  2. I think it's possible that he dies without being sat on by Chauvin. Not likely...but possible... I think it's possible that he dies without being on drugs. Not likely...but possible... I believe it was a combination of the two that killed him.

    I’ll Just Put This Here

If a mod thinks it needs to be in sports forum, then move it. I happen to think it is all political so I posted it here. This is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins. It will make you laugh at the ridiculous renaming hysteria. Dear Mr. Page: I agree with our Native American population. I am highly jilted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward. Let's ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If your shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns. The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60's alive. Gone. It's offensive to us white folk. The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men's lives. I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres. Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates! Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even spending habits. Wrong message to our children. The New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants promote obesity, a growing childhood epidemic. Wrong message to our children. The Cincinnati Reds promote downers/barbiturates. Wrong message to our children. The Milwaukee Brewers. Well that goes without saying. Wrong message to our children. So, there you go. We need to support any legislation that comes out to rectify this travesty, because the government will likely become involved with this issue, as they should. Just the kind of thing the do-nothing Congress loves. As a die-hard Oregon State fan, my wife and I, with all of this in mind, suggest it might also make some sense to change the name of the Oregon State women's athletic teams to something other than "the Beavers (especially when they play Southern California. Do we really want the Trojans sticking it to the Beavers??? I always love your articles and I generally agree with them. As for the Redskins name I would suggest they change the name to the "Foreskins" to better represent their community, paying tribute to the dick heads in Washington DC. This is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins. It will make you laugh at the ridiculous renaming hysteria.

  8. He wasn’t that good of a friend, lol. More of a guy that I knew. And nobody was charged with manslaughter, either. What you’re saying is very possible. It’s also possible that if Mr Floyd had been peacefully placed into the back of that squad car, he’d have died there. And it’s entirely possible that without the stress of the difficult arrest, Floyd would still be alive. We just don’t know. But he definitely didn’t deserve to die while some cop ground his head into the concrete. We can all agree on that, anyways.

  9. Very sorry about your friend, but I was talking about a situation where someone is placed in a situation I described involuntarily. I understand the toxicology report may be unable to put any direct blame on Chauvin and also that Floyd put himself in a bad spot by his own actions. I also believe if any other cop would have showed up that day, Floyd would most likely still be alive.

  10. Because you don’t agree with some of the actions taking place within the movement doesn’t make you racist at all. Hell there’s a lot of things within the movement I don’t agree with lol

  11. This is the reason I don't get on this board anymore....everyone is a political pundit and we can't just talk about high school football. Sir, I grew up in Vidor, Tx, am a lifelong resident and everything you have listed here is absolutely wrong. 1. Whites only After Dark sign was taken down in the late 1960's; it was at a private business on Main Street. It was removed along with the Ku Klux Klan store that was there until 1975. That store stood at the intersection of Main and Old Highway 90. I know this because I bought a black friend of mine a T-shirt from there so he could wear it to school (Orange Stark HIgh). We ran track together. 2. Cross was burned at halftime of the Vidor / PA Lincoln game also in 1974. We were leading 14 - 13 at halftime until the idiots (Klan) did this. Lincoln went on to win by 30 after that. I've attended nearly every Vidor home game since the early 70's and don't recall a cross being burned at a Central football game. I do remember both teams going to the center of the football field and praying together after each game. 3. Due to heavy pressure from the FBI, the KKK was essentially gone from my hometown by 1980. Most of the leadership of the KKK relocated to Cleveland, TX. They were also the ones that marched in Vidor when the housing project was desegregated in 1992. This would be the march that Henry Cisneros was involved in.No monthly meetings but if I hear about one, I'll let you know. 4. Black children have been attending Vidor schools since the late 1980's without much fanfare and not any incidents I'm aware of. If President Obama is black, then we have approximately 100 black children in Vidor schools now. But, since none of us Americans can claim a straight, pure racial heritage back to Noah, who knows what race of kids we have. We're all pretty well mongrels. 5. We can't do anything about how much Evadale stinks. 6. BLM marched in Vidor without incident, I know, I was there; I agree with the message in part. Funny thing is that you want to erase the Confederate history of the US but won't forget the history of my hometown. That's the problem with leftists, selective memory and revisionist history. 7. If you truly feel badly about living in Bridge City, be somebody, move to Vidor!!!

