How Do You Define an Elite Coach?
WhoDat and 5 others reacted to Matthew328 for a topic
I've enjoyed reading this thread...there's so many factors involved....another common example pointed out is Todd Dodge...he won a ton at Southlake and Westlake...not so much at his other stops...its definitely a combination of many factors and I think "fit" as well6 points -

I think vastly the entire free world believes that Iran is either directly or indirectly a global threat. You already know this, but I'll continue because I like to "hear" myself talk. Iran poses a multifaceted threat to global stability, primarily through its sponsorship of terrorist proxies, expanding missile programs and advancements in nuclear technology. It threatens U.S. and allied interests in the Middle East via groups like Hezbollah and Hamas. One guy, however qualified he may be, ain't gonna change my mind on that one...3 points -

BH pays extremely well and Pennington has been there a while. I think Pennington was there ten plus years. But when he got it he was the third coach in maybe three years? He also came from Hooks which is a 3a and the previous guy was from Canadian ( I think) which is 2 or 3a. My prediction is this time around expect a highly successful coach from a 5a/6a. I think it’ll be someone with a ring or someone who got real close.2 points -

Bryan Whitmire is top notch! He took a team with a first round playoff exit last year all the way to the State Championship Game this year. On top of that he is a great Christian Man that all of our boys can look up to. Excellent mentor and basketball coach that really cares about the kids and it shows. You couldn't ask for a better coach and family to be part of your community.2 points -

He should have resigned in the way he served. With honor. The post of his resignation letter to X was not only uncalled for, it was detrimental to his brothers and sisters in harm's way. Whether we agree or not, they deserve our support. His action undermines that.1 point -
What makes him stupid? Please tell me. I believe he’s earned the right to form his own opinion. I believe he’s sacrificed a lot for this country to voice his opinion. Your post is pretty callous imo. I guess you think you have more inside information than this guy. Smh1 point

It is not going to change mine either. I went to the source, and this was in his resignation letter: As a veteran who deployed to combat 11 times and as a Gold Star husband who lost my beloved wife Shannon in a war manufactured by Israel, I cannot support sending the next generation off to fight and die in a war that serves no benefit to the American people nor justifies the cost of American lives. The man lost his wife and blames Israel….I get that….. There will be someone to replace him and the mission will continue and don’t take the bait of a few posters riding the rules line…..I just ignore them.1 point -

What’s sad is that real Americans are trying to find ways to keep “outsiders” out of our elections. One would think the dems would be on board with that notion since they spent years and millions of taxpayer dollars trying to prove Russian collusion. So if Russians had made a mass migration into the US under Biden’s open border policies, they could vote, but let them “influence” our elections, the dems would cry foul. Someone make that make sense.1 point -

One could say DNA testing could be used instead. It would definitely be more effective. But it's over the top and, quite frankly, is unwarranted. Anyone can fake a birth record with minimal effort. But our political "leaders" come up with stupid crap that for some reason we blindly jump on board with thinking, "Yeah, that'll show 'em!" But it doesn't do anything if someone really wants to cheat the system. All it really does is muddy the water and give the other side a chance to claim SUPPRESSION! RACISM! Hell, let's cut the crap and just start getting chipped.1 point -

Yep and the NGO’s fund this nonsense. Of course when I say NGO’s I mean the taxpayers fund it. Our government is nothing more than money laundering organization. This is why we are almost bankrupt and all our politicians do is sit around and talk about it. I already had a suspicion of this but listen to this clip. 14 TRILLION DOLLARS!!!!1 point

Personally I don't think you need to speak for women. I work at a bank where names on DL's have to match account name. In my 23 years of banking, I have never had a woman complain they needed their divorce decree to change their name.....either to their married name or back to their maiden name. Why do you think poor people are dumb?1 point -

Theory About AI
SmashMouth reacted to UT alum for a topic
“2001 A Space Odyssey” by Arthur C. Clarke was written in 1968. HAL is the name of the AI operating system in control of a deep space expedition. Move each letter up one in the alphabet and what do you get? IBM. I don’t know if machines will take over the world. I do know that much of what was science fiction, back to Jules Verne, has become reality. The processing power of AI is mind boggling. The more it knows the deeper it can go. As Ol Dawg said, Pandora’s thrown away the key. I don’t see it ever getting sufficiently controlled so as not to pose as a continuous potential threat to individual privacy or national security. The scope is scary. Call me crazy, but I don’t use the voice controls on my phone, and it aggravates the hell out of my wife that I won’t use Alexa to search the tv. My phone has never told me out of the blue “I didn’t get that”. Hers has. I use ad blockers but they can still get at you. The power of the algorithm to guide us only to sites it thinks we like because of our searches is terrifying. That in itself is an example of how AI can influence us. It behooves us all to think twice (at least) before we believe whatever our devices are sending us. Thank you, Baddog, for bringing up a topic that a diverse political group can discuss together seriously.1 point -
Always good to send out a survey to make people think they are a part of the process and then do whatever you were originally planning regardless. If they want to “get it right”, they should consult the little league coaches in WV and WOS.1 point
