The offense HAS to change. Fusilier needs to be involved. Maybe less slip screens and bubble screens designed to #4 and more creative ways to put the ball in the best player’s hands. Defense can’t keep scoring, getting TO’s and have the offense stall out. Defense is also without starting corner and most likely free safety

Raiders are for real this year. I think they will edge out HH for the win. Defense will make the difference which ever team wins! Should be a great game.

Besides those poorly delivered remarks, I thought it was funny that she was near no one but was wearing a mask, apparently to support the administration‘s policies or wishes on masking. Alexis Morris has had a very unique college basketball experience. She was first recruited and committed to UCLA, then decided to decommit and commit to Baylor University where she had some very meaningful playing time especially in the big tourney where she made some big plays. Then in the off-season, quit of got kicked off the team, had a disagreement with Coach Mulkey, depends on what story you read. Then, ended up transferring to Rutgers University, where the NCAA wouldn’t let her start playing until late December, never really saw the court and I believe she may have been injured for a little bit. Next, in the off-season transferred closer to home to Texas A&M and was back up PG and got some very minimal playing time had a big shot in the tourney. Think she was next in line for the PG position this year, but entered the transfer portal after the season. Now, she is being reunited with Coach Mulkey at LSU, I hope her nothing but the best and hope she has a very successful Senior Season.

Should be a packed house come Friday night. Glad my LCM wife buys season tickets every year for her and her WO-S husband. Lol

No emotion for me I’m trying to think through this. I don’t think Crosby is as good as last year and I think the competition has went down. Carthage was a great game on paper , but COVID decimated their team and somehow they still snuck by. Manvel always looks good on paper, but they are not the Manvel of the past possibly going to be the 3 seed in their district. The only impressive win by Crosby this year was against PAM. Before all you girlfriends get on here and remind me that you beat BH, congrats we have the worst D in the district. Again Crosby should win this game, but I wouldn’t depend on last years fluke to be a main stay for Crosby.

Interesting that the old Midland Lee, now Legacy, is the only 6A school in the rankings that is not in the 4 largest greater metro areas of the state. The power in the top classification has long ago shifted to those areas. Gone for the most part are the days of the smaller metros having great teams. Beaumont and Longview did have the 2 teams in the 6A Div II championship a few years ago, but that was an aberration over the last 20 or so years.

HJ missed their chance at a state run last year, and won't have another realistic chance for quite some time. They were basically evenly matched with Huffman, but bombed out in the first round against BC. For the first time in a long time the 4A tournament played like the small town tourney it should be every year, and HJ had their best team for the better part of a decade. Combined with both Silsbee and Yates being way down, HJ should've been about 50/50 with Huffman to go to state. This area will be running through silsbee again for the next several years. They should have a very interesting competition for district this year between HH/HF/HJ. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of 2-loss teams tie for district champs.

So I’m gathering that you think this will be a complete blowout? TC will not be able to compete?

When I worked at Bingman in BISD every child wore a seatbelt every time they were on the bus. Refusal to do so ended with them losing bus privileges. These were very young students, though.

Back when I was in school over 20yrs ago when LCM had a band competition on a Saturday they some helicopter service to go out there. They have always been serious about that band.

According to the article it’s not really a law. The only law requires a policy from the district and requires no punishment. The way the law is written it sounds more like an encouragement but not a requirement. Maybe there are more laws that apply but they certainly were not in that article.

Trump said what most think, Biden does what most don’t want. Socialism is divisive. (I work hard for what I have, and do not feel like I should have to give to those who choose not to work. Much less contribute to a 3.5 TRILLION dollar infrastructure bill that is for everything but infrastructure). Vaccine / Mask mandates are divisive. (Gasps - that guy is not wearing a mask as they have their’s below their nose. You can’t eat here, you can’t work-out here because you choose to not receive a vaccine that up until recently had not even been approved. Lastly, mandating for govt workers but not for people who they intentionally spread throughout the country after flooding our borders). These are just off the top of my head.

I honestly feel more comfortable that we are underdogs. Cause if we lose, hey we were supposed to lose this game. But if we win, we just knocked off the #12 team in the state at their place.

A second? I talk about timing all the time particularly and did so particularly when I was working. A car going 60 miles an hour goes approximately 90 feet a second. In 1/10 of one second her vehicle went about 9 feet. If she would have entered that space and 1/10 of a second earlier or 1/10 of a second later, she would’ve never been hit. When people get in a car accident and the other person ran a stop sign but maybe hit the back passenger door where no one was at, they will say something like, I was in a bad wreck but I did not get hurt or maybe got a couple of bruises. Yeah…… but if you had entered that intersection 1/30 of second earlier, we would be calling you a ride to the morgue. Life is literally that close in time.

Thanks, I'm all over that and just found out you guys are having a 'Pink Out". I can only hope that transfers to the play on the field for the Bears... I guess pink can be tough too and I definitely support the cause if you know what I mean.

As usual, I'm going with my L-Train. Then boys looked excellent last Friday, very few mistakes made against a tough Livingston team.

The area has a lot of good players... I am totally spoiled getting to coach quite a few top notch players every day. These girls work their tails off daily! I have coached for 20+ years and would have loved to have the talent that we have in our 8th and 9th spots any other year. Should be exciting! Praying that the Covid mess is under control before we crank up! Been very hard to get local games this year, so lots of bus miles for the Lady Hawks this year!
