Tuesday night was $1 for the whole car at Showtown Drive-In. Mama would pop a trash bag full of popcorn and bring us to the movies. It’s what we could afford. Bologna sandwiches and popcorn and a movie for 5 people for less than 2 bucks. I can still smell the green coil mosquito “piqs” burning on the dash. Mama smoked in the car on the way, none of us wore seat belts and the red dye in our kool-aid that she packed in washed out milk jugs was later banned as a carcinogen. Some of the best times in my life.

Going into this game, Vidor is night and day compared to last season. We aren't banged up, we have our identity with the offense, and the defense is looking stingy as ever. Lock the gates and give 'em 48 minutes of hell, Pirates!

You nailed it. I was able to watch last year since VHS live-streamed home games (why they’re not this year is a mystery). I think he was a Jr & is back this year (#22). Nothing fancy, just good blocking & hard-nosed running. Plus we were using that &#@¥€£ pistol so our offense wasn’t able to move the ball. I hope revenge is enough to get the Pirates fired up this year. With LCM’s improvement, we can’t afford to lose to Splendora.

I remember him every time we jumped offsides last year (which was a lot 99 was out that game and the backup played bad) they would just throw a jump ball over the top of our little corners. That’s about all they had though, him and the coaches son at running back who carried the ball 57 times (idk if that’s an accurate stat but seems about right). Still enough to beat a banged up Pirate squad, this year they aren’t banged up. Revenge game, no excuses.

Yes and nederland also came from behind against a PNG team and also beat a former #1 team in 4A not saying it'll be easy as I'm sure TC is a good team but looking at everyone saying Ned will lose because of sloppy play, while that is a very big possibility, I have to look at who TC has played and wonder are they as good as people say they are. For example just looking at the records without seeing who the teams played Crosby looks like they wouldn't be as good as they are, I know dumb example but just go with it, when you look at who they loss too it doesn't look as bad as it seems. Even if they would have 3 losses the 3rd one would have been against a very good BH team. Hope Ned takes the win but wouldn't be surprised if they lose solely on the sloppy play that I have seen

Coaches weren’t getting on asses for the hot dogging and dangerous late hits. The blind side hit on #2 and #24 resulting in unsportsmanlike were inexcusable. blindsinding a guy then flexing is weak as hell. Which was why karma bit em in the ass and handed them a district loss. I don’t condone the stomping at all but I can see why. But in your opinion which is worse?

The somehow nostalgic satisfying smell of a Pic. Then you have to try to separate the coils without breaking one of them. An officer that I used to work with who was from Vidor always said that when his dad brought home a paycheck on Friday, they would have pork chops or T-bone steak (about 1/4” thick) and then bologna and beans and rice for the rest of the week. Yep, I saw it when it first came out. My best guess from memory, first 3 Channels were UHF 32 here, Ch 2 in Houston & Ch 11 in Galveston. I was the official family antenna adjuster. When we changed channels I’d go outside & start twisting antenna until my Dad, Mom & sister hollered STOP. Folks today must think how crazy that sounds, lol.

Jasper just doesn’t look that good this year, all across the field on both sides of the ball. Aside from the D line, I just don’t see the level of talent they usually have. I would be more upset at the coaches for last season, taking a team that actually had a squad and doing nothing with it. I was surprised they were an easy out in the first round of the playoffs, this year I’d be surprised if they made the playoffs. Now the constant penalties and mistakes would worry me, did you have a lot of that last year also?

My point was to a guy who seems delusional about Crosby's greatness. They are good. They are not an elite football team. They are not Manvel, Carthage, Westlake, North Shore, Aledo, Katy, South Lake Carroll, or any other elite program. They are a very good program. Consistent domination over a long time period will cement them as an elite program. They just aren't there yet.

No disrespect he is a great guy.but not a good as a oc.those 4yrs. We were good on defense.and a great dline.2 of the yrs. They had one of the most dominant teams ever at w.o 15&16.and I agree Zig isn't the qb we expect but he plays with alot of heart.play calling is so transparent.no imagination.in these days u have to be able to put up points.without CT as coach with this staff we probably be a 500 ball club.

No excuses for this loss. Every high school game has referees making horrible calls. Learn to play better.
