I think the guy they have at the helm is a winner, with the talent pool where it was this year to get to the 3rd round was very successful.

I finally watched the Texan Live broadcast last night. We could've won that game but not without our "horse" in the backfield. We were moving the ball before he got hurt. Again, everything has to go your way to win those games. We were looking good with the turnovers but the injury to our stud was a killer. On another note, someone the other day said we weren't really moving the ball when Gales was playing... well, we had a 74 yd TD drive and when Gales got hurt mid way in the 1st qtr he had 34 yards rushing. He was only in the game for 1 turnover (he broke his arm on the first play after the second turnover). You never know, had he been able to finish the game we might have been up 21-0 after those 3 turnovers and it's a different ball game.

nah, this award was hands down peevey's with or without the playoffs. The bears went 1-7 last year. they were 8-2 at the time this award was decided this year. Results from the playoffs only make it more obvious.

Congratulations to all these young men. The ability/drive/commitment you used/have that made you a success in TX HS Football should be the same assets you use to be a success in life. Take’em and use’em.

Just from his interview, he demonstrates a team concept and lack of ego that is needed by all head coaches. Crosby is blessed to have him. I, as a coach, love his success because he examplifies a successful coach who was hired with NO head coaching experience. Great job.

Gotcha, we agree then. I have no problem with and think it's a good idea to have to be tested at a certain age to prove that you're not a danger to yourself or others. The 80 year olds don't worry me, the 16 years olds do, lol.

I think Rio even talked to BF before taking the Crosby job to get his thoughts on it? One place he would probably struggle at PNG is to deal with y’all’s administration though. It's a grey area... we've all pretty much decided (well, except for the far lefties that want to allow children to vote) that 18 y/o is a minimum voting age. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only elected position for which there is a minimum age requirement is the Presidency. Other that that particular office (and I concede that it's an important one), there really aren't any minimum age requirements to hold political office. And the max age one is hard... I know people who have totally lost their marbles due to Alzheimer's at 56 years old... and some 73 year olds that are capable of running large firms. It's the same with drivers licensing. At some point we all lose the ability, but the number of days since our individual birth is pretty much irrelevant to that lost ability. I absolutely think old people should have to start taking driving tests to maintain their license... but ask me how I feel about that in 15 years and you'll probably get a different response. That's what most of these of boys are having problems with... it's a completely different scenario when it's your time to face losing your privileges.

I think the coach takes out 5 starters so the team can apply pressure throughout the game. Back in the halcyon days a few years ago when the Tigers went to state several times straight Sigler used that strategy a lot. He would have the luxury of having 3 sets of 5 players. He would bring five in and out all the time. The games would be kinda close in the first half. Next you know the opposing teams would be tired and the result would be a 40 piece blowout. IMO that's the method to what coach is doing.

Playoffs not a factor in this one. Think it was voted on by the coaches at the end of the regular season. He could get coach of the year for the entire state for the turnaround in bear country. I think he won it before at WB after their loss in the championship game.

Marlin flubbed this away by poor management. Being an experienced playoff team AND coaching staff is so important. Hawley happily controlled the clock and had the ball 70 percent of the time even without their best running back who was hurt last week. When Marlin had the ball, their indoctrination to a 1 back pass happy scheme left them with no positive yards and maybe 14 plays in the first half. When they finally figured out in the second half that running in a straight line is the quickest way to the end zone , they dominated. BUT their most highly recruited player, #4 outside lber and versatile receiver Guillette a juinor who has been offered by Ohio St, A M, and Texas only touches the ball ONCE ( the ENTIRE game), you have to say as a fan “ What are y’all doing?”. Sorry for the rant, just my hometown and Ive coached enough to know how some teams coaches can take away a teams potential, but it’s always low hanging fruit to blame it on those players— in a nice way if course. One day I will write how we destroyed 14.2’s senior year. That was easily the best defense I’ve been around— oh well Go Crosby-North Shore- Katy👍🏻🐻✝️ Would have been tough to beat Shiner, but nice to get there!

Hawley was good back when I lived in the Abilene area, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they beat Shiner. But i'm picking Shiner next week though.

They need to get scary if they want to have a chance at state, assuming they can make it. Lets see how it goes from here on out. I'm still not a fan of us taking out all 5 starters at once early in some games. Harris and Miller should be on the floor at all times outside of foul trouble and a little rest. The team should go through them outside of blowouts.

Funny how people who can put down and entire generation of people who have held this country together seem to come from a generation with identity problems. Need I list their inabilities to identify?

Don't know about any of the teams ( well I guess WOS) in this tourney. The hard tourney will be towards the end of December if there's no quality teams in this one. Silsbee just needs to focus on getting better from here on out and peak come playoff time. Be nice if a few more bench players stepped up a bit. Also be nice if we can get Miller and Harris to both go off on teams at the same time. More often than not if one is playing well the other will have a quiet night (see the last BU game). Not sure the status of our injured freshman or Haynes. One thing the Tigers have improved on over last year is burying lesser teams and putting them away. Last year we let a few squads hang around in games they had no business being in.

Well if D.C. district predictions are anything like their state rankings this past football season, they couldn’t be more wrong… so hopefully hoping for a better outcome than what’s predicted lol…

Oddly, Coach Riordan also won the Houston TD Club Coach of the Year award in his third season at the helm in Crosby after leading us to a 13-2 record in 2014. Here's to hoping Coach P can lead us to that 14th win this year!

Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars fan here. Stars because they are considered our “local team” plus I always want the Texas team to do well. Bruins fan because when I was a kid we went to Boston and caught a Celtics game and then a bruins game and followed them ever since… when I got stationed for 2 years in Newport, RI I rest got to enjoy and see them at super discounted price of free 50 most of the time

I was there. That CS QB is phenomenal. You rarely see someone put on the jets and dust the WOS defense with breakaway runs like he did. Give that kid a half step and he was gone.
