  1. It’s just funny to me how the group party that was supposed to be against big government, massive spending, uncontrolled borrowing, and for states’ rights, individuals’ rights, freedom of speech, etc… will turn their back on their beliefs because of their devotion to a would-be autocrat. Our forefathers fought the American Revolution to escape being under the thumb of England. Y’all are literally welcoming the feds to take control of any area that’s governed by politicians elected by people from another party. Wrong doesn’t become right just because you admire the guy who’s doing it.

  3. Really? James Woods? Freakin’ crackpot. “Many dems…” There is no validity to the statement even offered. Anyone who seriously follows politics knows that tickets 3 years out are what talking heads make up to chirp their opinions. I don’t know who it’ll be, but it won’t be Buttigieg or Harris, of that you can be assured.

  4. Because you just don't understand. Washington D.C. is a Federal Enclave, not a state. For the Feds to move into a state, it would have to go through the respective state Governor first. D.C. is different. By Law, the Feds control D.C., they don't have a governor. Trump is 100% perfectly within the Law to enact enhanced law enforcement in D.C. Why did this happen? In blue D.C. A murderer can point blank shoot someone in the chest killing him, and they go to a "court" that sentences the murderer to "rehab" which entails no bail, arts & crafts activities, ice cream parties, and yoga classes. What a joke, but the D.C. joke ends now.

  5. Google's (the extremely conservative google) AI ranks DC as having the 5th highest homicide rate in the country in 2024. Glad the local officials are doing a tremendous job of keeping the capital city of our country so safe. Yes, leave it to the local government to keep all our federal officials, employees, and community members safe. You conservatives and your lack of trust in incompetent people just slays me.

  7. You're a cop right..... Explain to me how this lady is a "threat" to the public in a minimum or maximum security prison? Do you think she is going to use a spoon and dig her way out of prison? Maybe over take a guard and escape? Honestly, I wish they would make everyone with these type of crimes either get hard labor (like making big rocks to little rocks) or just execute them......BUT, the same people who are up in arms about Maxwell being treated soft, are the same people who are against hard labor and execution.

  8. My other choices for that week are these: West Brook at PAM Jasper at HF Lumberton at Vidor I chose BH/United because other than PAM, I will have seen all the other teams. (scrimmage/games) Plan on seeing PAM in playoffs

  9. I disagree, respectfully. When you compete or versus, it's a winner and loser. now, in this situation, it doesn't count on your record. Think of it as you getting the brakes beat off you in an alley, but no one saw it or vice versa. I will say this. If the scrimmage is played like a traditional scrimmage, then yes, no winners or losers. Or even like they do in the nfl, "practice together", there is no winner. Soon as you make it "game like" with no kicking, there is a winner.

  10. There is no national emergency. States have rights. That used to be a bedrock of the Republican Party. Federalizing local law enforcement is called martial law. If that’s what you want without emergency, you’re un-American.

  11. That would be a gift to the Republican party. So far, I’ve seen no one who could win a debate against Vance….

  12. Nevermynd. From the Trinity Trojan Football fb page **Trojan Nation** If you plan on attending tomorrow night's scrimmage, please know that North Crowley will be charging a gate fee. They also strictly abide by the CLEAR BAG policy. Freshman will begin at 5:00pm followed by Junior Varsity. The Varsity scrimmage will begin at 7pm. While ESPN will be at the game, it will not be live coverage. There will also be no broadcast tomorrow since it is a scrimmage. We would love for Trojan Nation to show up if possible! Location: Crowley ISD Stadium 9900 Hemphill St, Ft Worth 76134 [Hidden Content] Go TROJANS! #TrojanNation

  15. Its called "Mont Belvieu" not Barbers Hill, that's the name of the school. In any case I was not referring to any specific locale. A Communist mayor in NY will cause nothing but problems for the Democrats nationally. The nation will watch NY implode on TV. I do not believe TX will lose seats like CA, because CA is losing both illegals and productive Americans moving to red states for a better life. I think TX, FL and TN are gaining population even as illegals are being deported, while NY, CA and IL are losing both illegals and Americans.

  21. Somebody better put their thinking caps on… First, I don’t know of any Serving who relish this type of duty. If they do, they’re not the ones you want doing it. They are not the droids you’re looking for… Second, since it’s not a desirable duty, recruitment—already at historically low levels—will suffer more. Not good. Third, if these actions continue, and are allowed to continue at any time, in any location, the 2nd Amendment will be in inherent danger. At the least, gun control will be ramped up immensely by advocates with the normal excuses for gun control PLUS the addition of having legal authority, and the capability to rapidly deploy a specially trained Guard force anywhere/any time. I can hear it now: ‘The public doesn’t need to protect themselves. We’ll do it for them. We have the capability and authority now.’ I don’t want anyone to have any more excuses than they already have to try and curb my 2nd Amendment rights. I trust myself to protect me and mine. The last security threat gave us the Patriot Act, warrantless wiretaps, limitless & unaccountable surveillance, and other extra judiciary actions all approved by secret court proceedings. Trump was caught up in it himself! The best intentions are always just that. Until the government gets control of them. Remember Reagan’s 9 scariest words. Take them to heart. Just fix the laws that protect the criminals more than the victims.

