One thing worth noting: when y’all use terms like “libtards”, “pedo-supporters”, etc., just because you’re directing it to a whole group of people on the site versus one specific person doesn’t mean you’re not violating a rule.3 points -
The officials were very good and very consistent. I think the problem here was that they approached this game with a “they need to adjust to the way I am calling” rather than a calling the obvious. When OF did attack the rim they did get the same calls, but I also think that OF played much better help defense and the helper was generally who the foul was called on. Fairfield also did a lot of Iso ball and took bad shots when the help was there and I do think that rather than adjusting to the game in front of them, they called extremely tight the entire night. It’s not very often you see a varsity boys game get to the bonus every single quarter (at least in my opinion)3 points

It should not be that hard to address the topic and not another member. It’s not like accidentally blurting something out in a conversation. It’s typing and you have time to go back and look at it. Not that my opinion matters but I am not a fan of calling people out with the @ symbol. If that person feels like responding he/she will. That person may not even want to read that thread. There is no need for @someone and @you and ask what do you think of YOUR guy now. Post your comment and if no one wants to answer, great. But, that’s just an opinion That is not the same as calling a mod/admin’s attention to something or asking another person an educational question like @bullets13 to ask about being a teacher and/or the rules they follow. It’s really not that hard.2 points -

I agree. I watched the London/Goliad game. Wasn't all that impressed with either team. London didn't shoot well at all, particularly from FT and 3p line. London does play very physical. But in that game, they only played about 7 players. I think Orangefield is the better and much deeper team. The key for them will be their free throw shooting because I see London fouling them a lot. Orangefield will also need to rebound the ball defensively. London likes to crash the offensive boards. I also think Orangefield can play aggressively on the defensive end because of their depth. Fouling London is not a bad strategy due to their poor FT shooting. I honestly think Orangefield could win this game by double digits but I think it will be closer. Fairfield game was much closer than I predicted.2 points -

How Do You Define an Elite Coach?
BBtater984 reacted to oldschool2 for a topic
Phil Danaher is the winningest head coach in the history of Texas high school football coaches. 41 consecutive playoff appearances... since you brought up losing seasons. However, he never won the title. So.. is he elite? Some people (cough cough) would say no, because he never won the state championship. What are your thoughts?1 point -

QB1 reacted to oldschool2 for a topic
I actually went to the game.. (invited by an old friend). Orangefield's defense is much more aggressive in person than I saw each time I watched them play on NFHS. I'm impressed with how they get in your pocket.. so to speak. And. I really like 24's game. His ability to penetrate the paint at the end was one of the differences in the game. However.. could someone tell him that it's not necessary to have a conversation with an official literally every dead ball situation? I'm surprised OF didn't catch a tech because of that annoyance alone. There were a couple times I thought for sure they would've gotten one but didn't. Either way, congrats on the hard fought win. Definitely a positive that WW went small. That'll make it more attainable.. but Madison won't be a pushover by any stretch should you get this win over London. Best of luck, guys.1 point -

I think you’re right about the EVs. They were shoving us that way, kicking and screaming.1 point -
Credit for it. He reversed JoeBama's war on oil/gas. JoeBama's war was to increase gas prices so much that people would cry uncle and beg for EV's. Never happened because this is not what people wanted. But the Dems didn't care, they were gonna force it on you because they know better. This is what drove the price of gas up. Higher cost to companies is passed on to the public. So, Trump reversed these policies and consequently prices came down. This is not rocket science. As baddog said, global conflicts effect oil prices. The Strait of Hormuz if not actually blocked by Iran. But, tanker companies have installed a personal blockage by not moving their ships because of being scared of being attacked. They said they would start back up if Trump could guarantee safe passage.1 point

