Hate to put Mrs. Brister on the spot. But, folks she is the one that made this MIRACLE happen for Coach Eric Peevey to come to LCM as the Athletic Director. In my opinion he is the same caliber of COACH David Williams. Thank you sooooo much Supertentant Stacey Brister. She is the best.

Some talk on other site Chapel Hill to roll over LCM. Like El Campo before them - like Kilgore was thinking about Chapel Hill, that kind of thinking will get you beat. They see Vidor beat LCM, and they beat Vidor, forgetting the fact that Vidor was 100% healthy when the Pirates beat LCM, and played CH with a crippled backfield and HC missing. Plus the Bears appear to be peaking. Methinks CH is in for a surprise.

Coach David Williams was an assistant in the 80s before making AD in the 90s. He was the one that last brought the Bears to the playoffs. Great coach, even better person.

Some of the stuff that is for sale I would either donate, find a friend that wants it or throw it in the trash. 🗑 Maybe they are just hurting that much for money and need something for Ramen noodles to eat for a week. If I was not in dire straits however, I would never bother selling something at that kind of price, period.

The way you’re asking, deadly force is usually not off of the table. I guess technically it might never be completely off the table under certain circumstances. In one scenario it seems like it would not be allowed but I guess technically even then it could. For example a man goes into a store with a gun and he’s committing an armed robbery. By Texas law anyone can use deadly force to stop that robbery in progress if it was reasonably necessary. The robber in that situation does not have the right to use self-defense and if he kills someone during that robbery, it is capital murder and death penalty eligible. In other words, he cannot pull a gun on you and when you pull a gun in self defense, he has no right to self-defense. But… What if the robber surrenders, throws down his gun and lays on the floor so you can make a citizen arrest? In anger you run up and start kicking him in the head and risk killing or seriously injuring him. Would he have a right to self-defense at that time since he has surrendered? I believe so. Texas law on self-defense says that you cannot resist arrest from a police officer even for an unlawful arrest however, you can resist arrest if the officer is using more force than is necessary and the suspect did not offer resistance. The law in Texas generally says that you cannot resist arrest no matter what, even it the arrest is unlawful (made without probable cause), unless… for example the officer says you’re under arrest and you say sure, turn around and put your hands behind your back and he walks up and starts beating you in the head with a baton. He is now using deadly force against you when you offered no resistance and you have the right to defend yourself. I have seen cases where people used force and sometimes even killed an officer and it was ruled justified. So, never say never. In the situation that you ask about, removing a trespasser, like all cases in depends. in my opinion, playing the What If game…. What if you order a man off of your lawn and be voluntarily leaves? Can you run up and start beating on him? My opinion no. He has offered no resistance and he’s leaving like you ordered. By the same reasoning, the man is voluntarily leaving and you run up behind him and try the stab him with a knife. Can he use deadly force to protect himself? I believe so. For trespassing in Chapter 9 of the Penal Code it says you’re allowed to use force to remove a trespasser. That means that your use of force is legal if necessary to remove the trespass. He is breaking the law by trespassing and has no self-defense claim to assault you. So the guy is trespassing and you grab him by the arm, pin it behind his back and start to shove him off of your property. He then pulls a gun and in my opinion he’s not justified because he is the one committing the crime of trespassing and you are using legal force to remove him. Can you then defend yourself with deadly force? I think almost assuredly, yes. At that point the scenario changes. You’re not using deadly force to remove a trespasser, you are using deadly force to protect yourself which is a different section of the chapter. The use of force against trespassing has ended and now you’re under that different section which is a threat upon your life. I guess in the purest technical sense, you could never use deadly force to stop a trespasser however the trespasser might unlawfully escalate it and you are no longer under the section of the force for trespassing but under the different section of defense of a person. Clear as mud? I could make it a lot shorter by saying that if under the law you’re legally using force in self-defense and the other person tries to kill you, you are allowed to use deadly force to protect yourself. Whether you’re using that legal force to protect your property from trespassing, yourself from assault or even another person from assault (all justified in Chapter 9), the guilty person committing the crime generally has no such right.

No, if you're using legal force to remove someone off of your property and they escalate it to a point where you can reasonably fear for your life or safety, you'd be able to use deadly force at that point. If you start off with threatening deadly force, thus committing a crime, you can't then argue self-defense if it escalates. TVC can correct me if I'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure I'm right.

LCM defense will have to show up again and play great defense, EL Campo was averaging 53 points a game and LCM held them 21. LCM defense is giving up about 19 points a game. I think we stop CH run game and force them to pass we have good chances in this game.

He was definitely a nice guy. He was just full of hot air and had no idea how to coach a football team or lead an athletic department. FYI I only played basketball and baseball at LCM, but I had several buddies on the football team and heard countless horror stories from them. Enough negativity - I am now a homeowner in the district and am floored at how quickly Peevey has turned things around here. I've never seen anything close to the amount of school spirit thats been exhibited these past few months. Its truly incredible.