  24. DC is a carve out. It’s all Federal land, under Federal jurisdiction. No issues—personally—with Feds taking over Met Police for their 30 day limit. No issue with replacing current leadership staff & reorganizing. But, my goodness, they have a police force of over 3,000 for a population of around 650,000. That’s strictly the Met police. Doesn’t count Park Police, FBI, DEA, Secret Service, and other assorted alphabets. The issue isn’t numbers. The issue is the soft on crime stance. The Feds can actually modify sentencing guidelines in the DC jurisdiction. It’s within their authority. Sounds to me like they need to put more emphasis on a gang task force like Houston had to do in the East Houston/North Shore area—which was known as the hub for the Cripps & Bloods, who then started working together with MS-13 and other foreign groups. It’s still the hot spot in Texas. But, they’ve cleaned it up a lot.
    1 point
  25. It’s not. DC has more law enforcement per capita than any other metropolitan area in America. I’ll say it again. The issue is catch and release, cashless bail, and the juvenile system. Some of these kids are being recruited because it’s known they won’t be prosecuted.

  26. I remember when the Feds under Clinton moved a 7 foot tall guy out of a neighboring community that he claimed "didn't feel safe" although nothing had happened, into Beaumont where he was shot dead almost immediately. Crazy.
    1 point
  27. IS it called for? yea A political Stunt? Maybe - if so, and the outcome is Washington becoming safer, why is that bad? If it works, they should come to Beaumont and we wouldn't have a 1 in 73 chance of being a victim of a violent crime, versus in Texas it is 1 in 246......See the difference ?

  31. Wrong doesn’t become right just because you are an “appointed” judge or even an elected DA. When a juvenile takes a gun and purposely kills another human being, he/she just became an adult, and not prosecuting him/her doesn’t make it right just because of their age. Since we bring up our forefathers, what would have happened to a juvenile who murdered someone under colonial rule? You couldn’t even be “accused” of being a witch, that would have been your demise, so I don’t believe age would have saved them. Our forefathers were geniuses and politicians these days wouldn’t make a pimple on their arses, but there are still some things they couldn’t envision…..like millions of illegals invading our country (not asylum seekers), the pure violence being inflicted on our citizens, and positions of power being funded by anti-American monies.

The fact of the matter is that President Trump is your president and he lives rent free in your liberal head... Period! And it brings me joy knowing that our President sets you off every single day. So enjoy your day of unhinged protesting or whatever it is you liberals do and I'll more than enjoy my day knowing that mine and your President is doing all he can to Make America Great Again!

  38. Are you going by the number of crimes after the police commander falsified crime statistics? BTW -- he got suspended for doing this. It's my understanding that he reclassified bad crimes as softer crimes to try and make DC look better. You can reclassify a murder all you want but you still end up dead! [Hidden Content]

  41. The Weasel has accomplished his task with you. Liberal = un-American. I made my claim based on the way you interpret law enforcement authority. You make your assumption based solely on my affiliation. That’s the kind of the kind of thinking authoritarians want their subjects to have.

  42. Also, in Tepp & Stepp 5AD1 podcast preview, Stepp is picking La Porte over Lone Star for the 5AD1 Championship. So, Tepp is picking Aledo over Angleton. Stepp is picking La Porte over Frisco Lone Star. Pretty high bars to reach. R3 PO’s are a murderer’s row. 9-5AD1 looks to be the only district with at least one cakewalk PO matchup.

  44. Maxwell's security point score is 27, which is the sum of a 20 point custody score and a 7 point "base score." Her base score is 7 because of her status as a sex offender. "Despite her score of 27 resulting in a MINIMUM security level, BOP policy does not allow people with a sex offender PSF (Public Safety Factor) to serve their sentences in minimum security facilities someone has to waive the PSF to make that move. Maxwell is a "threat to the public" but they also show that her sex offender status, which should mandate stricter protocols, should be waived. Once again MAGA is num to anything there king does However, furious when it pertains to abortion. Where is the outrage for the sex offender who is allowed to have out custody and be allowed to have opportunities to be among the public. There was an outcry for Calvin Walker to be behind the fence for stealing money from the school district and rightfully so but silence on Maxine. I agree with the author.

  47. The numbers are the numbers......Unless you're trying to dispute the numbers on practically every crime page I've gone to Beaumont and live in Port Arthur.....I've never been assaulted or obviously killed...but that does not mean the violent crime rate in Beaumont is not 278% above the national average in violent crime.

  48. Hopefully everyone will think twice before yelling at and demeaning the refs. I roll my eyes when I hear coaches and fans carry on about officiating. Almost every game I have ever been a part of that ended in a loss could have been won with better tackling, blocking, catching, throwing, etc rather than any calls the officiating made or didn't make. You cant change the refs, concentrate on the things you can control which is primarily "your team's execution".

  49. My thoughts: 11-5A D1 - Reverse Friendswood & Crosby. Overall Crosby returners including QB & outstanding DL. Plus, I think they’re hungry again. 8-5A D2 - Reverse Huntsville & PN-G. Coaching for PN-G. 10-3A D1 - Reverse EC & Hardin. Hardin O was impressive & looks like they return a bunch. Those and $0.25 will buy you the stir stick for your coffee.
