I was impressed with Ned's running game, passing game and their defense. I think they will be very solid this year. I was impressed with same for WOS, but most impressed with their heart. I saw more heart last night than I did all of last season. To have 3 turnovers, several mishandled balls and have a come from behind 4th qtr win in a hostile environment is a pretty good deal.

Well coached team that will play for 4 quarters. Depth is the biggest issue.

Yowman threw for at least 200 yards and 3 TDs and it could have easily been double that. The offense is more balanced than its has been for years. With this kid in at QB the entire field has to be defended by the opposing defense. The early issues with the offense was OC trying to pound the ball into a 8 and 9 man front.

I got in on the end of the 1st qtr. Sorry, hadn’t seen any stats. Ehlinger running and throwing.

The Huntsville QB, M. Southern. went down late 1st Qtr after 3 straight TD drives. Looked like an ankle roll. There wasn’t much of a Plan B as 2 different receivers subbed in and finished it out. The team was clearly out of sync in the 2nd Qtr, but the defense stepped up and pitched a shutout in the 2nd half. Yes, PNG’s chances go way up for sure if he doesn’t play. Huntsville can practice a new QB this week if Southern is out. However, the Huntsville defense is just as good as last year, even without the big fella Sweat who is off at Texas. PNG won’t put up a lot of points.

HISD is in disarray. Having a high school basketball team rise up to national prominence is seen as a positive by most administrators in that district. Most of the other schools have no choice but to go along.

There was a lot of really good coaches that wanted the dayton job and some where from the next level.

Last year, they went the distance with WO-S TWICE and the Eventual state champs with no cramping.. so I have no idea what you're talking about.

I’ve watched wos play teams like PNG/Nederland and they didn’t cramp as bad as Silsbee did last night. And it wasn’t just one player, it was several.

I don't how Silsbee conditions their guys, but WOS has a brutal conditioning regimen. That is why they compete til the end with teams with depth.

This is my take on LCM, we played good on defense tonight which surprised me. Offense played well but couple of bad snaps and a drop passed cost us 21 points. Against good teams you have to score every time you have the ball. Do I think LCM is better then last year. Yes I believe we are better then last years team. That's how it looked tonight. I'm hoping for LCM to play a competitive football game, and keep the point difference close. I think WOS would have to struggle on offense and LCM would have to play very good defense to keep it that way. This is not a rivalry game nothing is won or loss here in Orange just my opinion. After the game I'm going back to support my neighbors on the rest of the year. I just hope LCM gives WOS all they want where they can get better and I know WOS will give us more then we want.

I don’t put much stock into scrimmages and 1st game of the season but WB was impressive tonight once I got to the stadium. Was down 7-3 looking asleep and they woke up. Glad i came to watch em. Good job Brook! Final score 56-35. Btw: yeoj yalls band is meh, almost gave me a nap. lol

Dabo said last season was a pretty good one too.
