  2. I think you don’t know what executing is. But as to why he was shot, I know that one officer yelled “gun!”, and within a second or two of that another officer disarmed him, during which the gun went off. I believe the officer who fired the shots either saw the pistol taken and in the struggle mistakenly thought that the victim had pulled it from the holster, or didn’t see the gun but heard “gun” and then almost immediately heard the shot and thought the victim was pulling the trigger. I don’t think the victim “deserved” to be shot, and I don’t think it should’ve happened under these circumstances, but I do think there’s going to be a pretty strong argument for ruling the shooting as justified. It’s not really any different than a lot of the cases we see where some kid who’s afraid of the cops runs when he’s pulled over for speeding or fights the cops because they’re busting him on a misdemeanor marijuana charge. The situation escalates needlessly and all of a sudden something that shouldn’t have been a big deal at all puts a cop in a situation where they have to make a split-second decision based on the information they have and their reasonable belief that they’re in danger. Oftentimes when we can go back and look at it from a different angle (and in slow motion), the cop could’ve done something different. But they wouldn’t have had to make a split-second decision if the person they were dealing with didn’t put them in the situation to begin with. Sometimes cops get it wrong, and sometimes it’s still justified. I think that may end up being the case here.

  3. Everyone else must have better eyes than me, because from one angle it looks like one thing and from others it looks like something else. I’m not positive what happened. I think the officer was able to grab his gun? I also think the gun may have discharged when he grabbed it, meaning the officer who shot could’ve believed the victim fired a shot. Hopefully there’s some body cam footage to clear it up, because even in the “clear” videos there’s a lot going on and it’s hard to see exactly what’s happening. All that said, carrying a gun and then putting yourself in a situation where you may end up in a struggle with law enforcement is not a great idea. In the same way that putting yourself in a situation where trying to flee from law enforcement leads you to accelerate your vehicle towards an officer is not a great idea. I thought the goode shooting was obviously justified and the officer acted reasonably. I have a feeling this one is going to end up falling in the “lawful but awful” category.

WV wouldn't have lost any games all year if the coaches would have had the players in the right position. Or something like that.. I remember reading it before.

  5. It’s claimed logic that I don’t understand. Let’s see, he is in a patrol vehicle with lights, he is wearing police gear, he has a badge and patches that say police but I can’t see his face so it might not be the police. Oh wait, I can clearly see his eyes and nose now, yep, that’s a cop because I can see his eyes and nose!! Because you can tell by a person’s profession by his face? That would be like me walking through the mall and pointing at someone and saying, that’s a firefighter, that’s a nurse, that’s a secretary……

  6. I don't think any officer(LEO) (especially this 8 year veteran) wakes up hoping they kill someone. They just want to do their shift and go home to their family every night.....I don't blame them for doing what they think is necessary to not die. I carry most of the time, my biggest fear is having to pull my weapon and use it. Not only the thought I killed someone, someone's parent or child, I'll have to live with that but it could bankrupt me in court, even if proven justified. For me, I hope my Son or anyone I care for wouldn't act so stupidly interfering with LEO's trying to do an already hard job.

  7. 1 polls are useless 2 of coarse a thorough investigation is needed 3 to blame this on the lack of ICE training in mob management rather than blaming the mob is unreasonable. 4 if you want better trained personnel to handle the mob, shouldn’t we bring in the military?

  8. That is kind of what happened in the Amadou Diallo case. Detective, were going to speak to a person (Amadou Diallo) on the street who fit the description of a sexual assault suspect. They asked him for identification and he ran, running up a stairway and reached into his pocket and pulled out a black pistol while he was running. The closest officer yelled “Gun!” and there was a shot and the officer went down. The other officers returned fire killing Diallo. Except the black pistol was his wallet. The closest officer who yelled gun tripped and accidentally fired his gun. The officers behind him heard the officer yell gun, heard the gunshot and saw the officer go down. It all happened in a couple of seconds. They all were indicted for a second-degree murder and a jury found all of them not guilty, finding it was a reasonable belief under the circumstances.

  11. They are arresting people in Texas. The Texas government however is not refusing to notify the federal government of illegal aliens under arrest nor trying to hide them. The best way to deport people is to notify ICE when such a person is in custody. The person is already safely locked up and there is no need for a street confrontation.

  12. West Brook players were wrong to even go over there in the first place, and I’m sure that’ll be handled. But no adult should ever be going back and forth with a kid. That’s a lack of emotional intelligence and maturity. Now social media is full of think pieces from grown people blaming refs, blaming coaches, blaming everything except the truth. Why are we so afraid to let our kids fail? This is exactly why this generation struggles — too many adults want to hold their hands and shield them from every stone thrown their way. Life is harder than a basketball game. Let’s teach them how to stand on two feet, hold their heads high, and handle defeat with character. That’s how you build young men, not by protecting them from every uncomfortable moment.

From the article posted earlier: The 1951 agreement gave the US the authority to "construct, install, maintain, and operate" military installations in specific locations, most notably Thule Air Base (now Pituffik Space Base). Between these locations and across Greenland's national territory, including its territorial seas and airspace, US forces are granted "unrestricted freedom of operation" under Article V. The Kingdom of Denmark's authority over Greenland is expressly acknowledged in the agreement. The US has "exclusive jurisdiction" over its military troops and defensive zones, which includes exemption from several Danish laws and fees. [Hidden Content] Don't know that much about the base. Good up-to-date article that describes all the in's and out's, including the history and current staffing, etc. Sounds to me like the agreement with Denmark basically gives the U,S. carte blanche anyway. So, this seems more about ownership of minerals to me.

