  1. Hey bullets13...you are correct. Those are good numbers. But it’s still not a good answer. Keep in mind, I’ve been vaccinated with 2 doses of the Moderna vaccine. The only answer to the original question, “How safe is the vaccine” is “Only time will tell...”. Also, the question is flawed in the first place. There are 3 (soon to be 4) vaccines available. One may be safer than the others. By trying to say the vaccines are safe or not safe right now is disingenuous. Once again, the only real answer is “I don’t know.” or “Only God knows.” I have faith that whatever decision I have made regarding vaccination that God will protect me and deliver me.

I think Israel will take matters in their own hands if it comes down to Iran having nukes or wait for permission from an old fool to take action...they’ve done it before.

  15. I am speaking generally and specifically. Neither of you (nor do I) have a rat’s ass clue as to what you are talking about. Calling statistics facts is bogus. Who came up with those stats? Could it be people trying to push an agenda (that goes for both sides)? It’s ok to have an opinion on the subject. The real truth is NOBODY KNOWS! Make your best decision for you and your family and leave everyone else out of it.

I would have to say this may be the most back wood - none athletic competing - hold my beer "then bust his ARSE" statement I have read in a long time. Track & Field and Elite Track & Field takes more coaching than most sports including football. You show me a coach who can teach proper vertical or horizonal jumps technique and I will also show you a football coach who relies on just given the ball to the best athlete (which takes no coaching). A good track and field coach has to understand how to set up an actual training program for all athletes (runners, jumpers, throwers, distance, sprinters, hurdlers...) When you get into the major metroplex cities outside of SETX most HS only hire non football coaches as their Cross Country / Head Track Coaches, its very rare that you have football coaches as the Head Track/ Cross Country coach.

Probably so. People are having the same conversations about Rhoades and Westerberg after leaving Cameron Yoe and Allen.

    White Privilege ?

I agree with much of this, but those things in the meme do not exist, and if they did, the wailing & gnashing of teeth would be heard around the world. You make points that are considered racism now. It’s okay if you say blacks are superior in athletics, but you’re racist if you say whites are smarter than blacks, although most whites easily admit that asians are smarter than whites. But to add to your post, each race brings something to the table to augment humanity. The fact that the US is the greatest country on earth, and to my knowledge, with the most racially mixed population, is an indication of that. Jmo

So you went with Buchanan and Surratt (check the spelling btw)? That's interesting you'd bring those guys up in conversation. Let me bring some other "big names" up and you tell me if they've won outside of the places that weren't already winning. I'll even give you the schools they've been recently at. Tom Westerburg (Barbers Hill via Allen) Todd Dodge (SLC, College, Marble Falls, Westlake) Rusty Nail (Mart [which is still winning state championships], Madisonville) Don Willis (Won several state championships in Oklahoma, Garland Lake View Centennial) Mike Spradlin (Temple, AD Magnolia, Rockwall Heath) I'll even give you this one. Michael Wall won state championships at Lake Travis and Temple as the offensive coordinator and he's the head coach at Willis right now. He was even on staff at Lake Travis when they won the 1st state championship and he'll tell you (as well as the other guys on that staff) that it was the senior class that year that changed the dynamic of the culture there. Look his record up at Willis and please tell me it's solely on coaching. They got rid of a guy that somewhat kept Willis competitive to hire Wall too. By your logic, or at least the things you're posting, winning is on coaching. Why do you think the NFL and other professional sports leagues have "tanking" years? They reinvest in their talent levels. If it didn't come down to Jimmys and Joes why in the world do NFL executives make the comments they do about infusing their rosters with talent? Sounds to me like someone needs to get into administration at Summer Creek so that they can be involved with the hiring and firing process.

  24. Yes it is capitalism and I agree with that concept. But people in general have put sports/entertainment before everything and look at athletes/celebrities as semi gods. before God, before wife, husband, kids, before true family time.....like teaching life skills, playing cards or board games, teaching a kid to use a measuring tape, cut a board, plant a garden/trees, hunt and fish, how to change the oil, tire...jump start a car, build something, exercise together(for health), skip a rock, start a fire without a lighter, run a fence, etc etc to each your own but sitting in front of a tv is not my primary entertainment.....it’s so far down on my list. Same reason I have no social media besides this site.... and look I grew up during the magic bird Jordan years....the 49er cowboy years. I played college ball. I realized once I started having kids that life is too short and I’m not spending it in front of a tv.........when I can have a more engrained relationship and lasting impression with my kids. sports do teach a lot about life but when it becomes the focal point in a society something is wrong. again this is just my opinion.

  25. I honestly don’t have a huge problem with athletes getting paid lots of money. That’s good ole American capitalism at its finest. I just want them to stick to sports. I don’t need an athlete telling me how to live my life, just cuz they get paid a lot to entertain me. Same with actors, actresses, musical entertainers, etc... keep it to yourself.

  27. Pick a place that sells strong drinks. You're going to need them to get through football season and get to basketball season. Notice how @BMTSoulja1 didn't mention anything about the team except a couple players. Lol.... And Porchia really should just stick to basketball. A question about Friday Night Fandom and Robert you start off with basketball. That speaks volumes about what you think of United football. SMDH...

  28. When it comes to national teams (olympics) it suppose to be about coming together and yes competition and the want to win but more importantly to show sportsmanship between countries.....it’s about money like you said. I’m pretty sure they make enough to live on like the avg American. nothing against soccer or any other sport, but they should be thankful to get paid to play with a ball. athletes get paid more than drs, nurses, 1st responders, teachers, social workers, military etc. SAD what an emphasis we put on sports. You ll find more people with there kids at gyms and baseball/softball fields on Sunday morning than in church.

  30. Coach Knowles coached the 9th grade team, Coach Cam coaches the JV. You might had been at a game when Coach cam was out sick for a week. Understand I'm a head coach myself and know the coaching styles of all the local coaches as players and coaches talk. He's a great coach not doubt, but not everyone's style and personality fits the culture and students of a school. I know every single one of those players. When you're coaching kids with various options for going to college, you have to find balance. It's not basketball or bust for the overall majority of this team at all. Many of them will get academic scholarships or family has the means to pay for college. They playing for the love of the game and/or the attention from girls lol. Rideaux was a special coach and person who had a way of getting a lot of these guys to play well above their level in many cases. His shoes will be very hard to fill. That team no doubt has a lot of potential. Will have at least 4 players averaging double digits with two averaging at least 15-20pts 10rebs