  13. That’s just how I feel. I can’t imagine God saying “oh, wow... you tried to be Christlike, you paid your tithes, repented of your sins, tried to help others and believed..... but I see here that you were baptized in the “name of Jesus” instead of “the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.” It’s off to the Fiery Lake with you!”

  14. I don’t think either phrase is really necessary at this point but to push the narrative that these 2 phrases are of the same nature is misleading in my opinion but I could be wrong. Around what time did each phrase become popular? What was the original intent for each phrase?

  16. I wonder if the conversation would be different on here if everyone commenting owned a business...I’m sure it would. Easy to say shut everything down if you’re still drawing a paycheck. Let things open back up, if you’re at risk, quarantine. Personally, I’m not worried about getting the virus, I’ll get sick (maybe) and get over it.

  17. The topic was about CNN saying Jesus wasn’t perfect. You attacked The Pope and Catholicism, blaming them in defense of CNN. Catholics are a denomination of Christianity, just like Baptist, Episcopals, Pentecostal, Methodist, and yes, Seventh Day Adventist (and many others). Crawl out of your bubble and look at it from others perspective. Instead of criticizing CNN, you choose to criticize another Christian denomination in your defense of CNN. Think about that. About how that looks to other Christians. Defending CNN by criticizing people, in their own way, trying to follow Christ’s teaching.

  24. Same here. But the younger generation has been wussy-fied. Maybe he was just apologizing for the lack of pigment in his skin. Isn't that what people have been doing since all this started? I'm not pointing fingers because we don't know. There are 3 versions of every story. Yours, mine, and the truth.

  29. So is there anyone that thinks that Floyd would have died THAT day if he had not crossed paths with Chauvin?

  30. If Geo Floyd was geeked out on fentanyl etc then why did 3 cops put their knees on him, especially on his neck? The guy is crying for his life. Bystanders are begging the officer to take his knee off his neck. Several cameras are filming the whole thing. It does not look good. They should of performed first aid. But they did not. Not a good look on the officers part, to say the least. The rest is history.

  31. I have no doubts that if Biden is elected, the coronavirus will no longer be headline news and the Democrat run states and cities will miraculously open up their economies. Remember when every day during the GWB presidency, all we heard were the war casualty counts every day...Obama gets elected, daily casualty counts go away. Hopefully Biden the boob doesn’t get elected so we never know.

  32. This is what delusion looks like we can have a video of someone being Killed and still refuse to accept that reality. One will have to believe that Floyd was going to die that Day regardless simply over the drugs he took. When the video first start Floyd is alive and well able to scream talk clear mind. 8 mins after police have knee on his neck he’s unconscious. It’s amazing and telling how far some will go . If Floyd was kneeling on the cop neck nobody nobody will be asking if it was Murder. This is getting sad

  33. I wasn’t being critical of you... I believe what I believe, but I’m also humble enough to ask for forgiveness if it turns out I’ve got it all wrong when it’s all said and done. It’s the basic foundation of our Christian belief. God’s son who never sinned was sacrificed on our behalf. If it’s believed that Jesus sinned, then his sacrifice is no different than any other martyr’s death and we’ve all got this plan of salvation wrong.

  41. Here’s my opinion, take it for what it’s worth because it’s only my opinion. I think the coronavirus is a serious virus, just like all viruses. (Is that the right spelling?) The difference between this virus and all others that we deal with is there is no known treatment. Once there is a treatment it will be no different than anything else we deal with. Here’s another opinion, I think the chinavirus is 100% political. Call me crazy all you want but I believe If President Trump wins this election the virus will continue and there will not be a treatment. If joe biden/whoever he chooses as his VP wins I think the virus either disappears or the treatment is found within a couple of months. I know, I’ve been watching too many conspiracy theories, but I don’t doubt anything that the DEMONcrats will do to win the Presidency. Remember the media never said a word about the 1.5 million people who died from TB last year but they claim ever person that sneezes or coughs has the chinavirus. Who knows what will happen. I guess we will find out in November.