I don’t see Trump nuking Iran. He’s trying to prevent WW3, and that’s what we’d have if Iran were to nuke Israel. Then oil prices would be the least of our worries.1 point

tom halliburton's track volume 38, number 4
Mr. Buddy Garrity reacted to BrooksNDone for a topic
[email protected] Tom Halliburton’s Track Volume 38, Number 4 OK, not bad.... Another solid week of track and field performances from our athletes at the Southeast Texas high school meets, especially at Vidor and Houston. The weather cooperated again and 16 new area-best numbers resulted in the 34 UIL state events on the first March days. Golden Triangle athletes brought home 10 gold medals at meets in Houston, Huffman or College Station and that certainly has a way of shortening the ride back home. Even the Vidor Pirate Relays produced seven new area-best numbers – more than the Vidor meet normally has produced. Congrats go out to Hamshire-Fannett’s boys and Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s girls for capturing the team titles at Vidor. Now let’s dig into the impressive athletes. Throughout most of its 20-plus years, Port Arthur Memorial’s boys have been more dominant than the girls track team. Evidently, these 2026 Lady Titans are tired of sitting in the back seat. Coach Tamela Roberts saw her girls capture four gold medals and deliver two other GT-area best relay times at the Sonny Donaldson Relays on Friday at Aldine Davis high school. Darrell Granger’s boys added two golds and one area-best time but it’s unusual for the girls to outshine the boys in Port Arthur’s track spotlight. Tatiyana Crain swept gold in the shot and discus. Jalexis Neal won the 100 meters and ran the anchor on the winning sprint relay with Ariana Leday, Jada Guilbeau and Alicia Francis running ahead of Neal. Guilbeau and Neal comprised half of an area-best mile relay team along with Delia and Torrie Washington. Nederland’s boys also had to take a back seat. The Nederland girls delivered three new area-best times at two different venues. Kiley Havard, Marie Hawkins, and Avery Parigi carted home gold from Vidor with Havard notching new area-best times in both hurdle races. Ella Mecom trimmed off five seconds from her previous best time in the 1,600 at Texas A&M’s Bluebonnet Invitational. Oh yeh, and Mecom’s 3,200 time of 11:27.04 on the previous week at Bridge City broke a 25-year-old Nederland girls school record set by Lauren Pinder, according to Dale Dial. Your track writer definitely doesn’t keep up with those school records. So I’ve got to trust coach Dial on that one. Beaumont ISD’s track and field programs are not quite as established as some of their neighbors. First-year mentor Caleb Ceaser certainly is attempting to elevate United’s program off the ground floor. It’s obvious that Renwick Johnson and Kirby Jones have the Bruins starting to make more noise on the west end. West Brook’s boys came home from Houston with three gold medals and two new area-best outings. Junior Joe Bowser improved his area lead in winning the discus at 153-10. Terence Mouton produced the fastest area time to date in the open quarter, clocking a 48.93 in the prelims. Versatile junior D’Andre Carter won the 300-meter hurdles in 39.93. Another mighty good WB junior, John Fowler, improved his 1,600-meter lead by more than two seconds at A&M’s meet. We have an abbreviated schedule of meets coming up now. But great performances still may emerge from those meets. The Dow was at 45ish when Biden left office - It's still significantly higher today despite all that is going on. It comes down to if you support the exercise and the change of leadership (my guess is the son won't make it to the end of the month), and the outcome. While it is all up in the air right now, Arab countries coming together to fight Iran is not a bad thing. I think as long as Trump does not put boots on the ground, which he has already said he won't do, this will be a win. I think this will be over by end of month and prices will drop back.1 point -

The Dow isn’t above 50,000 anymore, either. 46,700 at the moment. Don’t look at your 401k expecting so see what you had last time you checked. Some of this is a knee-jerk reaction, but if this conflict doesn’t resolve itself very soon, I think that these corrections will be of a more permanent nature and continue to worsen. The bad news about this volatility is that the high prices aren’t enough to trigger exploration and production here in the US because it can go away again with the stroke of a pen.1 point -

Well, since we are always seeking to apply blame, then yes, Trump’s war with Iran has made prices go up. Please show me where I have ever said they didn’t. Also, when people are looking for that “gotcha” moment, it clouds their thinking quite a bit. Are you willing to point that finger of blame towards Biden’s administration? I know the answer. I went back and rewatched the game with Fairfield. That game was closer than you predicted because of the foul count! The foul count at the half was 16 OF to 5 for FF. Total it was 24 OF to 14 for FF and their last 4 fouls were intentional to stop the clock. It was pathetic officiating that kept Fairfield in that game! I did just watch the London/Goliad game too.
