Brook - Craig Stump Central - Donald Stowers Ozen - Thomas Brooks I know Brooks was a little earlier and Yes maybe these schools had better individual coaches in other years but I feel like around 2004 -2005 when Stump started at Brook and Stowers was in his 2nd year at central I believe that may have been the best collective of coaches in BISD . anyway this is Brooks vs Ned thread. It all starts here. Both teams have strong chances to play 16 games. 98 Newton only lost 1 game but still won their championship. Guess who? I could see that happening again this season. Here's to no injuries and giving us a reason to head to At&t a day early again. Good luck to our friends up north the rest of the way.

You are correct… 3-4 year’s ago in week 3 WOS took PNG to OT losing 26-20.. WOS ended up getting blown out in bi district and PNG went on to win a state championship. Crazy

I tagged you in the thread. it's the very first post pinned at the top of the football forum.

Pretty much what the non-district games are for is figuring out what works and doesn't and adjusting and getting the right personnel in place. There have been years that Ned was 0-3 in district and went three rounds deep in the playoffs. They have a pretty tough non-district so they are getting some good experience against other good teams in the area.

I digress. Craig Stump took over in 2005, and what do you know, they made the playoffs for the first time since 1997, and went three rounds deep. The coach makes all the difference. Chuck Langston is a lame duck coach.

Last Beaumont/nederland game I attended Colton Kimler decided to up his stats. So that's how long ago it's been for me watching a Ned/BMT game in person

Really neither team did until WB the last drive IMO. Neither team knows how to consistently wrap-up. Both teams have alot to work on. And also it would behoove both programs to invest in hydration early in the week and maintain it throughout.

That would be the Chuck Langston era. Since he has been at the helm, 2020, they have failed to make the playoffs. Sad since we're only 8 years removed from a 6A state title appearance. Talent wasted.

I saw. Makes no sense. Buna should be much improved from last year. Lots of returners. However, those returners are almost exclusively sophomores and juniors. Still very few seniors on this team.

Pretty good series win 5-1 good pitching and hitting. Full game up Arlington off. Yanks only 5 hits A win in the Bronx is always good. No cross country travel tomorrow.

Clearly, West Brook is still lacking in the coaching department. Has been since 2020.

WB forgot to practice special teams this season

We got a couple of sophomores playing in the middle that might be why but they'll both be good players just need time adjusting to varsity speed

Crawford may be exactly what you think, and La Porte may be exactly what I was told—which is a much better offense and kicking game than 2024, and a better than expected defense even though they’re young. I’m going by LP players on the roster, and the former/retired LP coach’s take on the team right now. I haven’t seen them play yet this year.
