Sadly, a lot of school districts choose to let the pervert resign so they don't have to report it and take the time to go to court. If you remember several years ago a Memorial coach was jailed for this and when it came out that there were allegations at other schools, the girl sued those schools. I don't remember the outcome of the lawsuits. My favorite professor at Lamar, Coach John Payton, always told us to never be alone with any of your students. I have lived by his advice now for 33 years.

I'll never understand the amount of time and energy people put into talking, debating, and arguing about politics, as if politicians truly have our best interests in mind. One day, people will realize that it doesn't matter whether you're Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, white, Black, brown, or anything else. At the end of the day, none of these politicians—from the local level all the way to the president—don't have the public's best interests at heart.

For clarification: schools run a background check from the DPS database. If that comes back "clear", the school check references. Former employers are only technically allowed to provide 1. dates of employment 2. eligible for rehire yes/no 3. they may also provide safety info for DOT sensitive positions. If they reveal unsubstantiated or unverified rumor type information that prevents a former employee from being hired, they can be subject to lawsuits.

On Thursday the Supreme Court handed down a big decision in the case of Mullin v. Al Otro Lado. It deals with the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952 (INA) that allows people to seek asylum in the US. More specifically it deals with the definition of the word “in”. This kind of flashes back to the Bill Clinton deposition about Monica Lewinsky when he famously said when asked about sex with her, it depends on what the meaning of the word is, is. That’s right folks. We had a multi page Supreme Court decision on the definition of the word “IN”. Jumping ahead to give y’all time to think about it, it was a 6 to 3 vote on the definition of the word “in”. Guess which three did not agree with the definition? On with the show….. The INA said that a person may seek asylum when he “arrives in the United States”. That’s basically the case. Of course it goes on for pages to give other cases to explain the intent of the law, etc., however, the question is, can you apply for a political asylum in the United States when you were not the”in” United States? The answer was no, but here is the funny part. Justice Alito in authoring the decision to explain what being “in” the US actually means, wrote this: “The running back does not arrive in the end zone (and six points do not go up on the scoreboard) when he is tackled at the 1-yard line by the defense. The guest does not arrive in the house when the homeowner locks the door right before the guest tries to open it. The army does not arrive in the city when the city’s defenders repel the attack outside city limits. Here's a pretty reliable think-tank assessment. It helps explain some of the confusion surrounding Iran's remaining capabilities. As I stated--regardless of propaganda--there's still a lot of unknowns. It doesn't discuss the nuclear issue in this piece. But, there's no verified intelligence assessment on the exact damage to Iran's nuclear program. There are summations. Those summations are based on incomplete intel. The only way to get a true accounting is to topple the regime by whatever means is required where direct intelligence can be gathered. That's part of the danger of any 'deal.' There's no true baseline without the regime's full cooperation--which won't be coming. I know "regime change" is a dirty phrase to many--if not most. But--in this case--it will probably be the only way. The Administration needs to make the case for it. Right now, the IRGC is helping make the case to other world leaders themselves. But, there are a lot of everyday people in America who believe something different. They need to be convinced. Educate them on how the current Iranian regime remaining in place will affect their gas prices, and every other good they purchase. Make it more than just about the nuclear program. Make it about day-to-day life and expenses. Tell them how Iran regulating oil through the Strait will affect their pocketbook. They should have plenty of recent evidence now. I'll agree it doesn't appear Iran can launch a nuclear warhead at this time. That's as far as I'll go as it relates to their nuke program status. I can guarantee that's as far as any internal intelligence assessment provided to POTUS will go. It won't provide definitive details. That's not how our assessments work unless the info is verified by multiple sources. Issue the U.S. has--I may/may not have mentioned previously--is that most of our refineries are set up to process heavy, sour crude. We haven't made the investments to be able to process our own WTI. The Supreme Court recently ruled that federal courts could not order states to gerrymander districts to create majority minority districts. In the case of Louisiana v. Callais the Supreme Court said that a state could not be ordered to gerrymander districts in order to create more minority representation districts. To do so would violate the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. Some courts and people felt that discrimination was okay if it was against White voters. So in Callais, Louisiana was allowed to redraw their districts. Up pops Alabama. In a challenge to the Voting Rights Act, a special master was appointed to redraw the Alabama districts about 3 years ago which had been set by the state legislature. The federal special master disregarded the legislature and drew the state districts by gerrymandering in order to force more minority representation. After the decision by the Supreme Court in Callais to not have federal courts decide state districts, another challenge was made in Alabama to enforce the federal approved districts, again ignoring those enacted into law by the legislature and the decision in Callais. The federal court in the Northern District of Alabama stepped up and again interfered with the Alabama legislature map. It was like Callais never happened. So naturally, there was an appeal to United States Supreme Court. They ruled yesterday that the federal court in Alabama needs to get back its lane and butt out. Alabama’s district map will remain as the legislature drew it and not a federal court approved master.
