Geography has never been the UIL's strong suit

All good points. Crumedy's district record is 12-10 in his four years, Playoff record is 3-3. All three of those wins were when they advanced to 4th round in 2023. Had 1st round losses in 2022 and 2024. Missed playoffs this year. So one could say he caught lightning in a bottle in 2023. Other three years, not so much. I agree, talent level has dropped some but not so much that they should miss the playoffs when 4 teams advance from a 6 team district. As for player development, Smith was a junior in Crumedy's first year and was already high on lot's of folks recruiting radar. What about his AD success? Barbay may not have been an all time great at Jasper, but never has Jasper overall athletic department been this bad in his tenure.

I apologize folks for not mentioning what else Crumedy has done in 4 years. Helped more players move on to college(twice according to DCTF has developed players into the 1 recruit in the state at their postion). More so than Barbay did in 10 years.

First off, we ALL know the overall. talent/skill level for Jasper has been below the DAWG'S let's say average the past couple season so that hasnt helped. Also since Crumedy took over scheduling the cake walk preseason they had grown accustomed to under Barbay's tenure went away and they have had if not the toughest schedule one of the toughest for sure in SouthEast Texas. In that 22-24 record includes something that Barbay couldn't do in 10 seasons as Jasper headboard. That is play a fourth round of playoffs game. Barbay had title game talent on 2 teams for certain. 2013 and 2018, but still no 4th round. So since you have made a point thru out the season to bring his record at Jasper. I am here to remind you and everyone else he has actually done more with less so far than the previous head coach before him.

I was never much of a Barbay fan but his numbers aren't bad at all. These are his official records at Jasper: 87-34 overall (.719) 40-6 in district play (.869) (4 district championships) 14-10 playoff record (.583) His first 4 seasons at Jasper: 33-17 overall (.660) 16-4 district record (.800) 6-4 playoff record (.600) He made the playoffs all 10 seasons. His worst record was 6-5 (his last season). Lost only 6 district games in 10 years.

More often than not lol don’t get me wrong… it has it’s frustrating moments lol now too be fair… Bellville has had at least 1 D1 caliber RB in the backfield up until this year for the last 10 years so that definitely helps as well. You still gotta have the jimmys and joes to be successful regardless of the offensive playbook

It won't be Humble ISD. All of their schools are 6A, with the exception of Kingwood Park. Lufkin has 5AD1 numbers

Hitchcock turned in 573 they will for sure move up to 4ad2.

Barbay didn’t have shabby numbers first 3 years at Jasper 26-11 career at Jasper 86-32. By glancing at the numbers he’s the 2nd winningest coach there.

BU's losses were to PN-G and P.A. Memorial, 2 dam good teams and 2 loses to Barbers Hill and Lufkin, 2 decent teams. I tend to think Madison hasn't seen the level of competition that the Wolves have and I think that will play a part come Friday night. If the BU QB plays like he did in the WB win and the first half of the Sterling game, the Wolves will be moving on to the 2nd round for the 1st time ever...

I agree that it’s not an ideal job but I’m sure there are coaches out there that can get something out of our boys and at least field a competitive team. Don’t have to win a lot but at the very least be competitive.

My Bi-District Round schedule: (staying local this week, got to take advantage) Thursday Deweyville vs. Grapeland at Doggett Family Stadium in Beaumont (pregame meal at Lupe Tortilla) Friday Orangefield vs. Diboll at Bulldog Stadium, Jasper (pregame meal at Elijah's) or Evadale vs. Lovelady at Eagle Stadium, Woodville (pregame meal at Elijah's) or Pine Tree at Lumberton at Raider Stadium, Lumberton (pregame meal at The Tree) Saturday South Carolina at Texas A&M at Kyle Field, College Station (11am game, meal after at The Republic Steakhouse)

These are always kinda tough to predict. I think HF wins in a close one. La Marque has improved a lot this year. Their sophomore QB has similar numbers to ours, and their running game is better. But they’ve played a much softer schedule, and have greatly padded their stats in 5 games against complete cupcakes. HF played one cupcake. LM lost to 2/3 of the quality teams they’ve played, and that Huffman win has lost some value over the course of the year. One common opponent in Hitchcock, who HF beat and who beat LM by 3 touchdowns. And is that close loss to Columbia last week a good loss (like I felt HF’s loss to WOS was), or is Columbia just an average team also benefiting from a weak 6-game district schedule?

I challenge you to find another program in southeast Texas that had as many underclassman starters as Buna had.

No they don’t. Most of the kids who were on JV this season will be on JV next season as well. Buna played 22 sophomores and 2 freshman this season. They will return something around 17/22 starters. They were very young g this season.

Hope it goes like the Dayton game, good to see second team getting some reps and developing their skills, never know when someone is going to have to step up. It also preserves the starters. I'm impressed with #18 he looks like another option in running situations and his throws have looked good. I've said it before, but deep runs mean so much for sustaining a winning tradition. I'll just use #2 as an example, he already has around 25 games at the varsity level and he may not even have his Texas DL yet. It's also great fun to see the Seniors who don't play much get to go have some fun. I appreciate Coach Joseph letting them play. They paid a great price in commitment by enduring long hours and tough workouts to be out there. I also gotta give some props to the Band,etc for their part. Lastly, thanks to the coaches and their families who make many sacrifices during this season so we can enjoy this time. HIgh School football in Texas is the best deal in sports. And High school football in our area is special. PNG fans be thankful, grateful and humble.

Man what you expect Dayton got 8 and 9 men in the box, aint noone gonna run up the middle on that, maybe around the ends. Of course we gonna look flat, but thats why the passing game is so important hitting the quick screens in the flats. Coach Gizzy is making some great calls to counter the pressure everyone is sending. You just have to trust the process. Next two games will prob be blowouts. Relax the run game is there just not against 9 in the box!!

Yep Huffman is getting Lindale. Nevil did a great job considering the circumstances. He was making his first career start playing for a DC with 1 week of preparation. He played good enough for Huffman to win, but ultimately special teams was Huffman's undoing. If Cook plays it's probably a different story today. But he didn't, so you tip your hat to Bridge City, get ready for Lindale and see what happens.

There's still 2 chances for bragging rights with both playoffs and overall season winners to be determined. Pretty sure LC-M is playing Kilgore. Or did Kilgore not win district up there? LC-M is the 4th seed. Personally, I don't think BC beats WO-S or Silsbee. Maybe HF. Would beat Shepherd. Huffman playing without Cook was a tough situation. He was the dude that made that offense go.

Oh 100% our boys looked defeated before the games started but the coaches gotta keep them in it. All we can hope is that this season will be used as a learning tool.

!!:0/57/F The game was essentially called with 3 minutes left due to frustrations running over on both sides. At that point, the officials decided to run out the clock with no more plays being run. When I turned off the radio call, the Jasper announcers were saying that no one (including the head coaches) was even shaking hands. Based on everything I've heard about our guys this year, this is not surprising at all. We've got to conduct ourselves a lot better than this going forward.
