I took two positives from the story. Apparently there WAS enough evidence about Hunter’s activities to warrant an investigation and likely score a conviction. I guess it remains to be seen if actual evidence of criminal wrongdoing will be presented in the big investigations regarding corruption. But this should go a long way towards dispelling (or at least disputing) the notion that the DOJ is weaponized purely to attack Trump. They literally just got the current president’s son to cop a plea. That’s ballsy for law enforcement. I don’t expect a presidential pardon for Hunter, either. Here’s something to think about. What happens if Biden then pardons Trump over the pending matter over documents? Talk about shaking things up with the undecideds.

Seriously, I know... I was just trying to be kind. Last year Rusk was fourth place, 3-3 in their district, lost 49-0 to Carthage, and lost out in first round to Gilmer 25-7. With or without him, I doubt Rusk will even win District once in the next 3 years. I sincerely hope I am wrong. Personally I just don't see the point of going to a fourth place 4A Rusk, but I respect their decisions. We talk from a football perspective, and that fine, but as for life and career decisions they know whats best for them. I will always respect that.

TABC - Texas Association of Basketball Coaches "College Live Period Showcase" - It's deemed the "College Live Period" where Texas High School Coaches can coach their own teams which is usually not allowed under Texas UIL Guidelines. More importantly, it is where College Coaches are allowed to meet and talk to recruits after watching them play. There are some rules and guidelines to it all, but it is an awesome event held in Duncanville, Texas as a one stop shop for all College Coaches. It is a great experience and opportunity for the kids who have dreams of playing past high school. In the bobcats case last year, our top 3 all got invites at multiple colleges after last year's event. We are really bummed about the timing of our transition of coaches and having to miss this year, but we are sure Coach Whitmire will make it an expectation for the boys to attend in the future. He has came in and is already doing some really great things with them, so the future looks bright!

One guy for Silsbee that would have to be at the top of my list would be Donnell Allen. There have been a lot of players that few people talk about. Just since I have been here there was Elester Whitmore, Lewis Arline, Willie Jones, and Eddie Fobbs. I think it is impossible to pick out who is the best. There are three Tigers on the team now who have been reported to have D-1 offers. Still even though he was before my time I would have to guess McCarthur or Brown. I love Tiger basketball.

It’s a fun district to watch. Got some solid teams that make for some games that fans can really get excited about during the week. Think about WOS vs Jasper , WOS vs Silsbee , WOS vs HF, Silsbee vs Jasper….and there are more. These are games that fans look forward to and can talk about. I know it wasn’t great for WOS last year, but I look at them as a sleeping giant. You drive by that place and see that historic stadium where they have “crushed” teams for decades. They will be back.

I get it but I also am not going to blast the new coach because of the admins decision. I'm hoping he turns out to be high quality and brings something to the program that helps make us contenders. His son not playing on a bad team his Freshman year might be because the coach knew how bad the team was. Hopefully his son is a good QB and solves that issue for the next three years, if he's not then maybe we get a Branch situation in the near future. One thing I will say is the motions that they did at Cedar Park were the talk of Coaching for several years about how they opened up and exploited defenses with their personnel. I'm hoping we get CP Willis not Tyler Willis because the talent at Crosby is going to be way closer to CP than Tyler. I remember vividly coaches going up to CP for camps to learn those motion offenses. Also, possibly the most talented team in Crosby's history got absolutely obliterated by a Willis Coached team in 2014.

I'll be honest... i have a hard time differentiating between Trump/Rudy's "quid pro quo" with Ukraine and the allegations that are being made about Hunter Biden/the Big Guy. Other than the fact that Biden is accused of doing it earlier than Trump is accused of doing it. Kenneth Starr went after the Clintons for years and got nothing. All of this talk about the Clinton Foundation yielded nothing. To date the Hunter Biden investigation yielded nothing. Russian Collusion yielded nothing. About the only thing that I can see gaining any real traction is Trump's voter issues in Georgia.... They have him on tape telling the AG to "find" the exact number of votes that he needed to win GA (but still lose the election, btw). That's actual evidence, not hearsay, wild speculation, tall tale, half truth, or absolute lie. They have the actual call recorded.

I see nothing wrong with that stance at all but you’re making an argument as if it if worthy of discussion whereas you don’t think there is. That isn’t looking at it through an objective lens. Every single time I see one of these cases debated, you can almost count the seconds before someone will say, if I want to carry many thousands of dollars in bundles around with me…. That is utter nonsense. It isn’t simply being not smart. In this case the guy didn’t not say he was just riding around. He claimed to be heading to buy a truck. To any reasonable person that certainly seems like he had a seller that he was going to talk to. Their claim is also that it is “their life savings” so they can’t afford to lose it. Yeah, so he is riding around with it just because? The burden of proof does lie with the state. The trial to see if they meet that burden starts Monday. I am assuming that they deposit it but I don’t know. While I have handled many thousands of dollars in cash, I have never asked for the disposition of it. I have said this several times, in several forums and in personal discussions. I think that asset forfeiture laws need to be rewritten with a higher burden of proof of a criminal activity. I am curious what evidence they are going to present Monday. If they have none then I hope they get interest on the money return ed and the county having to pay damages.
