Congratulations to Coach HH and the entire staff for representing SETX and 9-4AD2. Coaches have stuck to their process and now that they have better talent they have achieved higher results. Coaches have produced high level game plans and made strategic in game adjustments as they have since they took over at WOS. Now, all roads lead to Carthage who have a better player at nearly every position other than MLB and possibly a DL spot. Friday's outcome will not be the result of incompetent coaching, and it will most definitely not be because WOS ran a "50 defense" instead of a "50 defense". Regardless of the final result Coaches and WOS players have done a great job and even more so given the poison from segments of the fan base.

Carthage is 4AD2 because of their enrollment but make no mistake that they would win 4AD1 going away. As far as the WOS fans go, there is endless transcript of who they blame. Everyone can read it easily enough. Check out WOS/HF thread for a good example.

Welp surly, I don't care what your team has done throughout the season or playoffs. This is my opinion. Why does Carthage play in high school D2 anyway when clearly, they should be playing UT or D1, and not WOS according to some people. Nobody is blaming the coaches if we are unsuccessful. I along with others don't care who says it over and over in order to get a reaction to start crap. We are blessed to have talented young men who have and will continue to win and represent Orange. Then, there are other schools who will never ever win district and their only reason for coming on this site is to create a stink and antagonize others.

Unfortunately...I think this one will get out of hand. Carthage is absolutely loaded and their defense matches up well with the WOS offensive attack IMO. Time will tell...but give me the Bulldogs by 21+

There's no question that anything is possible.. and there's a reason the game is played. The team with lesser talent wins from time to time. I wouldn't say all the time.. but enough that people know that it's never a good idea to count someone out. But... if I were a betting man, I'd say that I believe Carthage takes it convincingly. Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for WOS (if for no other reason than to ask the WOS faithful if they still want to fire the coach).. but I think the Bulldogs will just be too much. I hope I'm wrong.

3 & 11 are both real good shifty guards for SP, and their post 13 is very solid, he can step out and shoot it too. They just seem to loaf some on D once they get down some, and they dont seem to have any structure to their offense other than to try to go one on one to take shots. They should be really good in 2A though. they have the pieces, they just need to know how to put it all together.

Mustang Nation who will be home team or is there one? How do they determine what side of the Stadium each team will set on. I kind of forgot how that process works. I know that Mustangs Nation is all about Football, but I want to give a congratulations to Mighty Mustang Marching Band (M3) who will perform and do a great job at AT&T. Drill team Filly's and Dance team Great Job students.

WOS Oline was not very good vs Newton in week 1

What difference would it make? Keeping in mind they have already beat one of the 4AD1 State Championship participants.

Well that terrible loss the Cowboys are done this season. The DC used to be a head coach in the NFC North… and the dude went 0-3-1 against those teams. That’s horrible. His terrible defense makes the opposing teams QB’s look like a prime Tom Brady

Coach Dan Ray Hooks will be pacing the sidelines. Hollering at the refs. Motivating the players. It will be a good day for Stangs.

I don't care what the people even Carthage think or saying. Mustangs players and fans, be happy and bless that we are playing in the state championship. No matter what with results and head up so boys will learn and ready next year. Let's go and ready! Go Mustangs!!!

Newton gave up almost 300yds passing to East Bernard, WRs were wide open all game and dropped a couple easy TDs. Walls Offense will be able to move the ball and score points, the deciding factor will be if Wall's D can limit the big plays of Newton and force them to long drives. This one should be a shoot out. Wall has tons of speed on both sides of the ball as well. Neither team has seen what the other brings to the table this year.

I don't think Wall has seen the speed of Newton I will say i think this matchup is more compelling than Gunter vs. Newton would have been. If Wall can get the ball out to those receivers quick itll be a good match-up

The smart play is certainly picking the Bulldogs. WOS is certainly the underdog, but the game is played on the field and something tells me these kids don't really care what the prognosticators are saying. They've been underdogs since this derby started.

Bryan didn’t miss a midrange jumper that whole game! It was tight the entire game too! Great matchup with that 6A team! They were also a good free throw shooting team and super athletic. BC has improved at the line throughout the season. Only going to get better! They seem to be fixing the little mistakes made earlier on. Small defensive mistakes keep catching them. Overall, very proud of those boys. They held their own against those big schools. Great shooting, finishing and teamwork by Denison and Bush. Silveira had an incredible game against Montgomery. Mungy was just Mungy…can’t say enough there. Bush had seven 3s in the championship and finished the weekend averaging 20.2ppg. Congrats to Bush and Mungy on All-Tournament Team.

I really enjoyed watching the game last night and could not help but think about our beloved coach. Just a few shoutouts, to #'s 4,8,31,24,7,5,9,77,72,62,34, #50 you played like a big dog last night, too many to add just know your honorary auntie is sooo proud of how you played last night. The mustang way isn't there under his leadership.it was the little thing that they done great that made them.and now 4 yrs later it's still the same thing.penalities and T/O.and been undisciplined on defense so it want put the offense in bad situation.you want beat many good teams like that.and not to mention they still haven't played a good first half of football yet.and not only that the QB still hasn't thrown for a 100 yards yet.when they could do short passes to take some of the pressure off #4.
