  1. Partnership does not mean turning law enforcement authority to civilians. I am not sure where you drew that conclusion from that general community policing statement. In fact most community policing rules is for citizens to not be armed and to not take action except to be the eyes and ears of the cops. It is not and never has been... call the neighbor and let him take care if it. If you are a police officer, I would like to know what your experience is that led you to that conclusion. As far as me being part of the problem, I am in my 37th year as a police officer. I have been involved in 5 shooting incidents. I have been treated at the hospital about 10 times line of duty injuries including having my eyebrow glued back together in two places after being assaulted with a pipe during an arrest. I was chosen to be one of the first federally funded community policing officers in the nation in the mid 1990s when Clinton signed the community policing bill into law. I spent 10 years on SWAT with 8 a team leader. I have been declared an expert in gangs by a judge in a trial. I spent 3 years in detectives and 3 years in command of the gang unit. I have been to over 150 Homicide scenes and was the supervisor in charge of several of them. I have testified in front of a grand jury in an officer involved fatal shooting. I currently teach the Penal Code, arrest-search and seizure (Constitution Law) and firearms at the police academy. I have over 50 commendations including one from the US Marshal’s Service for helping to capture an escaped prisoner from CA who was about to shoot a deputy marshal and a few medals. i could go an but if you think I am soft on criminals and am part of the problem.......

Blah Blah Blah, this is it for football. It's all over with. This is the end. Ya'll sound like CNN. We have to get back to normal. What are we going to do live in a bubble from here on out. I am sure this will all go away in November, if you know what I mean.

The strange thing is the number of teenagers who have even been seriously affected by covid is close to zero. I’m not sure any have died. They likely have a greater risk of dying playing football than dying from covid. They certainly have a greater risk dying driving to practice than they do of dying from covid. And by the fall it is likely that much of the herd immunity we need to achieve will have happened. We need to protect the elderly (who are almost exclusively the only ones who need protecting), but we can do so without imprisoning an entire generation of children.

  8. The ones that actually look at case, typically agree. Ones that just read headlines.... I have talked with officers (naturally) about high profile cases and has some disagree.... until you show them other evidence and then it is, “oh, that changes everything”. If you question is, am I the guy that just disagrees with everything then the answer is no. I fall in the typical police paradigm. I comment on many forums and usually qualify my statement as.... if the situation is as presented in the media. IF this is true, this is the answer. For what it is worth, I get calls every day, including on my days off, to give opinions on a case, sometimes from ongoing crime scenes.

Yes. You’re crazy. Had the jogger been white, the killers wouldn’t be accused of racism. They’d still be in jail for murder.

  17. I thinks it’s best to accept the facts on this case. What someone did 3 years ago has absolutely nothing to do with anything. From the beginning some became too eager to prove the victim was somehow not the victim. It just makes me wonder why are some trying so desperately to find fault in the victim. if the jogger was white the narrative would have been . Innocent teen on jog attack by vicious armed thugs. And nobody would be on here trying to figure out what the white kid did wrong.

  21. Aubery tried to out maneuver the two trying vigilantes trying to apprehend him by passing by on the right side of the truck, which was in the middle of the road. But the son with the shotgun blocked him. So he came back to the left and pass by that way. That does not sound aggressive to me on the part of the jogger. He is just trying to go about his way. When he was blocked on the left side he was caught in a no win situation. He had two armed white men, who are obviously hunting him down. They are trying to apprehend him. Maybe their motives are for good. Maybe they are not. Contrary to cardinal whatever says not all southern white men are good, balanced citizens. A whole lot of murder and mayhem has been perpetrated against black people in the South. Lynchings, bombings, rapes, castrations just about every heinous act you can think of. Much of it is recorded in history. A lot of it has been covered over. So he comes around on the left side he has a decision to make. Does he surrender to these armed men? Who knows what their intentions are? They are not dressed like law enforcement because they are not law enforcement. He knows he has not done anything worthy of having guns drawn on him. For all he knows he is fighting for his life. So he decides to fight. If those two clowns had not tried to take the law into their on hands vigilante style none of that would have happened.