  16. I’m looking forward to the new market in Silsbee. I wonder how long it’ll be before ICE shows up? Just because you’re a citizen doesn’t mean they won’t haul you in. Maybe even deport you. Oughtta be real good for business, all this fear and violence directed towards people who don’t look white enough. And white people who don’t like to see others treated like animals. Shoot first. Ask questions later, if you feel like it.

  19. Don't believe everything you read. They say "no tax increase," but the city/county raises value of your house/property. Thus, your property taxes total goes up. The school doesn't change the decimal... You might ask, how does this always happen? This must be a coincidence that your land value goes up every time a bond passes. Yeah, I am sure that it is...

  22. It’s crazy…..I remember being called racist when I agreed with jury/cops decisions on “unarmed black man”…..now we have a white guy armed with a weapon getting in the middle of police business, and I’m hearing he had a right to conceal carry…..so, the only common denominator is they don’t like cops…..because I’ve said this on several social media sites, if you don't teach your kids to comply and not resist or fight the cops, it’s child abuse…..there is a risk for every decision people make….if I drink and drive and hit a telephone pole and kill myself…..did I deserve to die? No, but that decision put me there…… Until people stop blaming everyone else for their poor decisions, nothing is going to change….I’m not lowering my standards, both of the deaths were because of stupid, dumb and illegal decisions they both made.

  25. [Hidden Content] From the article: A coordinated web of encrypted chats, street alerts and tracking of ICE "Abductors" in a sophisticated database reviewed by Fox News Digital shows that agitators were already mobilized at the scene where 37-year-old Alex Pretti was killed minutes before any shots were fired. ICE and Border Patrol agents were there to arrest an illegal immigrant criminal, and Pretti and others were there, outside a donut shop, to meet them as part of a strategic pattern of organized interference with law enforcement operations. Over the following hours, a national network of socialist, communist and Marxist-Leninist cells in the United States leveraged the tragic fatality into a nationwide protest operation. While grief and outrage over Pretti's death is genuine, the network's real-time rapid response, using short sensational video clips and emojis as weapons of propaganda, offers a window into the disciplined logistics, messaging and coordination of far-left warriors fomenting insurgency-like confrontation with authorities.

Look at where it is located and why you think it ight be important..... What if China "made a deal" or Russia "made a deal" ? Instead of just being against it because Trump is for it, research the why behind it. You may find you agree with something Trump is planning.

  35. Pretty amazing to me that there is clear video of the officer being hit by the car, clear precedent and case law showing why the officer was justified in the shooting, commentary from almost every legal expert in the country saying he was justified, etc... And yet somehow half the country (including politicians and law enforcement higher ups) is still screaming that this is murder.

  36. Looking at criminal records and such, the left finds some questionable people to support. I think the “mother of 3” had at least 2 of her children taken away. Surely being a possible terrible mother doesn’t justify any use of force but there sometimes seems to be a pattern of who is supported.

  38. Okay, some new information to look at. I watched a video from Nate the Lawyer on YouTube. It covered the view from the a cell phone that the agent was holding (not a body cam). We probably all have seen it. But, looking at it again, it changes part of the narrative. The officer is did not step in front the vehicle as some on social media have claimed. He was being taunted by the wife as she was trying to get in the vehicle. The driver turned her wheels to the left and backed up. That swung her vehicle to the right and pointed her car at the officer. She then put it in gear and drove at him. Intentional? Accidental? I don’t think it matters. There have been so many claims, however, that the officer stepped in front of the vehicle in order to justify shooting. Looking at it again, it does not appear to be true. He was standing near the headlight to the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver backed up the vehicle, pointing it at the agent and then turned into him and drove forward. So many of the accusations from the start seem to be jumping the gun or wishful thinking to make ICE look bad. I know that for the people who have made up their minds, it will not matter. The decision on fault was likely made immediately and it won’t change. We sometimes get the qualifying comments of, I support the police but the agent should not have stepped in front of her. Well…. it turns out that he didn’t.

  39. I am not that emotional about it. (evidently you are) No hate here. Just call it like I see it. Several teams have put a beat down on my Tigers this year. Not surprised of that fact considering how down they are this year. I don't make assessments based on my home town team losing a game. I think I am a little more credible than that.

  40. In Plumhoff v. Rickard, the Supreme Court issued a ruling on a police vehicle chase that ended up in a parking lot with the suspect vehicle stopped briefly and surrounded by police cars or officers. The driver backed up in a U-turn and took off again, almost striking officers. The vehicle was then past all officers so none were in direct danger. Officers opened fire into the back of the fleeing vehicle, killing the driver and passenger. The ruling was unanimous that the use of force was lawful. Even though no officers were in direct line of the vehicle at that time, to continue the chase would endanger the public and officers. In Graham v. Connor the police mistakenly thought that Graham might have been involved in an armed robbery. When they stopped him, he was acting irrationally and jumping around outside of the car. The officers used force on Graham and I believe broke his foot. It turns out that Graham was having a diabetic crisis and was completely innocent. So the officers mistakenly stopped the vehicle that he was riding in and then mistook his serious medical crisis as resistance. Graham sued all the way to the Supreme Court. A unanimous Supreme Court ruling said that the officers’ use the force was reasonable under the circumstances as they appeared to be to the officers actually at the scene. In their writing, the Supreme Court said that the officers had to make split second decisions and it was not something that could be decided calmly months later in a judge’s chambers. It’s not difficult. If you use force against officers or if you are told to stop and you don’t, you might be opening yourself up to having lawful force or deadly force used against you. The Supreme Court does not appear to be sympathetic to people who resist because they believe in a cause. The First Amendment guarantees the right of the people peaceably to assemble. Blocking or obstructing the police or using force against them is not a peaceable assembly. Just sayin’…..
