without discussing specific schools, I believe that any school in the state that opts up for football should have to opt up in all sports. Since "travel" is the issue, that's an issue for all sports, not just one. It would be fun watching the administration then try and explain to the community why opting up for an easier football district is worth the majority of the other sports programs suffering.

Was a great battle, lots of growing up from this one for sure. Credit to EC for being who they are as a program with great coaching they wouldn’t go away no matter how many times we got up 15. 3A is loaded with good teams and D1 will be wide open. I disagree about the district being stacked. It's two team district. OF and EC. Then Buna Everybody else not so good.

The margin of error on WOS is 12 pts and its been wrong about us 4x. Most importantly the last 2 weeks. This team is playing with intangibles that cant be measured with artificial intelligence. But what i see is a team playing at their prime in the most important time of the season

No LCM is South of i10 some. LCM also borders Orangefield, WOS Deweyville and Vidor. The Vidor cut off is almost to there elementary

2275 was the exact number for last realignment that created a 6A with 247 schools. Most people are predicting a drop in the cutoff to keep 6A with a similar amount of schools. I believe a 2275 cutoff with current enrollments would only have 221 schools, plus 7 opt ups. So 228.

Coach Hooks will be missed! I've had the honor and privilege of serving with him! We learned the importance of real sacrifice from him as well as putting others before yourself! RIP!

Now that’s interesting, would like to hear the thought process on that idea.

I think that all of 9-4A DII should "opt up". Would give us a chance to have a 4A State Champion and cross out the teams who opt up for no reason other than they are scared. Opting up would get our schools away from Carthage in the State Championship. Hopefully UIL will crack down on the "opt up" scam.

Im biased but that wouldn't be a battle at all. Lol thats why they play(ed) up with us.

Tezeno was a beast wherever he played.Also had a guy named Kevin Smith in the secondary A one trick pony offense had no chance against a CT defense , although I think Simmons still got over 100 yards , if I remember it .

Dan Ray Hooks was one of a kind and a true Texas HS football legend.

Enjoyed the game last night. Both teams fought hard but BH not being able to contain Memorial's QB on the outside was the difference. Congrats to Memorial on the win. I did not enjoy the several Memorial fans who stood up three quarters of the game in the middle of BH side to cheer on their team. When asked to sit by someone who was blocked, the response was no. There was plenty of seats on Memorial's side, but some people show no respect or class.

Congrats Titans! Great season BH…losing sux rocks, I know, but you proved a lot of people wrong this season. 4 rounds deep is nothing to be ashamed of at all, and it certainly wasn’t the 30-40 point blowout many were predicting. As for as the game goes, if you can’t contain the edges; especially with a QB like Amante, it’s going to be a very long night! That kid is very fun to watch!

Man, HH must’ve woken up this year and learned how to coach. They wanted this man run out of town last year and now he’s in the state semifinals? Crazy how quickly things changed. Congrats WOS! Finish the job.
