I just don't see Joubert applying. Would take a pay cut because of losing AD money. Also, not on too good of terms with Silsbee. But, I certainly can be wrong.2 points -

would you take exception to white supremacist protestors being allowed to take over at UT, disrupting learning and threatening minorities? or would you support it? And would you support UT faculty allowing, and even leading those protests? I mean, it's freedom of speech, after all.2 points -

Correct on D1 it will be BH 1 seed and BS 2 seed D2 though is still up for grabs on seeding between PNG and NED . PNG won last night , but if the lose on Friday to Ned they will have split and have the same record .2 points -
Silsbee Football 2025
bullets13 and one other reacted to Matthew328 for a topic
Those are fair points, but the flip side of that is he's going to be more physically mature as he goes from being a sophomore to a junior and he'd have a much better supporting cast at Silsbee if he indeed left...you have to take that into account too..I've seen the kid in person and he's an elite talent...there's a reason he's got the offers he does for football, because he's got every tool in the belt2 points -

Pretty sure y’all are: D1 - BH, BS D2 - PNG, Ned 20-5A still has a district game to play (except for LP) to decide seeds. LP will be #1 D1 no matter what as they swept the series vs. Santa Fe.)1 point -

I totally agree with this message, cause I would travel almost two hours to do a game @4 finish that game then drive back almost an hour to do a 7 game, then drive home. I spent so many hours away from family, I would umpire 4-5 nights a week just cause I love baseball and umpiring, but if only the parents would suit up in umpiring uniform and become an umpire! Remember were human we all make mistakes!1 point

I have officiated HS football and baseball for years. Fans, coaches, players have all gotten out of hand with belittling umpires. We could care less, what teams are playing and do the best we can to call a fair game. I have a great job and make more money than most, at my regular job. So officiating HS sports is a hobby that most of us take seriously. We are going to make mistakes in both sports, but nothing is ever intentional. We have always had shortages of officials and its 100 percent due to parents and coaches totaling bashing us for the 3 hours they have on the field. Some of TASO officials work 4-5 nights a week to make sure we have some sort of coverage for your games. We spend time away from our families because we love the game and not necessarily for the money. Sometimes I wish that I could walk away from officiating, but guilt sets in when there are 2 teams, 1 driving 45 minutes away to get to a game, only to have no official show up do officiate the game. I have been the only official on the field for a 9th grade and even a JV game only to have coaches screaming at the top of their lungs, about a hold that I didn't see. Anyways, if we had more of the fan base, put on some stripes, and take on some of these games, you might get a better called game due to officials just not being overworked. Thanks for listening.1 point

BOSoxfan4life reacted to Preach for a topic
It has truly been a pleasure officiating for Coach Sigler over the years. His professionalism and integrity in the game of high school basketball were evident every time his team stepped on the court. What set him apart was not just his knowledge of the game, but the respect he consistently showed to officials—even in moments where a call was questionable, he never tried to embarrass or demean. He addressed concerns with composure and always maintained the standard of respect. Coach Sigler also went above and beyond by allowing me to come speak to his team on multiple occasions, giving insight on officiating and teaching the do’s and don’ts from a referee’s perspective. That openness to educate and bridge the gap between coaches, players, and officials is a rare and appreciated quality. Wishing Coach Sigler a happy and well-deserved retirement. Your legacy of leadership, character, and respect will continue to influence the game and those who play it for years to come.1 point
