Week 11 is here and the last chance for some teams to clinch a playoff berth. Several teams have clinched playoff berths and even seeding. But some are still battling for a playoff spot and some for higher seed. Here's a look at our coverage area districts: (NOTE: please let me know of district tie breaking policies if I have them wrong) 21-6A is completely set with seeds as well. North Shore is district champs and #1 seed in Div. I Atascocita will be #2 in Div. I Summer Creek will be #1 in Div. II CE King will be #2 in Div. II 8-5A DI Barbers Hill, La Porte, PA Memorial and Porter have all clinched playoff spots. BH (6-1), LP (7-1) and PAM (6-1) all have 1 loss in district. Using the district positive point tie breaking system (max point is 14), BH sits at +7, LP at -4 and PAM at -3. BH plays Porter while PAM will play Kingwood Park. LP is off this week. Porter can get #3 seed with a win over BH and a win by PAM. If both BH and PAM win, then the seeding should go as follows: (note: this district does use point system throughout tie breaker) 1. BH 2. PAM 3. LP 4. Porter A win by BH, loss by PAM: 1. LP 2. BH 3. PAM 4. Porter A loss by BH, win by PAM 1. PAM 2. LP 3. Porter 4. BH Also, if Porter beats BH and PAM loses, this will cause another 3 way tie. It will go to positive points between those three teams. Right now BH is +14, PAM is 0 and Porter is -14. Porter will need to beat Barbers Hill by 14 or more points and have PA Memorial lose to create tie. 9-5A DII PN-G, Texas City, FB Marshall and Nederland have all clinched playoff spots. PN-G has clinched #1 seed. Texas City can clinch #2 seed with a win over Nederland. A Nederland win coupled with a FB Marshall loss will give Nederland the #2 seed. Using positive point system, Marshall is a -6 while TC is a +8 and Nederland a -2. (TC and Ned will play this week so their totals will change with a Ned win) (note: this district uses point system throughout) A TC win, this will be the seeding: 1. PN-G 2. TC 3. FB Marshall 4. Nederland A Nederland win by 3 points or less: 1. PN-G 2. TC 3. Nederland 4. FB Marshall A Nederland win by 4 to 14 points: 1. PN-G 2. Nederland 3. Texas City 4. FB Marshall A Nederland win by 15 points or more: 1. PN-G 2. Nederland 3. FB Marshall 4. Texas City

Let’s stick to the upcoming big game between Jasper and Silsbee. These two teams are who I thought would be fighting for the top spot. Jasper has rebounded from a rough start to the season, Silsbee has kept on track. Another good matchup before the playoffs begin.

Its just hurting you to see Nederland make the playoffs and seeing that nearly all their players are coming back next year and Nederland will be better. Get on board and support the team.

I very much dislike these kinds of games on Week-11 when you've already clinched a playoff spot, you already know what seed you're going to be, with the other team not having anything but pride to play for. Hopefully a bunch of the youngsters that don't normally play gets to play a whole half at least and it's an injury-free game.

If it happens, may actually be a better matchup for the district from the 2/3 seed perspective & run D’s. After watching a little of Forney, LP vs. Forney tilt would be like 2 Shermans playing Rock Em Sock Em Robots. LOL

One thing about Brenham, they are always in the playoffs. This is not your typical 4 seed. I wouldn’t relax at the site of their likely 5-5 record after they play Lake Creek this weekend. They did beat a good 6A playoff team Oak Ridge. They lost to a ranked Belton squad and District 10 is very solid this year. They can beat you if you aren’t ready to play. Brenham is going to score some points. Good QB and receivers. They can score quickly. They have a phenomenal freshman RB. He went out with an ankle injury on the first drive against Huntsville. Not sure of his status going forward.

Super pumped for this game. I don’t know if we’ve ever hosted Brenham, but they have an awesome program with a great history, and their fans are some of the more pleasant I’ve ever interacted with. Also, I’m a little worried: I have an itch at the back of my brain saying our district hasn’t been as competitive as it was last year. The other district seems more consistently solid, top to bottom. I feel good about our chances, but this isn’t going to be some easy walk to the 2nd round.

I'll wait til Friday night/Saturday morning on 8-5A D1 to be 100% sure. 🤷🏾‍♂️

It's Senior night, so parents or representatives will be on the field with the players pre-game. Otherwise, this game will be about taking care of business and winning district undefeated in district. With this coaching staff, the score does not matter, and who is playing does not matter, whether it be back-up or 2nd back-up or whatever, and whoever they are playing against doesn't matter, the same intensity is expected, and the coaches have the same intensity. Last Friday the kid that got the USC call against him in the 4th qtr, that gave the Bulldogs a first down instead of 4th and long, regardless of PNG's big lead, got some first hand experience of that intensity from 2 or maybe 3 coaches on the sideline right in front of where we were seated. The stands got sort of quiet and the coach could be heard, and some of the ladies (moms, probably) were getting upset. One lady yelled down at the coach (twice), "we can hear you, coach!". I said, "that kid is learning a lesson, and 5 minutes from now he'll be back on the field, and the same coach will pat him on the back". But the whole team will do 15 ups and downs next week, one for each yard of the penalty.

