Ok....my take. (1) If you take the abhorrent holding calls from the Huffman game (8-1 against by the way...) Silsbee playing pretty clean ball compared to some earlier games in the past. 2) Defense is not only wrapping up they are devastating interior lines right now. This defense is quickly approaching the level of the state-semifinal teams a few years ago. Super aggressive. It will take some better teams offensively for a clearer picture of true level of play. Except for the 7 points scored by Vidor off the interception the starting defense as a whole was not on the field. Pretty consistent. 3) They don't run the ball well. They run the ball exceptionally well. 9 different backs handling the ball in both games. Scary, considering the blocking will only get better as the new online gets gelled. 4) I will agree somewhat on the passing game consistency. However, Miller only playing two quarters a game right now sonwho knows....the short passing needs improvement. My take. #TigerNation Jmo3 points

Should be a win for the Broncos. Montgomery doesn’t have much this year, but they do have a QB that can scramble. The QB can’t pass very well, so you just have to control the ground game. Broncos by 212 points

West Orange Stark vs PNG

I have and always and will respect WOS. I like to think of myself as somewhat of a PNG Football historian and can assure you the Indians have rarely beat WOS. 1977 WOS's first year PNG 36 WOS 13 1978 WOS 28 PNG 20 1979 WOS 28 PNG 24 1980 WOS 36 PNG 24 1981 PNG 30 WOS 7 1982 PNG 19 WOS 14 1983PNG 17 WOS 14 1984 WOS 23 PNG 14 1985 WOS 11 PNG 2 1988 WOS 51 PNG 0 1989 WOS 25 PNG 20 1990 WOS 35 PNG 14 1991WOS 35 PNG 16 1992 PNG 14 WOS 13 My senior year. This is the game that Dan Hooks had to forfeit due to the use of an ineligible player PNG vs WOS would have been for the District Championship Coach Matt Burnett had the choice to play the game or skip it since technically the Indians where defacto district champs. Burnett did not want an asterisk by his name so he chose to play the game. The Indians won on a two point conversion attempt by WOS as time expired. The ball was fumbled at the goalline by the WOS player and a different WOS player recovered it thus nullifying the two point conversion and leading to a slim Indians victory. 1993 WOS 42 PNG 10 1996 PNG 35 WOS 7 1997 WOS 35 PNG 0 1998 WOS 17 PNG 12 1999 WOS 21 PNG 14 2000 WOS 7 PNG 0 2001 WOS 28 PNG 0 2002 WOS 3 PNG 0 2003 WOS 21 PNG 20 2012 WOS 24 PNG 13 2013 PNG 37 WOS 34 2014 WOS 33 PNG 27 2015 WOS 28 PNG 14 WOS has always had a magnificent program. I love it when we play the Stangs because you'll find very few teams to get you ready for district play our get you ready for the playoffs. This years team at PNG has a strong o line and a lot of experience. I do not know who will win but I bet it will be a great game. People can make what they want of the two lopsided games we have played this season. I have watched nearly every practice scrimmage and game this season trying to get an understanding of our new coaching staff and type of play. The only thing I can gather from all I have seen is this is a different team than the last years and they will be a very strong team by seasons end. So I will not predict a win against WOS and believe that they deserve the respect due to them. I will be there with the rest of you all attending hoping for a safe injury free game because after the Stangs we face FBM. So hats off to you WOS team and fans. You were the program of the last decade hands down and earned everything you obtained. Looking forward to the game and I am even excited to play over there. Best of luck we will see you at the game.2 points -
Why would a defense that gave up 81 total yards be “lacking” in confidence? On the contrary. PNG D better not be overconfident in practice this week. WOS is a different beast. I will say that was the best pursuit and tackling I have seen from PNG in years.2 points

