I don’t think simply establishing uniform rules for participation in optional secondary activities would rise to the level of discrimination. It’s simply, “If you want to play, here’s how things have to be,” which is already a fair way to describe the current rules. Having heightened standards for a school to show they aren’t violating the “no transfers solely for sports” rule is hardly some kind of targeted attack on a specific group, unless the specific group we’re talking about is “people who import new players every year” (in which case, they should be targeted).

BISD needs to change their way of thinking with this next hire. No more hiring friends, family, retreads, etc. Go outside the box and hire an up and coming coordinator and let him bring in his own staff. Would be amazed and what success they could have with that formula.

It appears BMT ISD does have open enrollment according to this registration link. They just set deadlines as any other open enrollment district. [Hidden Content] I can understand students transferring out as BMT ISD is rated 1140 out of 1201 school districts in Texas. Not sure if they’re a PEG school district or not. Would have to check. Definitely seem to be borderline. If they are, the State allows transfers out with basically no questions asked. [Hidden Content]

Woodville defense has played well enough to win. Only given up a total of 159 yards of offense through three quarters.

This game is probably out of reach for Woodville based on how things are trending but hats off to them for a great season… Bright future for that QB

I like what happened to that WR from N Houston that tried to transfer into Tomball with his AAU best friend the QB, “because his old school was unsafe,” except all of his siblings were left back in the unsafe school. He ended up forgoing this senior season on the field, then played at TAMU. That’s what happens when the system works like it should. What ever happened to that kid?

I believe Langston and Colbert are/were making $98,000 and both are campus athletic coordinators. I may be wrong on the salaries but not campus positions.

The head football coach in districts with more than 1 high school often carries the duty of campus AD. Thus, some larger districts have competitive pay whilst others do not. Although, it is not always easy to find specific names, govsalaries can give you an idea of pay from district to district for such positions.

I think you’re paid extra for being the HC and the AD. That’s the case at towns with one football team. When you have a district with multiple high schools. You generally have several HC’s with one AD. Or at least that’s how I thought it was…

The complaining about Faith Family has been going on for many years by many people. Didn't just start last season with Silsbee folks. I actually think that's a different topic all together. I also think some sour grapes were involved with Silsbee folks last year.

No Coach Todd has built a program that kids want to play for! Look at Skyline before & after he left. Kids want to play for the best teams, it happens at every level.

I have a close friend that has been coaching for several years.. including a short time in SeTx.. who says, "Life ends south of Hwy 7" when referring to why this area is seemingly behind.

A kid don't have to establish residency in an open enrollment school district...if the kid doesn't live in the district, they simply are ineligible for varsity athletics for a calendar year.
