I now find myself rooting hard for Bellville to curb stomp them, whereas before I was just going to be an interested observer.

I remember y'all only lost 3 games one year ...all 3 to Colmesneil......we always respected Chester because y'all had great teams those years too....

Neither are going to win state championships but I bet he improves the program. And as I’ve stated many times, you won’t find a better AD. I saw much made on some of the sporting and gun forms where the (rightfully imo) complained about Trump pushing for the bump stock ban as part of the definition of a machinegun. The Fifth Circuit I believe has thrown out that ban saying that the ATF did not apply with the actual law on the definition of a machinegun. I agree but that’s not the point. Many people complained that Trump backed up the ban, expanding the definition of a machinegun, so maybe…. they look to the other party??? Okay, you disagree with Trump on that issue. But let’s look at the score for like minded conservatives. Border wall and heavy enforcement of the current laws: Trump - Yes Biden - No Cutting taxes by signing tax cut legislation: Trump - Yes Biden - No Opening up oil exploration: Trump - Yes Biden - No Backing Second Amendment and written definition of machinegun: Trump - No Biden - No So where do like thinking people turn because we don’t agree with Trump on one issue however, the other guy would do the same on the same issue? Trump vs. Biden on strong conservative beliefs: Trump: Yes-Yes-Yes-No Biden; No-No-No-No Any questions on the lesser of evils? Do you cut off your nose to spite your face? Let’s replace Trump’s name with Haley. Does it really change your beliefs, assuming you agree with the above? Whether a person likes Trump, Haley, DeSantis, etc., is Biden ever the answer if your conservative leaning candidate didn’t get the nomination?

The officials in this game were terrible for both sides. Player threw N elbow it was called but was explained that it wasn’t a player foul it was just a violation. I haven’t played ball in quite some time or checked a rule book but that’s a new one on me.

In defense of your coaching credentials months ago, you posted a video of an underclassmen kid mentioning you as one of his coaches, and a video of you helping warmups as a north shore assistant coach. Why would I make that up? You should be proud of your career as the “ball slap together guy.” You’re the reason North Shore was so good. Except for the fact that coaching doesn’t matter, so I guess you had nothing to do with it.

I’m saying the best coaches bring in and generate more talent, and get more talent out of their players. I’m not saying they just happen to have more talent. They create talent. And, seriously, what is your implication here? You brag about being a super good coach because a freshman cited your name on a radio broadcast and because you were the official “ball slapper together guy” in North Shore’s warmups. Are you simultaneously bragging about being a coach while saying coaching isn’t even all that important?

That’s not the only adjustment. It’s a little shocking that you’re a coach and you only noticed one adjustment. Seriously. They also moved a guy over in the interior to take away the run, thus forcing us to throw. And, PNG could have responded to their passing game sooner by putting Shea Adams in the secondary to take away their height advantage (we eventually did, but it was too late by then). And, png could have modified its offensive play calling to drag out drives longer, move the chains and keep themselves out of trouble. By no means did SOC’s talent (which was far superior to PNGs) put that game out of reach. PNG was outcoached and outplayed in the second half. I’m not disagreeing that talent matters. I’m disagreeing with drawing a hard line. Coaches develop talent, bring in talent, use talent, and train talent. It’s no mystery that the best coaches seem to also have a lot of talent. A good coach gets more talent out of average players, and helps players discover abilities they didn’t even know they have. I’d rather face a super talented team with a terrible coach than a more “normal” team with a top tier coach. Napoleon is credited with saying something along the lines of “I’d fear a thousand sheep lead by a lion more than a thousand lions led by a sheep.”

Your opinion: When the new coach was hired at WOS, the talent just happened to fall off at the same time? Or could there be another reason for their team’s downfall from what they’ve been used to?

I don’t understand the point. Nobody here makes the BU schedule. Beating an irrelevant horse to make what point? BU has been to 3 state championships in a row. I think the man knows what he is doing. BU plays a soft pre-district schedule this year….. and? 3 state title games in a row, I’m sure Coach Green doesn’t care at all what the message board and middle school coaches think about his scheduling.

Pick 6 and safeties the difference in the game

An understated benefit of deep runs, and one of the reasons deep runs tend to come in bunches. After this season, PnG will have a full 12 more weeks extra of practices and game experience , over the past two years, than most teams in the state. South Oak Cliff will have 18 extra (over the last 3 seasons) - That’s nearly 2 full regular seasons extra! That experience can really build if underclassmen are taking advantage.

I'm interested to see if he applies. But was actually making the point of... WHO would hire a line coach for AD? I don't think West Brook, West Hardin, or West Sabine would be that blind.

OF has a better community but BC has more money. If you are looking to retire in the next few years a pay jump at the end would help your benefits.

A rumor I have heard all year long as well. After BC previous coach got shipped out I think everyone thought this would happen with BC not hiring a HC. I couldn't see Peevey leaving LCM just yet.. I'd love for Smalley to stay, but they will show him the $ in BC.
