Vidor vs Lindale

Everyone does things a little differently.  I doubt Splendora runs the same spread offense as Carthage does.  A lot depends on personnel available.  What works great for Bellville may end up losing yards if Vidor runs the exact same play.  So unless there’s a glaring difference - they pass a lot - Vidor doesn’t, comparisons are not that significant, imo.  Even passing - Bellville has probably been using it since Jr Hi.  Vidor needs to do that, again imo.

But back to the game, Lindale’s line is huge, and they have good speed.  So we’re undersized & slow.  What, as a Coach, do you do to counter those two big factors?  Forget Spread, Slot T, I Formation and Wishbone.  I’ve no idea.  Perhaps some Coaches will explain.  My Coaching career is limited to Jr League Football (10-12 year olds), so I’ll leave it to the pros.

Why do we always end up playing CH or Lindale, can't ever catch Palestine. They seem to be the only team to beat from that district. Apparently, it's already decided up in East Texas if we already know the first round matchup. Curious how it all shook out on their side since Lindale goes in as the 3 seed.

CH beat them 79-45 and Kilgor beat them 49-35. Kilgor and CH play one another this week for the 1 and 2 seed.

Doesn’t take a football genius to know what needs to be done in this game.  It’s called “Hide the pigskin”.  Their passing attack will kill us.  If you doubt that watch the Huffman film.  If we can’t stop the pass, what else?  The long - time consuming, clock eating, defense tiring - drives for touchdowns.  We must get TD’s because I’m fairly sure most of their drives will.  Also, but less likely, the rare interception or a blitz resulting in a fumble.  Maybe they’ll get a few snaps over the QB’s head?  Probably not but we’re desperate, lol.

Another asset would be a fairly hard rainstorm (without thunder & lightning).  Maybe their receivers would have trouble catching the ball.  I see us as the underdogs, but hey, we’ve got a shot.  One advantage, they’ve yet to play a Slot T team, so we have that going for us.  Yes Pirates, it’ll be tough but we’ve got a shot.

Make them adjust to you. Not vice versa. Do what vidor does best. Ball control and minimum penalties.

Run the Ball, Run the Ball, and Run the Ball some more. We’ve got plenty of Running Backs…Use Them!

Defense - Everyone flying to the Ball, Play to the Echo of the Whistle, Keep Pressure on the Quarterback all night! Wrap Up, Wrap Up, Wrap Up!

Don’t beat yourself! Make them earn it!

Go Pirates!🏴‍☠️

Looked over on Smoaky.  They’re talking sweep.  All four games.  Okay, they’ll probably beat LCM & Livingston, but not for sure.  Lindale & Vidor - that durn sure ain’t a sure thing - but Palestine beating Lumberton?  C’mon man.  Get real.

Go Pirates, Raiders, Bears and Lions.

Someone is smoking over at Smoaky.

If I were to put odds it would be...

LTrain vs Palestine 85-15

Vidor vs Lindale 50-50

LC-M vs Kilgore 40-60

Livingston vs Chill 10-90

Anything is possible, even the District of Doom going 0-4. Possible but not likely.

I disagree, here is how I see it.

Lumberton vs. Palestine 80-20

Lindale vs. Vidor 70-30

Kilgore vs. LCM 80-20

Chill vs. Livingston 90-10

Go Pirates

Only way Lindale scores 42 is if Vidor starts turning the ball over and commits a lot of penalties. If Vidor takes care of business and plays clean football Lindale will not have enough time to score 42. Vidor has lots of running backs available going into this game, hopefully they keep fresh legs in there to eat up clock and yards.

Amen!  The big key Vidor’s in a position to win, the Eagles Defense is sucking wind between plays.  When their D is gassing up, they’re getting super tired.  Not sure how this dynamic works but it does.  You’d think the Offense would be getting tired also, but they seemed energized by it.

    • You won’t get an argument from me that this won’t hurt her nationally but I don’t think this will hurt her in SD or even an appointment in a Republican administration.  I’m sure she saw backlash from some, apparently not from folks like you and me, which is significant, but like I said, I appreciate the honesty.
    • Appreciate the confidence.  Why don’t we see how this works out for her.  Going great so far.  She MIGHT be able to get re-elected in South Dakota next election, but if a good candidate runs against her in the Republican primaries she may be in trouble.  I don’t think there’s a chance in hades she gets the VP nomination, and if for some reason Trump is dumb enough to give it to her, his chances of winning are probably over.  On a positive note, maybe DeSantis gets it now?  If they win and do a decent job then we’d have a VP ready to run for president in four years with a good shot of winning.
    • I honestly don’t have an issue with it.  I grew up around livestock.  We had a neighbor lose nearly 30 animals in a 3-week period before they caught the dogs doing it. Those dogs needed to die.  I was there when my uncle killed a dog that was eating his chickens… didn’t bother me. If one of my dogs ever bites one of my kids it’ll be dead.  Immediately.  But some things are better left unsaid, and probably 90% of the country loves dogs, with only a small fraction of them being able to relate to why she did what she did.
    • If only she was as politically savvy as you. 🙂
    • Lots of republicans are giving her hell over this.  An overwhelming majority of moderates aren’t going to like it, and obviously the over offended left hates it.  She’s tanked her shot at VP, whoever you want to blame.  I stated in an early post that I don’t have an issue with some dogs being taken out if they’re biting and killing animals.  But it’s not your opinion or mine that is going to matter on this one.
