  2. Already emailed Crippen, he’s moving to safety….

  3. He also works for Dodge’s son at SLC. I’m sure Todd Dodge knows him well.

  4. He is Gary Joseph's son. Head Coach for Katy. That is my guess as to what they like about him. Otherwise, replacing Faircloth with a special teams coordinator will be a tough one to explain by the supt. and by TD himself.

  5. Much easier to win when you have 7,000 students to chose from and new recruits every year, and big name move ins, bottom line the best coach in the world couldnt win a state championship with no talent!!

  6. I was finally able to see the video after my grandson showed me yesterday. I have not been a big fan of Coach Mitchell but after seeing this I have lost all respect for him as a coach. I can't believe that he is allowed to run a basketball program with gimmicks like this. I have zero issues with four corners or slowing the pace down, but this is a mockery of the game. The time he spent working on this he should have spent working on other weaknesses that his team has. Coaches like this usually do not have an identity. A identity is full court man, zone defenses or whatever they do that is great. Instead they constantly change what they do based off their opponent. Get an identity and become great at what you do with your personal instead of changing all the time for your opponents. If you coach like that then you're running a scout team instead of a Varsity level basketball team.

  9. If any PNG fans ever pull that “For Sale” bull crap on a coach again I’m cheering for Nederland. I’m sure this new coach will be great. Maybe better in some ways. And the coaching tree and relationships he comes from aren’t nothing. And with the whole “Todd Dodge consultant to help build a culture” thing the board is doing, maybe he’ll be successful putting a program in place similar to what’s at Katy and Westlake and Southlake. Good luck to him.

  10. The OC hire will be interesting. His dad runs the Power I at Katy. SLC runs the spread, but he coaches defense. I would think most defensive guys would prefer more of a ball control offense.

  11. Proud PN-G alumnus...let's rally...support the new hire and give him an opportunity to be successful. I'm disappointed that PN-GISD parted ways with Coach Faircloth. What's done is done. Time to support the new leader of the Tribe, Coach Joseph. Let's not nit-pik him to death before he puts on a purple shirt. Give him shot. No "For Sale" signs in his yard when he makes a wrong call. Make him feel welcomed to our Tribe. That's part of our commitment to Honor, Pride, and Tradition. We carry those core values with us after Pre-K through 12th grade. Welcome Coach Joseph. Honor, Pride, and Tradition. Go Indians. Peace. Yes, I know the fans/alums of Nederland, PAISD, and others laugh at the culture of PN-G. I get it. But, we are who we are. Peace.

  12. I may be asking for info you don’t have, but any idea what they like him for? As in, what’s the reason to be excited about this guy? He has a shorter resume than Faircloth did coming in. Which isn’t to say I am unhappy with this pick. But if we’re going to run Faircloth out of town I’d hope it was for an obviously better choice, at least. If the board won’t keep him, we can at least give him the respect of getting someone better than him.

  13. From KFDM: PN-G ISD superintendent Dr. Mike Gonzales confirms that Jeff Joseph is the finalist for the head football coach/athletic coordinator position. The school board will meet Monday night to approve the hire. Joseph is currently the special teams coordinator and he coaches defense at Southlake Carroll Sr. High School in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

  15. 21-6A and a couple of other Houston area districts do the 2nd half of district play on Wed./Saturday due to the lack of game officials. They wanted to have the capability of getting the pick of the litter when it came to choosing officiating crews.

  16. I never seen a dude so obsessed with with BU is doing when he needs to be worried about what PAM will do in the post Sanders/Guilbeau era. I have them finishing 5-5…. Possibly 4-6 if they can’t beat Lee. Even you’re not high on y’all coaching. what’s next? Are your going to start tugging on West Brook’s jock strap again like last year? That’s pretty much expected.

  17. Not true. They have only picked the players he should play as of now. They are still going through some old playbooks from their childrens pee wee days so they will be familiar with system

  22. Two things for sure: 1. Katy, SLC and Westlake. The guy should know how to win. Add up the State titles between them. WOW 2. Gary Joseph, Todd Dodge and even Riley Dodge. Not a bad group of coaches to hit up for advice! Welcome Coach Joseph.

  27. TheDream34 forcing a team into a game of chase is a strategy as well. Yes it can be an aggravating one for the team chasing, but it's a strategy none the less and within the rules. If people don't like it then maybe they should avoid high school basketball games. Well at least ones where a team is trying to give themselves a chance to compete against a stronger opponent. And my question for the haters, would you be mad if your team used the same strategy or would you talk your coach up like he is a genius?

  28. What did Coach Mitchell do that was so bad? His players were playing within the rules of the game. Are there people on here that are jealous they didn't think of the strategy first? Any good coach, which Coach Mitchell is an excellent coach is going to do what gives their team the best chance to be successful. So, why is everyone faulting him for doing what he felt would give his team a chance to win the game? In the early 2000's Huntington boys and Woodville boys played to a 5-3 final, because Woodville sat in a zone and Huntington held the ball waiting for them to come out and play man. I wonder if people would of blasted the Woodville coach for sitting in a zone if this site had existed back then? He did what he thought would give his team a chance to win. The next time they played that season Huntington won by double digits. What Coach Mitchell was doing has the same concept as what Woodville did many years ago. If you don't like the strategies he uses then go get a teaching and coaching job and lets see what you do strategy wise when you play a team like Silsbee. I give many kudos to Coach Mitchell for his strategy against Silsbee and what he has accomplished so far at Lumberton in his time there. His teams will continue to to be competitive and give people fits.

  37. I'm going to be honest, the thing I saw was a conservative hit piece, which, if this is being portrayed accurately, is wholly justified. I haven't really had any opportunity to do any research yet. My first guess is that it's a questionable or bad piece of legislation that is being oversimplified by conservatives in the media to make Biden look as bad as possible, but also makes him look bad without their help.

  38. You are so delusional and unrealistic, it’s damn near impossible to have a conversation with you. Only 1 team in a division wins it every year. At the start of the year, each division has around 5-8 teams that have a realistic chance. Sometimes making the 3rd round, or state quarterfinals with the talent you are coaching is in itself a great feat. if you think any coach is gonna go to PNG, and beat the current talent Crosby has had, or a program like Aledo, you don’t know the game of football. Dodge didn’t win state at Marble Falls, or Cameron Yoe. Didn’t even get close. Why is that? Surratt isn’t going to Hamshire-Fannett and going to win state, why is that? When I go to watch a high school football game, I usually try to stand along a fence by the track to avoid ppl like you in the stands. Don’t have a clue, but boy, you have all the answers from row 32, seat C.

  39. I am still against having a shot clock but this is not basketball in any way shape or form. I get stalling and spreading the floor to get defenses to come out and guard or protect a lead but this is not that. Just trying to keep the game close and not lose by 30. My name is Mike Sanchez. I'll state this opinion to any coach. I already have.
