@whsalum I'm rarely suprised but that game suprised me last night. I was there with my dad, brother in law and family friend and we all left scratching our heads. I will say this betting against Harvey is like betting against Tom Brady. I don't recommend doing either. Huffman is going to be a hard out because everyone understands and embraces their role and that's hard to get young men/parents to buy into these days. Hopefully we see a Huffman and Silsbee matchup.

The juniors this year at kountze we’re really good as 7th and 8th graders. not sure what happened. the sophomore s there have zero basketball players freshman class had one guard that has potential and another guard that had heart.

Wesley Yates has ties to kountze as far as family. But as stated played ball in Beaumont since he could dribble a ball.

Didn’t Yates who plays for BU transferred from Kountze? Strange that the surge of BU basketball happened about the time Kountze went down. If it wasn’t for Hardin county grown coaches and players BU would be concentrating on playin golf right about now.

Some of it has to do with the fact that Kountze ISD has been very poor rated financially and academically for several years now. Lot's of turmoil going on there these days.

I believe the 8th grade group is pretty good......whether or not they stay together....time will tell.

I got the pleasure to Work with Kevin for 4 years and there is no one better as a coach and a person, I stole many of things from him on how to handle things and how to do things. Them being in round 4 does not surprise me, Coach Foster is a Hall of Fame coach

United has a guard that girls from the 6a the last 2 years couldn’t defend. Her ppg and steals are way up this year. So they’ll have a matchup problem as well. Everything else will factor on which team has the most experience. Both teams have it.

College Station. They have a solid point guard that is quick and has good court presence. That being said, I have not seen United play. I did see CS beat the brakes of KP, but KP was ranked a little high IMO and was not in a very strong District. KP's only loss was to CS, but it was a bad loss.

Connally has the size and strength inside to give Silsbee lot's of problems. Rebounding will be a priority. Silsbee's guard play will have to dictate the tempo. Silsbee will also need to hit FT's.

Agree about sportsmanship from Wharton. I watched them play Bridge City the other night and they were the same way. Hugging and helping players off the floor after they won. Great coaching over there.

My wife uses the Sam’s app and a woman in Sam’s checkout line saw her go around the registers to get in the line leaving the store. She hollered to my wife, “ Ma’am, ma’am, you have to pay for that stuff.” My wife told her she already paid for it with the app. She ended up showing her, and several other women who had been privy to the conversation, that all you do is download the app and scan your products yourself. Of course you have to link the app to your bank account. They were all downloading as my wife left the store. I understand where Chester is coming from. I didn’t like debit cards when they first came out, now I use it for everything. Have a separate account for online purchases. Time to scrap all the coaches and the AD. Every program consistently underperforms every year. With the exception of women’s soccer. Since Marco Born has taken over baseball has went 37-72. Basketball is 40-38. Football is 9-12. Volleyball is 16-42. Softball is 60-74. Women’s basketball is 36-34. When you have a guy from Memphis running the show what do you expect. Hired a guy from San Diego as the football HC. SETX is home to some of the best talent in Texas. How can the home town school continue to fail to get these guys to commit? My guess is the AD and HCs don’t see the value and talent in this area. Baseball is atrocious. No reason it should be like that. 37-72 over 3 years!!! All Marco Born cares about is raising money and doesn’t care about wins and losses. He needs to go. We need a local guy running the show who will go after the best talent and can compete with bigger schools. I know Lamar isn’t going to compete with A&M, UT, or Tech. But there’s no reason we shouldn’t be competing with La Tech, ULM, UTSA, Rice, etc. Obviously the people in charge don’t have a clue how to get wins and build programs. They are just happy to be there. They simply don’t care.