  22. It's all about perspective, my friend. I can speak for no one but myself, but I was disgusted when I saw that video. That's something no one wants to see. The big question isn't why the man was killed, but why do we all see the same video and have different opinions about what we just witnessed. While I recognize your point of view is firmly rooted-that you've seen what you needed to see and you believe a heinous murder was committed and that the shooter and all associated should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. FWIW, I also don't at all believe that the 3 white men involved are at all victims in this matter... This incident isn't cut-and-dried. There is more than one side to the story. It doesn't start and end in that 40 second video clip. I have problems with the 2 month delay before deciding to present the case to a grand jury. One of the former DAs also stated that the Grand Jury in that county isn't meeting because of the Covid pandemic and blamed the delay on that. That may be true, but I think that they should have long since been preparing to present the case to a grand jury regardless. I think that the first and second DA were bordering on protecting the accused in this case. But what you have now could also be a stretch. Now you have two men who were obviously involved in a killing that has questionable motives, but they are being held without bond. Are they a flight risk? Are they likely to do it again? Those are the two questions considered at bail hearings. They're being held without bail to soothe the masses. And I really don't care. They did their part(s) to bring about this situation. In an earlier post I detailed three different murders in Beaumont. White man, white woman, Mexican man.... all killed by black men. The important thing to note is that I don't believe that they were killed for the color of their skin. They were killed as a part of some other criminal act.... If race played a part, it wasn't the only reason. That's just how I see those incidents. On the other hand, any time a black person loses their life at the hands of another race, the black community assumes that the crime was racial at its core. It doesn't matter what the circumstances of the loss of life were.... it's because he was black and the killer should be sentence for a "hate crime." That same attitude is prevalent in all areas of life and it's what I believe is the primary reason that the black community has struggled to rise with along with every other ethnic group in the U.S. If a person of color loses their job... it's because they were black. The 18 year old man being prosecuted in Jasper for sexual assault right now.... it's because he's black. I challenge you to go to kjas's facebook page and read the comments and accusations being thrown around. It's horrific, and mostly racial in nature. Surprisingly enough, there isn't anybody posting anything negative about the race of the young suspect.... It's almost purely the supporters of the young man claiming (surprise) that the prosecution is racial. I do have a serious question for you to ask yourself, though. It's obvious that you have strong feelings about this particular case. Are you as concerned about the killings that happen there in Port Arthur when there isn't a white person involved? Do they bring out the same strong feelings that you have about this case? If those killings don't bother you like this one in Georgia did, I'd be curious to know why.

  23. You can kill A black man on video and still Have the majority of Non blacks in this country take your side. He might of had a knife he might of not just been jogging he might was going to somehow put in danger the 3 armed men chasing him. You can’t make this up only in America. As a black man when i speak on race I’m the racist. If this was 3 blacks guys who shot a white teen jogging. We wouldn’t be talking bout but white on white crime is the biggest issue. This thread would be full with way different type of replies . Hell quick history lesson will tell you exactly what would have happened if the tables where turnt. It get to the point where people would rather convince themself that 3 grown men chasing then gunning down a man are somehow the victims. I know it feeds into the narrative nobody wants to believe. I wonder why so late on the charges i wonder how many people in position swron to protect and serve seen this video and did nothing. But if I say anything about this case have anything to do with the color of the one and only victim. I’m racist .

  24. If you turn a corner and a guy has a gun and seems to want to use it on you, your only (slim) chance of survival is taking it away. Without expressing an opinion about the overall situation, I think Ahmed did what any reasonable person would/should do. If someone comes at me with a gun and they are only a few steps from me I'm assuming they are going to use it on me and I will spend what will probably be my last moments on earth trying to take that gun away.

  25. Just saw a great meme. Since our Forum doesn’t allow computer illiterate people like me to post memes, this will have to do. NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE AGAIN UNTIL THERE ARE NO FATAL ACCIDENTS FOR 14 CONSECUTIVE DAYS. THEN WE CAN SLOWLY BEGIN TO PHASE IN CERTAIN CLASSES OF PEOPLE WHO CAN BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN, BUT ONLY AT HALF THE SPEED LIMIT. #SAFETY
