Silsbee's Joe Sigler to retire..... Silsbee is open

what is loyalty….. not many players stick around no matter the level…..its all about “gettin his”2 points -
I get that United is a great program, but what would make playing basketball for BU more advantageous than playing for Silsbee? A player of Jones' caliber will merit the looks from colleges regardless of where he plays ball.2 points
-
I wouldn't overreact to this. Silsbee may have 4 or 5 kids that'll go straight to varsity in 27. Assuming they all stick together. They just need to nail it with this new coaching hire and all will be set. Next year might be rough though.2 points

So you actually think coaches would back out of applying because of one player who would have only been there two more years transferred out? If that is the case, Silsbee does not need any of those coaches.2 points -

I don’t think nobody thought going in last season thag BU would be better than WB ! But WB lost ALOT & BU basically bringing back their whole team plus the additions of Jones and Coleman son ! A better WB team last year struggled with BU …1 point -

One of my great friends is still in the Navy. Stationed in Washington state, daughter is I think a junior.. anyways all playoff series are 3 games unless game 1 the other team is run ruled then it is just a 1 game series. I thought it was interesting1 point -
How was I reaching? I typed in “Is the Declaration of Independence about love and respect”? This came up first. How can one say someone is wrong when it’s their interpretation of a document? The liberal left….always in search of a “gotcha” moment on Trump, when in fact, they should be trying to come up with policies that affect all Americans that their party can run on. Two huge problems…..no policies……no leader. Bring on Jasmine Crockett…..talking that ghetto accent and hating on white people should get her nominated. She also cuts in front of the elderly and the disabled at airports. I know one that would vote for her.1 point

Softball/Baseball are series sports. The only way a 1 game series should exist is if both coaches agree to it and in lower classifications. Still wouldn't be a fan of it though.1 point -

To be accurate, more Silsbee talent has left to go to Beaumont schools than has left Beaumont to come to Silsbee. But I get what you are saying. I do agree with this making BU a state contender.1 point -

I don't care for them either since "anything" could happen in one game, while the better team usually wins a three game series. I speculate GEV has just one pitching ace with little depth in reserve. Oh well, BH just has to show up and show out. Take it to them, Eagles!1 point -

I spend lots of time on sabine, but I'm perfectly content to drive through PA without stopping on my way. I did probably 50+ ridealongs with @tvc184 back in the day and didn't see a single neighborhood that I thought i'd want to live in.1 point

I was on the third row of section 232 in the stadium rooting for WV. I was also very optimistic to see what could be done with WV considering the amount of returning talent on both sides of the ball for WV. Never dreamed they'd run off the coach who finally got some "respeck" on WV's name and replace him with a guy who will have to try and replicate that success with little to no offseason. Good Luck!1 point

Since we are talking immigration, Obama deported 480,000 in 2012 alone. How many deportations were blocked by federal judges? Did they all receive due process? Of course not. All this federal judges BS is reserved for Trump. How democratic is that? Protecting gang criminals!!!! What is wrong with you people????1 point

Nothing wrong with immigration. But—as was famously said—you can’t have open borders and a welfare state. Milton Friedman Cato Institute is libertarian. Their slogan is basically ‘build a wall around the welfare state, not around the nation.’ I think most people with a lick of common sense understand the two can’t co-exist without restrictions. So—as a liberal—you either have to give up your big government spending, or open immigration. You choose. @UT alum1 point

Stop acting like you’re the only one who knows anything. What I said rings true. They could never envision Biden’s invasion of 20 million migrants. They didn’t have drug smugglers, paid human traffickers, and violent criminals coming across the borders (which were much smaller then). Times were totally different then. Even though they had open borders and encouraged immigration, they were concerned about the non-contributing immigrants being worthy of becoming Americans. The immigrants back then weren’t blood suckers looking for a handout and toting flags of the country from which they seek asylum. You’re the one who needs to read and use common sense. Here’s an excerpt of Washington’s and Madison’s opinions: RELATED: The Trouble with the ‘Nation of Immigrants’ Argument No, not because “diversity” is our greatest value. No, not because Big Business needed cheap labor. And no, Madison asserted, “Not merely to swell the catalogue of people. No, sir, it is to increase the wealth and strength of the community; and those who acquire the rights of citizenship, without adding to the strength or wealth of the community are not the people we are in want of.” Madison argued plainly that America should welcome the immigrant who could assimilate, but exclude the immigrant who could not readily “incorporate himself into our society.” George Washington, in a letter to John Adams, similarly emphasized that immigrants should be absorbed into American life so that, “by an intermixture with our people, they, or their descendants, get assimilated to our customs, measures, laws: in a word soon become one people.” #share#Alexander Hamilton, relevant as ever today, wrote in 1802: “The safety of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common national sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of the citizens from foreign bias and prejudice; and on that love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education, and family.”1 point

It has truly been a pleasure officiating for Coach Sigler over the years. His professionalism and integrity in the game of high school basketball were evident every time his team stepped on the court. What set him apart was not just his knowledge of the game, but the respect he consistently showed to officials—even in moments where a call was questionable, he never tried to embarrass or demean. He addressed concerns with composure and always maintained the standard of respect. Coach Sigler also went above and beyond by allowing me to come speak to his team on multiple occasions, giving insight on officiating and teaching the do’s and don’ts from a referee’s perspective. That openness to educate and bridge the gap between coaches, players, and officials is a rare and appreciated quality. Wishing Coach Sigler a happy and well-deserved retirement. Your legacy of leadership, character, and respect will continue to influence the game and those who play it for years to come.1 point -
