The most logical post on here, and it came from a Newton hater more so than a WOS hater, oh wait he's both………. lol both teams in trouble Friday.

I had WOS picked before the season. I'd call it a 50/50 with a lean towards Newton at this point.

PA better focus on the band battle because they ain’t winning the football game this year...

I first want to make a comment on how wrong I was about this game. I thought we would upset Newton, but I had no idea they had athletes like that coming back. Yeah I knew Newton would be Newton but not that type of Newton. They will win state again. Secondly, we will be a playoff team and make a deep run in the playoffs again.

Idk. I just remember more people watching that game than any game aggy has ever played. Ever. Like at any point in the history of the game. So even at 5-7, still more “relevant” than deranged little brother. I know, it stings. But you’ve moved on to other, similarly mediocre things 😂

Both schools have amazing programs with awesome kids. After this week I’ll cheer for WOS the rest of this season & I bet a lot of WOS fans cheer for us too!

That's why I luv this bcz everyone has an opinion.it wasnt just the rain.better team won. I'll be the first to admit that w.o doesn't play well in it. But can't take away from the run silsbee had.ik for fact that w.o coaches did all they could to get them to know there assignments.its just some team developing are slower than others.case in point first play of the game silsbee throws a post route for a TD and DB didn't know what coverage they were in.it happens.silsbee is a team that starts slow every yr. No surprise at the first 2 games but gets better as the season goes on.in the words of a wise coach.its not where u start but where u finish.hoping all setx does well.

Ned's D is pretty good and stingy, I wasn't at the game last week but I imagine they were worn out from being on the field so much. The offense is going to have to get up to par fast or the D will have to carry them most of the season. That won't work very well against the better teams and in the playoffs. They have two (or three) very good RBs that need to be utilized better. Use the running game to open up the passing game and take some heat off the new OL until they get up to speed. The QB looked pretty good when he was in as a backup last year, I am not sure whats going on with that other than OL issues blocking and giving him enough time to throw. The two times I have seen him this year he was very antsy in the pocket.

I had predicted that United would lose the first 2 games. I heard the United coaching staff did an good job until the last few minutes when they attempted to run the clock down and had the QB running to the sidelines every play. I am sure they will clean that up. I have not heard much about PA but I am sure the game will be physical. United 31 PA 21

I've noticed many saying Newton has players that are just as good as Barlow , Foster. I don't think that to be true. You could search the nation and not find another of these guys. These young men proved themselves on and off the field in society. Newton has good players stepping up to fill the vacancy of players like Barlow but until they prove themselves on and off the field you cannot say they even compare to Barlow. Can these young players be like a Barlow or Foster ? Yes in their own way . Many of these young guys are making their Mark and earning their stripes but untile they prove themselves on and off the field and between the White Lines you can't compare them to Barlow or Foster. Being a fast runner , throwing and catching a football , having the most tackles all these things are included in the package but there is more to being a great player and athlete. Your activity in your classroom , neighborhood and society are just as important as being good on a football field. Barlow and Foster along with other players from Newton have done both . Saying Newton has players just as good as Barlow or some of the other players who have moved on is not accurate. These young men did it on and off the field and continue to contribute to both . 💯💜

It was a good game. Will Farr had 4 TD's on 157 yards carrying. Most impressive was Evadale's passing game, Klay Sylvestor passed for 247 yards with 2 TD's. Bryce Tousha had 78 yards receiving and 2 TD's Evadale's run game opened up the pass game.... They were firing on the ground and in the air.

I always do. Much respect for what newton has accomplished over the years. Because we understand how difficult it is to remain dominant for so long. Always a target on your back. Get the best out of every opponent you face. My boss played qb for newton years ago. He would say, we won state back in 98. And I'd remind him that their only loss was to WOS. When we both made it to state, he would take off one day to watch newton and I'd take off the next. Shame that we never made it the same day. But this could always be the year we both win it all. Except for this week. WOS in another close one. No score prediction. Just get out of there with a win. And no injuries on either side.

Marshall was tough last year, but Huntsville did beat them. The Huntsville QB will be back in a week or two and they will be tough to beat. FB Marshall needed a 4th down miracle and got it last year in the Region Final. I agree that it’s likely that we see a rematch this year.

This didn't get near enough love. Our OL had gone from dog turds to really, really good in a matter of two years. Even LSU fans had to admit last night that it's a strong unit. If we keep this unit intact all season, we will be hard to deal with on our league.

So in other words, you DIDN'T go to the games. Had you went, you'd seen that Foster had a pretty good game vs. PN-G and that Newton had a very good defense. Also, you'd see that 90% of Silsbee'a issues have done with bad tacking on defense and bad interior blocking. Maybe some sort if research should be done before posting. Also, maybe you been to know what Foster orchestrated last year. But who am I? Just some dumb Beaumont guy that dont know squat about anything outside of the city...

You want to fix Silsbee problem. Put Brisco at QB....! Not saying Foster isn't a good QB... But Brisco is your answer to Silsbee offense blowing up.! And I'm a 100% TIGERS FAN

Yes this is Will Farr senior year, they also have 2 other running back, Anthony barns and Chase Smith that are very good with lots of speed, which is helping Farr get the breaks he needs. Chase Smith is probably hands down the fastest kid in the school and he is a sophomore, I believe. Several of the boys talk about he fast he is. Regardless of the running game when you have the size and strength they have on the O-line and D-line a semi descent running back can get lots of yards. With a very good running back like Farr and that line it opens up a different type of game... Look for a couple running backs to be over 100 yards in this one.....

Thank you. You’re last statement is spot on. I know this to be true becuase when we had Yarbo a few years back we threw the ball more. Bridges would have been a better passing threat this year had he not been injured.

Everyone can say all they want about hitting the gym, learning life lessons and any other quote you can come up with. It still doesn't change the fact the offense is one dimensional. I'm not saying they need to run the spread but mix it up a little. This is not just on the varsity level if any one attended the Freshmen of JV games it was nothing but run, maybe throw the football once or twice a game. I promise opposing Defensive Coordinators know whats coming when they play Lumberton it's not hard to figure out. When you can't score a point against LCM something is wrong. I know everyone is calling the season a huge success but lets be honest this was a .500 team, and only reason Lumberton made the playoffs is because 4 out of 6 teams go which is ridiculous. Lumberton also lucked out playing the weakest district in the state in the first round. How many other programs run the read option? There are a lot of them in high school and college but they are able to pass the ball a little, so why can't Lumberton? I think it is because certain people are so arrogant and want to prove their way is right they will not even consider any kind of change.
