Thanks. Another game where we won the stat sheet but this time we lost the game. I hope this wakes everyone up and they play with a purpose the rest of the way.

What happened to Vidor? Early season talk (mostly Vidor fans) had them beating any area 4A school.

LCM gets the ball down to the 5 yard line. 3 straight loss of yard plays. Kicks the field goal to take a 10-7 lead. About 2:40 left I think. Huffman has a great return to the LCM 27. Has a 4th and 2 on the 18 (I think). LCM takes another TO. Huffman converts, scores 2 plays later. Kick off goes out of bounds. re kick goes to the 35 but there is a penalty. LCM is back at their 25. :47 secs on clock. LCM incomplete pass LCM QB fumbles. LCM players just standing around. QB throws the interception and its game over. 12 seconds left. it takes zero talent to have some football IQ there at the end of the game. that’s a coaching issue.

I believe Mathews will get this figured out. Like he said at the beginning of the season, predictions dont matter, he's been picked first and finished 4th and picked 7th and finished 2nd. One bad game isn't the end of the world, we just haven't played a four full quarters of inspired football with or without starters missing.

Keeping my fingers cross that by March 2021 we will have this virus under total control and The UIL would reconsider on Huntsville. It was nice and convenient to see all 4 teams playing at one location. Having the opportunity to see the 2 teams that will play Saturday on Friday Night at one location is nice and it cuts down on travel and lodging.

The offense that we ran when Steven Walker was the quarterback was a great offense. Then we had Tiger at QB and Spikes at running back. Those two young men had that option pitch down to a science. Like I said in my earlier post the offense is so vanilla but if you add just a few sprinkles and some chocolate syrup it'll be a whole lot better.😊

But keeping it real, I’m not as impressed as I was before the season started. Like y’all, Lumberton is riddled with injuries. Bad ones. One of them a 3 year starter. But that’s football folks. Anything is possible at this point. There is a lot of parity in this district. Hell, Livingston and BC were a “gimme” the past couple years. BC left and Livingston is seemingly better than they were. I think any team can win on any Friday (or Thursday/Saturday) at this point. I hope 55 gets better. That kids impressive. Even though we have to play y’all, I’d like to see him be able to play this season for his sake.

Whelp. I was wrong on this one. I thought PNG would win by at least three scores, and clean up the defensive problems. Third game in a row that PNG plays in an extremely close one. There are some rays of light. PNG wasn't playing scrubs these last few weeks, so the experience and toughness that come from that could prove valuable down the stretch. They've essentially been in a playoff-like scenario three weeks in a row. The 4th quarter offense is still stellar, though something more creative than a bomb to the endzone is what I was expecting on that 4th and 17. Those two kickoff turnovers made all the difference -- Otherwise this was PNG's game to lose. Hopefully they'll clean up the mental errors on kickoff and be ready for Nederland. I'm not confident that we will get much better against the run on defense. We've had three games now and the opposing teams' offenses have been able to more or less run the same plays successfully. I'm no expert, so I don't know what I would do to fix the problem, but we are just getting absolutely gashed on QB runs. Bost wasn't as precise as he normally is tonight. Nobody is perfect. A couple key dropped passes that would have been for six. So going into the bye there are still huge question marks and a lot to be worried about, but there are also some things to be optimistic about. Namely, PNG hasn't been blown out by anyone. A team that is able to stay in three close games, coming from behind in all of them, is a team that might be able to put it together later on.

Yes sir we have been out coached all yr and the qb is good if he has a big hole other than that he is soft and we run him way to much what a disappointment this is

Ok I have a lot of thoughts to unpack before I move on from this one. You can’t have a 1 man run game with this offense, QB ran great but missing #23 hurt (suited out dnp gimpy I guess). He’s a good strong runner and a good blocker in the run game. They were giving us the pass all night, daring us to throw but early on we stubbornly ran right into the teeth of the defense. Had an open TE (both of them) all night, but only threw a couple times in the first half. We have to hit the open pass of course, need to put some touch on the ball when those guys are running wide open. Missing #55 killed us on defense, but change the scheme. A 4-3 front with some big pluggers in the middle would be much better against Splendora. Make them throw it or they will just hand it to 22 all night. Their QB threw 1 good pass, there rest were not so good and I didn’t see any WRs that can hurt you. We have athletes but they are on the sideline, have to mix some guys in both ways and try to get your best players involved. Put some of your big OLinemen on the defense to stop the run every now and then. We put a DB in the backfield in the 2nd half and he immediately made big plays for the offense. We put some big OL on the Dline in the 2nd half and the defense held them scoreless. Make adjustments and make them quicker, the same old thing is not always going to work and you have to figure that out early on 21-0 is too late.

Been watching him too, great size but he has a low motor and poor effort on defense.
