With everything I seen so far concerning JoeBama and his future, the following makes more sense than anything else I've seen:  What I think JoeBama is going to do is in the spring he'll announce that he's not running for reelection.  The last sitting President to do it was L. Johnson on March 31, 1968.  And we all know that Nixon, the come back kid, won.  Trump would mirror that!  Although the Dems like to say they are the "quota" party, I don't think he'll resign so they Dems can say that they have first black female President.  They know she's worst than JoeBama.  They put her on the ticket as an impeachment proof insurance policy.  You could be looking at a Trump 50 State win.  If this scenario, not running for reelection, plays out, thoughts on who would be the Dem nominee?

Can’t see that happening (with Kamala). If they do a bait and switch, I think it will be Newsome.  Kills two birds because they have to dump Harris in doing so (can’t have running mates from the same state).  I thought that would be the play all along but getting pretty late in the game.

Final playoff spots have to be played. In regards to seeding games (#1, 2, 3) there are multiple options.

First and most used option is play the game. Winner gets the higher seed.

Coaches can agree to simply flip a coin. This can be done two different ways. The winner of the flip gets the higher seed (1 over 2 etc.). Or the winner of the flip can choose the seed it prefers out of the two being flipped for.

The other option is one of the teams can concede the seed to the other. This has happened a few times when a coach thinks taking the lower seed is a better route for his team in the playoffs.

Now there are some districts (not all) that require two teams tied for #1 seed to play the game. Other options are not available. I do not know if 22-3A is one of those districts.

I see Kountze and Orangefield playing but can see both agreeing to a coin flip.

One things for sure. If one coach wants to play and the other does not, then the coach that doesn't want to play has to concede the seed.

This is excellent.  Thanks for laying it out for us.

Are you suggesting that me putting lines on games is "bulletin board" material?

I have been doing this for years and never had any complaints. Heck, people are always asking me to post them.

Nobody here should take my lines personally.

BTW, me having Kountze as 8 point favorites shouldn't rile anyone.

    Kountze -8???  You’re losing a step buddy.

(Actually I thought that was a pretty tight line when you posted it.)

    Yep

one of arceneaux s teammates play for Washington. He(Yates)hasn’t played this year due to injury, but once he does get on the court he s gonna make a big impact

Yep.  The Calmese kid from Lamar is getting decent minutes due to his injury.  And Wes was dominating Calmese at Lamar open gyms when he was at United.   Of course, Yates was better than a LOT of SLC guards when he was still in HS and Nate struggled guarding them as well.

With this hype with OF, upgrade the sound system.  Grandparents were cringed!

Just because the kids are better at basketball, doesn’t mean it’s not still a poor district.  And for me, it’s more the kind of music than the sound system anyway.  And if that didn’t make me sound old enough, it IS too loud for me, even if it was music I actually enjoy.  But that’s just the way it is most places now days I suppose.  On the up side, come to Lamar games. They’re still rocking YMCA and Cotton Eyed Joe 😂🤣

Buckeyes are beyond loaded for this upcoming season, it's Natty time and I think they'll do it. Current HC I can see leaving afterwards.

NFL?  I can see your point.  Day has gotten a lot of criticism at tOSU for a coach who has won close to 90 percent of his games as their HC…

Coach Whitmire informed me of that last night before the game.

I told him he had to make amends for that only loss. Otherwise his team was bringing down the program.

I believe he did just that.

    Too funny 😂

I think we can all agree now that this was one last “home run hire” by Smalley before going to the dark side (relax Cards, I kid).  With a top 10 coach in SETX at the helm (he’s been on my list for years), and the talent coming up through the pipeline, the Bobcats have a chance to be a 3A power for the next several years (assuming they stay 3A, which they should).  Unless there is some major real estate development very quickly, there isn’t a ton of room for population growth in OF.

(Sidenote:  with Orangefield and Kountze trending up, EC is going to need to up that recruiting budget so they can get back in the mix for those BISD transfers wirh HF.  Step it up Bucs!)

Leaving UCLA HC job to become The Ohio State OC… Bill O’Brien took the head BC job…

shocked that he is taking that but big win for the buckeyes

I saw that and don’t really understand that move for Kelly.  Has to be something more to that decision for him, no?

I’ll bet he sets an all time scoring record there for Orangefield. The kid can flat out ball!

I’ve only been following 25 years and change.  But assuming the good Lord keeps him healthy, I can’t imagine he won’t end up being the best to lace em up during my time here.  Remarkable he’s only a sophomore.

I’ve watched them a lot lately, trying to catch the young man from Bmt.  He hasn’t played a lot, and not that tuned in to college basketball.  Is he hurt, or just working his way into a starting roll?

Season ending injury.  Achilles I believe.

From an offensive stand point, neither team shot it well in first matchup. I would guess Kountze shot 20% from the field, maybe less.

Shooting is often predicated on defense.  For instance, I would venture to guess most 19-4A teams have their worst shooting nights against Silsbee.

And while I would agree that whichever team shoots it better will be a significant advantage, one number jumped out at me way beyond any other in the first meeting.  Orangefield simply cannot turn it over 28 times and expect to have a chance to win the game.

Probably so… I mean I was a Kountze poster before moving here and posted about football and baseball there… not sports of which they weren’t the greatest.. And yes of course I posted about basketball to lol Honestly other than keeping up with Kountze basketball scores other than College hoops I honestly don’t care much for basketball as much as I used to

I think many of us probably appreciate your football postings (including AAW I’m guessing).  Whether it’s Bellville or another team from that district, it is nice to know what’s ahead come playoff time from someone who has put eyes on those teams.
