I don’t think anyone is saying that BC has the BEST defense or is better than everyone else by any means. What I do see is that BC fans are excited about their football team and that hasn’t really been the case in a long while. The season will end at some point no matter what but BC football has come a long way. I don’t have a dog in the fight but definitely rooting for success for all the 409 teams.

I believe that there are some who want the team to fail so Hick fails. I don't think those people are on this board. But, to your second point. Winning in the playoffs IS NOT enough... the bar is higher than that. No its not always achieved, but IT IS where the bar is set in this community. People don't have to like it, but it is what it is. I, too, agree that this was a big win for him. I am glad to see the kids having success.

Winning the first round isn’t usually something to brag about since it’s so watered down these days…last night was a good win and maybe the best of his career!

Hopefully this was a coming out party for HJ. You can’t lose to Vidor on Tuesday and then come out with this kind of Intensity and take WB to OT if you want to be a serious state contender. The consistency needs to be there week in and week out. WB has to feel good knowing all the have to do is keep the game close and then in the last few minutes of the game, just give the ball to Garrett and move out of the way, that kid is special!

Your memory is a little off/wrong. There wasn’t much impressive happening 2007-2009. 2011-2012 defense may be the one you’re thinking about. That team was as talented as BC has had with Menard, Dishon, Hubbard etc etc. The entire 2007-2015 was robbed by the incompetence at HC. I’m still not sure how Coach Cris Stump was able to finagle sticking around collecting a check for nearly a decade with a grand total of (0!) playoff wins. Left at least a handful of playoff wins out there in the time frame. Complete highway robbery from Coach who was supposed to be an offensive guru yet called plays like he had money on the other team. Anywho, this current BC defense is very very good. They gang tackle, are in the right spot & make you feel it. Coaching staff has been impressive on all sides of the ball. Proof is in the pudding, you need the Johnny’s & the Joes but coaching is king. Keep fighting Cards!

I’m so over hearing the opting up to avoid certain schools in the district. BC has done well and being 10-1 is not easy know matter who you play. It’s a grind throughout the season and having to deal with injuries and still be able to finish where we did in district is great. Now that we beat chapel Hill and pretty much everybody said we would lose BC still getting hated on. This is SETX where when your school gets eliminated you start rallying behind the schools moving on in the area.

Word I received is that Bailey will not play against Ennis but is hopeful to play in 3rd round. I have been told the extent of his injuries but that doesn't need to be publicized here. That's for his family and school to announce.

Also want to say this: not everyone is cut out to be a Head Coach. Some people can be one of the best coordinators you've ever seen, but they get a Head Coach role and things roll downhill. Some folks are better suited for a coordinator position 🤷🏾‍♂️ just my opinion. Also coaching in your hometown isn't always the best thing. 😉