All i ask is that the Silsbee coaches stress to the football team that being ranked #2 in the state already puts a target on your back because all the opponents you play will be bringing their best to knock you down a notch.....I know they are young men with emotions but also need to understand, just be cool when provoked.....Silsbee doesn't need to have anyone thrown out of the game.....you are on a mission to win a state championship....that is your only objective and you need everybody to contribute.....

And the BISD's pay is on par with the rest of the state when you don't have the AD attached to the Head coach job. As far as the state championships in 3 years, that can be attributed to a group of generational players coming together at the same time. Having two future NBA players and three additional players that will more than likely play professional over seas on one team will lead to state championships. If no one wants to move to Beaumont, who is all the new housing and apartments being built for?

Yes. There was confusion on the cap amount (18 or 14) and if the point system was used throughout the tie breaker or only used to break three way tie and then head to head. Point max is 14 and point system is used throughout.

Def true, Houston area coaches that coach two sports average around 75-80k a year. Coordinators are around 90-100k, that link you posted holds no weight and is very inaccurate. When i was at NS the starting salary was 60k(probably higher now) coaches get paid a stipend plus a certain amount of days for each sport they coach. I never made less than 80k while in education. I have close friends that left BISD to coach in Houston and it was an extreme pay increase, not to mention most programs pay coaches for working Speed and Strength in the summer. I agree with a lot of what BMT Truth is saying, firing the AD does nothing. The entire system in BMT is flawed from admin on down that's just the harsh reality & anyone who coaches there that knows any better will tell you this.

Edit to this for the breaking news: The tiebreak max points is 14 instead of 18. So, LP would be 3rd seed and travel to Forney (I’m assuming) if BH & PAM both win. The rest stays the same.

My guess is that the 5a districts would be split with PNG, Nederland, Dayton, Montgomery, Lake Creek, West Fork, Splendora, Huntsville and the bidistrict would be FBM, Willowridge, Texas City, Santa Fe, Galena Park,Lamar Consolidated, Rosenberg Terry, Iowa Colony

100% Wish we could have been a little more aggressive offensively but I get it, personnel always creates limitations. It’s easy to be a coach from the stands… haha!!! Coaches and the kids gave it their all and that’s all a community can ask for! The fact that the three most productive offensive players from last year didn’t return or contribute is a huge obstacle to overcome in a small school.

Hard to know what to discuss. Can’t see Galena Park winning, but anything can happen so we need to dial in and leave no doubt and have an injury free game across the board. I hope the receivers get a lot of reps. Way too many dropped passes, all season. This needs to be a smooth tune up for playoffs that ends with us celebrating an outright district championship and getting ready to host (probably) Brenham.

Lol that's one coach - the Head Coach. And the pay definitely isn't on par with the rest of state bro. Not when you're trying to get people to relocate to BMT. Assistant Coaches in the Houston area, which is a ton of schools, make on average in the 80s. Nobody is taking a 20k pay cut or more to come to BMT. You're delusional if you think so.

IMO the refs share some blame when the games are allowed to get out of control. Clearly, some refs have their favorite teams or coaches, they overlook plays that are so blatant right in front of their eyes. WOS does do things that make no sense, let’s face it they are not going to take smack from any team and not verbally retaliate (This causes them to get flagged). I don’t re-call them ever being involved in a play where someone from the opposite team had to be life flighted out. We all know what happened to our beloved QB #12. UIL should review plays where a team has a history of aggression against their opponent’s week after week and the start to forfeit their games. Maybe then this type of behavior will stop!!

Is this post for likes or are you just trying to be politically correct? LMAO... Its not a secret to what the issues are when it comes to Beaumont and its high school football programs. Fire the Athletic Director and the loser head football coaches that he hired. The new AD needs to allow the new coaches to bring in their entire staff and not force them to keep the assistant coaches that have been losing for years on those staffs. Oh and none of the current assistant coaches should be considered for the jobs.

I think Buna will get the 4th seed since they beat Anahuac head to head. Looks like winner of EC vs Orangefield will play the loser of Wville vs WW and vice versa for the first round of the playoffs

Correct. It was a horrible freak accident that was caused when the player tried to jump over the bench. There was nothing malicious or intentional. Prayers for this kid!!!

Yes they were clapping because they had no idea a kid was seriously injured...the silsbee fans didn't know, and the refs obviously didn't either. Silsbee kids came onto the field to line up and play, meanwhile the Bridge City fans were screaming obscenities at them. Once Silsbee understood what was happening, they went to their sideline and prayed for the player. The hit was on the out of bounds line, 5 yards would have been in the Bridge City stands, there is a video of it so lying is pointless. Silsbee is praying that this kid fully recovers.

Your gonna find out what year it is soon enough. OF is good enough to beat KV is all that matters now.
