Meh. The announcers, I think both Trinity Grads and I know one of them coached under the elder Lineweaver, said they are running a new defense and I saw that. Running a lot of odd man fronts which they were a even front defense for most of the time I have been watching them. Prosper's QB made some bad throws and Trinity picked him. I wasn't impressed with the Eagles passing game. Their run game was a different story based on how Trinity was lined up And again, with a minute 46 left in the game, there were some poor play calling and poor clock management on Trinity's part. Also, they are going to have to pick one QB sooner or later. Both are Sophomores I've been watching ET since the '09 season but I also know your gangster 14.2 lol

Hardin-Jefferson and LCM will resume their game 5:30 pm tomorrow at Port Arthur Memorial Stadium. Battlin’ Bears are leading the Hawks 7-0 late in the 1st quarter.

I remember a few years back a game being played on Silsbee’s field in a mud pit. Field never recovered for the remainder of that year and beyond. Sometimes it’s about saving that natural field for the rest of the season.

Barbers Hill goes 3-0 on the day in the 68 team tournament in Leander Tx. W 2-1 over 6a Hebron W 2-0 over 6a Allen W 2-0 over 6a SA O’Connor BH is 20-2 on the season.

Trespassing requires that a person has been given “notice “ not to trespass. But… Texas law defines what qualifies as a notice. Obviously if someone tells you to leave, that is notice. It is also notice if someone putd up a sign that says, get off my lawn!! However, so is purple paint on trees marking a property line, fencing that is obviously intended to exclude intruders, fencing that obviously is intended to hold cattle or merely crops ready for harvest with no fencing or sign, etc. Just as an example, lets say you are carrying a rifle which is legal but you cut across a watermelon patch with some melons ready to be picked. That is up to a year in jail for trespassing with a deadly weapon because you were given notice But, just being on someone’s property without permission is not trespassing unless the person has been given a warning like the ones listed.

From an outsider watching both teams play for the first time (even though it was only for less than a quarter), LCM is head and shoulders ahead of HJ. HJ had two good defensive stands with LCM in the redzone, but I believe LCM did that to themselves. I can honesty see LCM running away with it about 35-0. LCM is a quality team, but not a complete team in my opinion. HJ, on the otherhand, is not very good. They lack athletes and size for the 4A level.

My younger cousin played quarterback at Arlington Bowie from ‘06-‘08. I was going to college in East Texas so I would go watch as many of his games as I could his sophomore year. They lost in the first round his sophomore year so during the second round we all went to the Carroll vs Trinity game at Texas stadium. It was the greatest spectacle I’ve ever experienced in high school football. The next year Arlington Bowie actually plays Trinity in the regional final in the same location at Texas Stadium in yet another thriller and ends up losing on a late fumble. Trinity goes to state that year and while we’re watching the title game my girlfriend at the time goes “Yay, Coach Lineweaver is going to win another state championship!”. She then proceeds to tell me he was the coach when they won state at Commerce so I’ve always kind of checked on them since then. Her best friend, my kids’ “aunt” also lives in Bedford and has kids that will attend ET. They’re one of the more interesting teams around the state with the Polynesian aspect.

2 choices…go hate on someone else or go hold your breath under water, but I feel I need to educate you since you seem to be uneducated about sports and getting your game legs. During practices players get stuck in one speed. Varsity knows their going up against jv and it’s easy to get stuck in one speed cause your somewhat beating up on them and their not allowed to “hit” you hard….staying with me?? Now when it’s comes to scrimmaging someone in a different color Jersey…you don’t quite have your game legs under you. You’re not use to someone wanting to take your head off, tackling full speed, etc. So yes it takes a scrimmage or 2 or maybe a real game or 2 to get your game legs unders you.

Somebody should let @Gators23 borrow the equipment and have her call the game, it would be the most interesting broadcast in the state tonight.

I think there's a very good chance Longview loses to Boyd tonight. DCTF seems right giving Longview the nod over Denton Ryan now but Longview has to prove they can get consistent QB play and that Taylor Tatum can stay healthy while carries the load at RB. Prosper was a regional final team in 6A-D2-R2 and Boyd beat them by 28 in the regular season finale last year. New Braunfels over DR was kind of a shocker but Boyd over Longview wouldn't be at all.

It was impressive. Shut down the pass game pretty well. HJ has a decent defense, it’s just the LCM O Line and Morris at RB are a deadly combo. If they get their blocks, he can read well enough to find some extra yardage. Fun to watch. LCM is going to be awesome if they can get their pass game buttoned up. We only got one quarter in, so I’m sure it’ll come together.

They’re also 1st and 2nd in talent and probably top three in coaching at the 6A level, pretty lethal combination. Only coaches to coach at least 23 of a possible 24 playoff games at the 6A level the past four years are Jon Kay, Reginald Samples and Todd Dodge. To be clear, I think Gary Joseph is the best coach at the 6A level and the state in general. I think Samples and Kay are top 3 now that Todd Dodge has retired.

CH missed a handful of home run throws. Should've, could've, would've, doesn't win you games or "should" of been a blowout. Vidor was driving deep in CH territory when somebody calling plays wanted to throw it on 4 consecutive downs. It is what it is... Vidor gave them all that they wanted and barely survived.🥴

Not unless things change ($$$) I have no plans to do anymore broadcasting. I am officially retired from that business. But I may make a cameo appearance in other broadcasts during the season. Might happen tonight at HJ/LC-M game.

I think Silsbee has alot of talent returning to a team who lost 3 or 4 close game last season. Vidor, Nederland, OF, and Sealy were winnable games we lost. Im taking from that experience and think they have what it takes to go 10-4 this year. Not sure we win district but 2nd place and maybe a 4 round playoff will be a solid season. I expect Jackson and Cartwright to have breakout seasons at WR since Miller will see triple teams half the year. We will need to find ways to get Miller in space.

Are you talking about when Trump suspended loan payments temporarily due to covid? I don’t recall where Trump just did away with money owed.

That's the difficult part about playing teams like CE King, North Shore, Duncanville, Desoto, etc. They already have a bunch of talent to begin with, throw in the fact that they're also open enrollment and you basically end up with select teams playing UIL football. If the UIL wanted to add an additional level of "fairness" outside of the enrollment caps they could do something like the NCAA and allow the one-time transfer free of penalty. Crosby has had kids denied even when they had legit Crosby addresses. We've had kids that had to sit out a season like one of our starting LBs this year, and still currently have kids with eligibility issues. It kind of puts you at a disadvantage for doing things the right way. Meanwhile, talent-rich schools get even more rich.

You might look at the top of this thread and see who started this. Beside from all the BS Anahuac is a quality program and it will be a good game. You have one of the best coaches in tx. -he was our OC when we won state and we would not have won state without him.