Friendly Reminder About Forum Rules
thetragichippy reacted to bullets13 for a topic
Football season is upon us, and it’s the time of year where posters get all up in their feels and start breaking forum rules. I encourage everyone to read through them if they’re new to the site, or if maybe it’s been awhile and you need a refresher. To help you out, I’ll go over a few of the ones that usually get broken here for your reading pleasure, and even provide a few examples for you: No profanity. This includes using symbols. Obviously not all profanity is created equal, but for certain words, or for using them to describe someone else, you’ll catch a ban pretty quick. Keep it civil: no abusive or racial comments. acceptable: I disagree with that. unacceptable: you’re an idiot. acceptable: you’re wrong about that. unacceptable: You’re an idiot. acceptable: quit asking me the same thing over and over. unacceptable: I’ll answer you when your mom leaves. I think y’all get the point here. Stick to the topic. This can get a little fuzzy at times, and it’s okay to bring up someone’s comments on a previous thread, within reason. acceptable: when this team played last week you were saying something different. unacceptable: in the Benghazi thread on the political forum you made a point I disagree with. Acceptable: LCM is down 10. If they lose and we win this one, we’re tied for first in district! unacceptable: I just saw that Carthage is up 35 on Marshall. They’d destroy this team if they played. again, use common sense. and finally, and probably most importantly, no bashing of teams, coaches, individual players, or communities. acceptable: the quarterback is struggling with his accuracy today. Unacceptable: this quarterback is garbage. Bench him! acceptable: the secondary can’t cover their receivers. Unacceptable: man, their wide receivers are torching #3! acceptable: I don’t like coach Harris’ game-plan. Unacceptable: this coach is a moron! Fire him! acceptable: I think Johnson is a better option at running back. unacceptable: this team isn’t going to win until they quit handing the ball off to Williams. acceptable: Hamshire Fannett doesn’t have enough parking, and needs turf. Unacceptable: The HF stadium sucks. They should bulldoze it. acceptable: this is a tough matchup for Williams. unacceptable: Williams isn’t good enough to be on the field in this one. He’s single-handedly losing the game for us. acceptable: it seems like we have to problems with the fans every time we go to Caneyhead. Unacceptable: everyone who lives in Caneyhead is white trash. Use your common sense here once again. It’s understandable to get frustrated with teams, players, facilities, and communities. If you can’t find a way to respectfully make your point, just keep it to yourself. i appreciate your time here, gentlemen. Here’s to a great season of SETX football, and an enjoyable season of posting on the best sports site in Texas!1 point -

Aggies tuning in LHN. What could be better? Ewers came out a bit shaky but settled down and led the Longhorns to a 52-10 victory while covering a 37.5 point spread. Ewers ended up 16/24 for 255yds., 2 TDs and 1 INT. Not bad at all for a freshman QB. Aggies kill me. So tough on my Horns while winning nothing.1 point

I know...I know... This is one thing that Mike and Tim did exceptionally well, kept in game stats. I try to bring a really great play by play calling to those who listen. Unfortunately my stat game isn't up to par while doing that. Our team is coming together but it may take a game or two to get it back down after changing staff this year. Only our 2nd year so be patient, please. Of course, if you wanna work for free and keep stats for us. Let me know.1 point

This game will be a god indication of our coaching staff and their ability to game plan. The passing game we used last week, will be non existent against WOS. Defensively WOS will play tight and bring pressure, you won’t see a CB playing 10 yards off the ball. I’m anxious to see how this shakes out. For PNG to win, I think it will need to be a strong performance by the O Line, Tommy will need to run for 100+ yards, and no turnovers on the PNG side, if we can do that, and make it a competitive game, we have a shot to win in the end. If we turn the ball over, as we did against Memorial, it will be a long night.1 point

Even if you're right, college presidents from the "lesser" conferences weren't now and would never have voted for only the top 12. For those in favor of an expanded playoff, this was about the only outcome you could truly REALISTICALLY hope to have had occur. Well, other than a complete break up of the NCAA (now there's an idea!). There should still be no less than 10 deserving teams in a given year. Better than 4, again if in favor of expansion.1 point -

Based on some of these post, appears to be a few Vidor haters in this area. Rather amazing. I don’t hate any other school/program. May envy them somewhat - their winning traditions, but it is what it is. Last night we saw a spark of encouragement. Spotted SF 21 points and were within 7 of tying the game prior to another fumble. Maybe, just maybe, the Pirates will start turning things around. Nothing like a win or two to change the mindset, and as I posted a day ago, imo the problem they have now is mental, not physical. Maybe those Vidor posters like to see the glass half full instead of half empty an give this years team the benefit of the doubt on putting together a winning season. I mean they are putting in the work to try to accomplish that goal. Its not that hard to pull up Vidors record for the past 20 years or so to see that they haven’t put together 2 district championships back to back but thanks for that incredible insight.1 point -
What game were you watching. Your team only had 45 total yard penalties should have been more. I'm not the only one who saw the refs take away 2 points when we were clearly in the end zone. The refs made some bad calls PERIOD!1 point