Peevey is from Orange, his wife is from Orange, his family is from Orange and the everyone involved (School Super, Board, Principle, Booster Club, Fans) is behind him. He'll get what he needs from the community.

You’re talking about our o-line but we ran for 352 yards on 32 carries on TH last year, we had a tougher time running the ball on Nederland. Based on the film I’ve seen we won’t have much issue with anybody in TH’s front seven. As far as TH not having to show anything on offense, I just don’t think there’s much to show. If Stewart can’t run for 200 yards on us TH won’t move the ball much at all. Y’all’s qb struggles to make basic varsity throws and he’s not much of a threat with his legs. Just on basic comeback routes against PNG I saw him throw one and take the receiver OB, he threw one wide and threw another one into the dirt. That’s without near the pressure he’s going to see from Crosby defense.

You are 100 percent right about the Dawg D. No body knows why they played that game like they did. All I know is China Spring did what no other team did in two years. China Spring out played us on both sides of the ball. This game will determine who plays in the state championship.

Crosby has scored over 50 in 9 of the last 10 games. Texas High hasn’t scored 50 all year. I agree that Texas will have to keep the Cougars short of that mark to get the win. I think this game may still go to the wire. Maybe it’s a 44-41 game. Take Crosby since all the playoff luck has followed them over the last 11 months.

I picked CS in my pickems. I don’t have a problem with anyone who believes something, but I’ll always point out when someone was wrong when they speak in absolutes and certainties. If he’d come on here and said “I think… because…” I wouldn’t have called him out. But he basically said “this will happen, and anyone who thinks differently is dumb.”

Just some notable scores/observations on the Texas teams btw I get my rankings from Maxpreps #1 Sierra Canyon (Cali) 73 #5 Duncanville 80 F (Duncanville also beat #11 Corona Centennial) D.Kimball 59 (Also lost to #6 N.Little Rock (Ark) 72-70 on last second FT's) #11 Corona Centennial 67 F #7 D.Richardson 61 Compass Prep 38 (AZ) #5 Duncanville with Black back is definitely the top team in the state and in the conversation for the country. Him and Holland probably make up a lethal 1-2 punch, but don't be fooled Duncanville is DEEEEEEPPPPPPPP with D1 talent and potential 5 stars. To #1 Sierra Canyon defense they did have two key players out both 5 stars. But Duncanville is probably the bar in Texas #7 Dallas Richardson will definitely have something to say about that though, Wallace and Griffin definitely another Dynamic Duo. They looked very good against the #1 basketball program in the nation (according to Maxpreps) team out of AZ Compass Prep who has alot of D-1 talent. The game was never even close either, Griffin had 20 in the first half and Wallace cemented it with 18 in the 2nd half. Seems like Richardson and Duncanville are on a collision course D.Kimball Really looked tough against stout competition. I know this will do nothing but make them better for a run late. IMO and I know 247 or Maxpreps has other thoughts but Aterio Morris was probably the best an most consistent player in the gym...That young man is a dog and has elite game. I was talking to a scout and they basically agreed. They said he's raw though and his jumper isnt as consistent as others but were he lacks he makes up in other areas with quickness and shifty movement, and is the best when going downhill. Said if he can polish up a few things he can def become the #1 guard in the class. They lost a close one to #6 N.Little rock and got beat pretty soundly by #11 C.Centennial. McKinney and John Paul (Plano) are two Dallas area teams that looked really good and should have a nice run this season in their respective classifications

I wouldn't put too much stock into that particular game as I stated in a previous thread few weeks ago, I believe it's safe to say their internal issues have been resolved.

A Rivalry Game in the purest sense. Not the magnitude of Mid County Madness but a close second for Football is king in Texas. A win by Westbrook will have this site buzzing with happy haters. A win by United will have this site in Cricket mode for the most part. Should be a great turnout with fans from both schools and others who want to watch tradition rich basketball programs with winning Head Coaches. Throw out the records and rankings this should be a Chest match between coaching styles. Boutte vs Green. This will be a doubleheader. Westbrook girls 11-0 will challenge upstart 2-6 Shewolves. I would be. That’s why I said never say never. 😀 I am pretty sure that you know but I don’t go anywhere where I might come in contact with another human without being armed. About 30 years ago I was playing tennis at the YMCA in Port Arthur with another officer. We were running around quite a bit, I was lunging for balls and play pretty aggressively. At about the time we finished the other officer told me, I think it’s the first time I’ve ever seen you without a gun. I then lifted up my T-shirt and showed him the .380 that I had strapped inside my shorts. His reaction was like… WHAT!? You played all that tennis with a gun on you? Yep…

And both probably had pressure to do the opposite.
