I hope Lumberton beating Kirbyville, Houston Furr and Evadale has them ready for Silsbee and district play.

I'm definitely not betting against them. I'm a big fan. If Newton wins this game, no ther 3A D2 team will even stay close.

Both teams turned it over 4 times. Both teams had players missing. Difference in this game was line play. Diboll was much better on the offensive and defensive lines. Still surprised at how small Jasper is on defense. A power run team with a big offensive line will give them fits. I came away impressed with Diboll. They will definitely move up some more in my rankings.

Oh, I knew that. I was just trying to find out what Mr. Physical Speed was trying to point out.

Don't take it so serious folks...this is just a couple programs who want to and are able to play. It doesn't matter...At least they are fortunate enough to have kids/parents/students who can make it to the game. Let them play. Some local areas are still underwater with players/coaches who've been flooded out, again.

They are evaluating the damages. Rumor is BU and Fehl-Price Elementary were the only 2 schools in Beaumont that took in water... based on what I know, they are trying to clean it up and make it ready as soon as possible. I think it'll be ready. Remember, during Harvey, Ozen took in water, and was ready to go shortly after. Worse case scenario... and this is me talking... there are options for using other buildings in the district temporarily. Just that you'd split the population of BU up. Hopefully, it doesn't get that bad...

Evadale has another good team that is well coached. It will be a tall task for them to come out with a win, but they’ll give it their best shot. Good Luck to both teams.

Gilmer is better this year. Will be another test for Newton. I think Newton pulls it off in a battle. Just hope both teams get out without any injuries .

Most gamblers don’t talk about their losses. Congrats. It’s like winning $500 on a scratch ticket. We don’t realize how much it cost us to get that $500. During my gambling addiction days, I seemed to do better with the college games.

I think we’ll start slow because of the lack of their normal school day and practice routine, like 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. Then again they could use it as motivation and come out like they did against St. Pius, 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. They won’t overlook this game, just hope we can get our number 1’s out healthy and give the number 2’s plenty of playing time.

They will be playing Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Actually, this was the game I had planned on going to. Glad I saved the trip and went to Jasper. Much better game. SA is the real deal!

Wow. Thats a tricky spot. You prepare all week for glass Joe and get Mike Tyson at the bell. Jasper will be alright. It's a good wake up call that the route to North Texas is going to be a fight. BTW Carthage 17, Gilmer 9 going to the fourth quarter. This has been a fun game.

That may be a stretch. I haven't seen Porter or Dayton play but according to Dave Campbell KWP is picked to finish ahead of Porter in District 9-5A. Now that is just an opinion from a magazine, but an argument none the less KWP's only other loss was to state ranked Angleton which only managed 28 points on KWP to BH's 42 points. Porters defense should be better than BH's though looking at they only allowed 29 total points over 3 games. Its hard to compare at this point, but Porter will be playing KWP the same night, so we will know all after next Friday BH's offense is really starting to look good and I expect will continue to grow barring any injuries through out the year. Our QB has a go to receiver and good back to hand the ball to which is why BH's stats this year have been almost equal from air to ground. The BH D has some good talent, but will need to tighten up. They have done a good job with the bend and don't break approach and haven't let many big plays go by, but still giving up to many points.

Well, guys. It is not picking on a small school. Concordia was scheduled to play in Lumberton tonight. Coach Babin spoke to Coach Lindquist at Concordia and was assured that Concordia was coming. Then early this afternoon, he was told that Concordia would not be able to make the game tonight. As conditions in Lumberton are a lot better than a lot of areas, Coach Babin wanted to try and get a game played, especially considering that Lumberton had lost one game (WHICH.......ONCE AGAIN.....WAS A MUTUAL DECISION BY COACH BABIN AND COACH BARBAY AT JASPER TO CANCEL THAT GAME!!!). His first choice was an opponent that already who had a cancellation but that team had already picked up another game for tomorrow. His mind clicked to Evadale as they had also previously lost a game due to cancellation (last week as O'Connell cancelled on them). He then called Coach Williams at Evadale who was of the same mindset.....his kids just wanted to play some ball. That is how this game came to be. So this crap of Lumberton trying to "back out" of one game to get a smaller opponent has nothing to do with this. BTW, if you can't make the game, SETXsports.com will carry it.

No team is running from competition. Or scared to play in the rain. It's not the field conditions that dictated the cancellation of the GAME. Destiny/fate was put into place way before this was ever a storm. After walking through flood waters tonight to rescue my 70+ year old parents. This all seems so irrelevant. Hug your children. Count your blessings. Enjoy the moments. Live on to fight another day. Tomorrow has to be a better day.
