Brook - Craig Stump Central - Donald Stowers Ozen - Thomas Brooks I know Brooks was a little earlier and Yes maybe these schools had better individual coaches in other years but I feel like around 2004 -2005 when Stump started at Brook and Stowers was in his 2nd year at central I believe that may have been the best collective of coaches in BISD . anyway this is Brooks vs Ned thread. 5 sacks of the QB will hurt the rushing yards. The last 3 plays from scrimmage by Nederland were all negative yards. -19 Nederland had 16 plays that totaled -55 yards.

I thought Ned had more rushing yards..... I have some kin folk playing for Ned #55 at Nose Everytime he was out of the game, WB made chunk plays on offense Something for the Ned defensive coaches to consider going forward

I digress. Craig Stump took over in 2005, and what do you know, they made the playoffs for the first time since 1997, and went three rounds deep. The coach makes all the difference. Chuck Langston is a lame duck coach.

Last Beaumont/nederland game I attended Colton Kimler decided to up his stats. So that's how long ago it's been for me watching a Ned/BMT game in person

Really neither team did until WB the last drive IMO. Neither team knows how to consistently wrap-up. Both teams have alot to work on. And also it would behoove both programs to invest in hydration early in the week and maintain it throughout.

This game is on the coaches, #10 had two fumbles and looked tired and hurt, #2 was moving the sticks.

A solid coaching staff would make west brook a really tough team with the talent they have year in and year out.

They've got to start with Chuck Langston. He hasnt had a playoff team since he's been at the helm, which was 2020. This is almost as bad as the AL Rabb coached Bruins in the late 90s. The talent is there. It always has been. He needs to go!

We got a couple of sophomores playing in the middle that might be why but they'll both be good players just need time adjusting to varsity speed

Crawford may be exactly what you think, and La Porte may be exactly what I was told—which is a much better offense and kicking game than 2024, and a better than expected defense even though they’re young. I’m going by LP players on the roster, and the former/retired LP coach’s take on the team right now. I haven’t seen them play yet this year.

There's a reason Hooks and Barbay started this in the late 80s. It wasnt to boost win % or rankings. These 2 teams test each other early and often. 2014 was one of those that taught WOS alot about what it would take to make it all the way. Point is it almost always a tuff game no matter the final score. Upsets happen in rivalries. I think of another word. This is more of a "respect" game. We both trying to play in Arlington and support each other along the way.
